My holiday in November 2025. From the moment I contacted Enterprise Birkenhead they were absolutely brilliant with me. The staff were positive and helpful. It was really lovely to deal with the people I dealt with and I have forgotten their names. They were patient, happy to answer all of my enquiries, pleased in helping me find the vehicle that… Read more
would be most suitable and comfortable for where I would be travelling to (I hired 2 different vehicles within my four week stay in England) I could not of asked for better service with hiring two separate vehicles for when I needed them. The cars were extremely comfortable and clean. I told them that I will definitely be back BIRKENHEAD :)
I would like to commend Enterprise Rent-A-Car for their professionalism and integrity in resolving a payment issue that was not directly caused by them. There was a serious payment discrepancy with my booking through Airport Rental, where I was required to pay again at collection despite a deposit already being charged. Unfortunately, Airport… Read more

I reached out to Enterprise Rent-A-Car directly for assistance. Their customer service team was understanding, and proactive in investigating the matter. Most importantly, they took ownership of the situation and arranged for the refund to be sent to me.
Although the issue did not originate from Enterprise, they stepped up to resolve it efficiently and professionally. I truly appreciate their accountability and customer-focused approach. Thank you to the Enterprise team for making things right.
The day after I returned my car, $122 came missing out of my account. $82 of this was for the extra kilometres I did, which I have no issue with. The other $40 they have told me is some sort of 32% airport tax, which I've never heard of as a company. Basically, what they are saying is that because I did extra kilometres, I'm then charged $30 in tax. That is a disgraceful lie. Show details

The hire car I prebooked and prepaid from Enterprise Laval was substituted for another vehicle that was partially fuelled, dirty and unroadworthy. tyre as he stated tyre was bald/no tread, car was unroadworthy and vehicle required tow away. No replacement vehicle was received, no refund for car hire paid with no vehicle. Enterprise charged my visa Euro2500 (unauthorised) for tyre replacement. They charged me (the client) for an unroadworthy vehicle. I have since heard from other customers who have rented vehicles from Enterprise that Enterprise rely on the fact that customers have travel insurance that they utilise for maintenance and replacement programmes for their vehicles. In other words Enterprise are happy to rent unroadworthy vehicles that are dangerous, that fail and utilise renters insurance to repair. Will never rent from Enterprise again. Beware.

Read very carefully, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY AS YOU WILL GET SCAMMED. They also trade as: Alamo & National. On pick up @ Zürich airport they had only one staff, which were very hard to find and they do not go over the vehicle on handover. On pick up, the car was not washed and filthy outside. The multi story car park is dark so hard to see paint… Read more
work of car to inspect. It was noted that it had a few existing scratches and a door knock described as a dent. On return there are 5+ staff, (working like detectives to make $$$$) that go through the car, we were astonished to notice they run their hands UNDER the bumper, (this was mentioned by other Google reviews). It was noted by Alamo that there was a, “SMALL” scratch hardly noticeable as in the pic attached. 2 months later we received an invoice for $3,034 Aud for the SMALL SCRATCH!! I asked them to supply the repair invoice, obviously there is none. What they do is note the SMALL SCRATCH on the next hirer, pretty cheeky. Alamo will cash in on each small scratch what a lucrative scam. Check their Google reviews 1.3 rating confirms how dodgy this company is CHECK THE EVIDENCE OF THEIR OVERPRICED CHARGING AND YOU BE THE JUDGE!!
Criminals – Booked and paid for a premium vehicle. Apon arrival to pick up was refused as they don't recognise a Mastercard as a credit card. Instead given a non roadworthy standard car with torn wipers and faulty mirrors.
Touring around England – Two Australian ladies. Rented a car in England for two weeks. Great service, we were picked up from the train in Crewe and then driven from their office to the train station in Exeter when leaving the car. Beautiful, almost new car. Reasonable cost. Deposit returned quickly. No hassles whatsoever! Would definitely recommend.
Big scammers – People are scam don’t deal with them Charge me without give me the service Show details

