head has a fold line down the middle as it is sent folded with a hinge. The bed base you construct yourself like a flatpack. Instructions and quality is good. Mattress is compressed and rolled up and once unrolled, it appears high quality. Having tried this bed out for 7 months now, I feel I can give it an honest review. I've really wanted this to be the best ever bed, however it is so unusually firm and I haven't had a good night sleep since. It has the feel as one of those firm latex/foam pillows, but in a mattress. I even tried adding the Diamond Topper, but it didn't seem to help to make it more comfortable. I've also tried a few different pillows (changing up the profile and softness) as it was suggested that you need to match the pillow to the mattress. This didn't correct the comfort. I constantly wake up with an achey back, sometimes a numb shoulder or arm, and constantly tossing and turning during the night. My partner seems to be fine with the mattress, so it suits some not all. Without the topper, the bed is quite a low overall height, and with the topper, maybe a more average to slightly higher bed height at 64cm incl. bed legs.

my lumbar spine and knees. At the time I had to have a special mattress made to give me appropriate support and help with pain control as I couldn't sleep. I was only averaging between 3 to 4 hours of broken sleep a day. In Nov/Dec 2023 we moved to a quieter regional location as I had been stopped from working in 2018 with Total Permanant Disability/Injuries. Part of that move involved looking at a bed. After much research we decided to try the Emma mattress on an adjustable bed and have been pleasantly surprised with the change. Although I still will have pain for the rest of my life, my sleep is more comfortable and on the new mattress I am sleeping around 6 hrs a night and not waking. My wife says I still toss and turn however there is now almost no disturbance to her from my movement and she is now sleeping better than she has since before my injuries. A definite win/win. I am waking in a much better frame of mind and feeling less tired than I have in a very long time. The mattress has given a great deal of support to sit on when I am dressing and that is great as I am not a small man. Very pleased with the purchase and highly recommend.

The best mattress – I had horrible lower back pain from my previous no name cheap mattress and then I bought the Emma mattress based on friends and family that said the Emma mattress was great and I am so glad I did! Not as advertised – The mattress is really thin and quite uncomfortable, the medium firmness is more on the firm side so not what was listed. On top of that, I ordered the mattress and pillow package that Emma offered over Christmas and they didn’t let me know that they had ran out of stock on the pillows until the mattress arrived, so I had to chase them down only… Read more

Sags after the 100 day trial – Mattress started off being very comfortable for myself and my partner who is a lot lighter than I am. After roughly 3 months the mattress developed an undulation on my side only even with continual rotation on a regular basis. Great – I love my Emma mattress. I thought it would take some time to get used too, but after the first night I could tell the difference. Very Comfortable Mattress – We are very happy with our mattress it is very comfortable and you don’t move when the other person rolls on there side which I love we have had trouble in the past with that. Much better than our previous mattress in a box – I bought this mattress to replace another brand in a box. After more than a year of use, I am happy with it. It is comfortable, and that has improved since I bought even more so since buying an Emma flip topper. I do find these memory foam mattresses are hot even though they are advertised as cooling. Cure for insomnia – I got Emma 2 months ago and it’s been the best sleep. I usually have insomnia but with Emma my sleep are long and I’m well rested and usually my arms have this pins and needle feel when I’m sleeping in my old mattress but now there gone ever since I switch to Emma.