I booked a vehicle through Enterprise Brisbane Airport to visit my gravely ill mother in the hospital. What followed was a systemic failure of service and a complete lack of basic human decency. Despite arriving on a domestic flight, my… Read more
confirmation directed me to the International Terminal. Upon arrival, the desk was unmanned due to "staff shortages." Signage directed us back to the Domestic Terminal. After shuttling back with my wife and young child, we discovered the Domestic office was already closed. No email, no SMS, and no alternative arrangements were made. Stranded at midnight, we were forced to take a taxi to our accommodation.
Post-Incident Conduct: It has been over two weeks of radio silence. Customer service lines ring out indefinitely. When I finally tracked down the Brisbane Airport Manager, her response was appalling. She attempted to deflect all liability to Booking.com and, move over, had the audacity to blame me for the taxi costs, suggesting I should have used public transport at midnight with a child.
To be absolutely clear, Enterprise have taken our money and we received no vehicle at all, no customer service, additional out of pocket expenses, No attempt from management, or anyone to rectify the situation, no explanation or any communication of any type. Enterprise has absolutely no care factor when it comes to its customers. Save your self the headaches and do not use this company.
Legal Reality: Enterprise needs a refresher on the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). Under Statutory Consumer Guarantees, services must be provided with due care and skill and be fit for purpose. Deflecting responsibility to a booking agent does not absolve the service provider of their legal obligations.
Because Enterprise refuses to resolve this civilly, I am escalating this matter to the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT), the Office of Fair Trading, and the ACCC regarding:
Failure to provide services with due care and skill.
Misleading conduct and false representation.
Failure to provide a service within a reasonable time.
To other consumers: Do not accept "company policy" as an excuse for being stranded. Your rights under the ACL override their internal terms. If you are treated this way, lodge a claim with QCAT immediately. Enterprise Brisbane Airport has shown they lack the competence and integrity to manage basic travel requirements.
Follow-up · Update After almost two weeks attempting to resolve this issue, I initially struggled to reach anyone in senior management at Enterprise Rent-A-Car who was able to properly address the situation. be holding $2000 on my card wth, I said can we go look at photos before i rented, he said there's no one at office, suspicious? I should of took photos but I did look and it was so small like 10mm, anyway thought it would be ok, don't need a full screen, adterc1 week they emailed me saying they had to replace whole windscreen, I asked for before and after photos, they sent dated photos 1 was what looked like new screen , but like 10ft from car, and with sun glare on it, other had 2 circled marks, but not in same area as pointed out when I returned, feels like an easy scam , cos if they use damaged screen and you don't take proof photo , they could do that time and time again, no open office, looks like different photos with glare??? I will never ever use Enterprise or alamo ever again, i used them for over 10 years, beware people take photos everytime , I used too but got caught out this time, seems the young gentleman went straight to chip ???

cut in the tyre. There is a small nick. Old tyres nick easier than good tyres. To add insult to injury they took my entire £300 to pay for a tyre that online shows at £85. Add fitting and balancing and you don't get to £300. I consider this to be price gouging. Buyer beware! Enterprise do not play fair.
Follow-up · To add insult to injury, Enterprise hit my credit card for the £300 deposit to cover the repair and then hit it again for £178.30 for the actual repair. £100.30 for the tyre and £78 for "admin fee". on 1st January they admitted their error yet have made no effort to refund the £300 deposit. Their business practices should be looked at by the officials.

some NZ$300 for a puncture repair. Not sure how many people they've caught with this one.
Still waiting to get the money back from Expedia's insurance - but that's another post.

a broken wing mirror, and a filthy windscreen making it undriveable. Reluctantly, they cleaned the windscreen. Then we found leftover food and drink containers inside this garbage truck. We couldn't use it in Spain because of the narrow streets so parked it and used taxis. When we took it back, we were told it was perfect. So perfect, they charged us another 200 Euros, which we are still fighting to get back. As other reviewers note, a thoroughly untrustworthy car hire company.

Avoid Enterprise Lyon at All Costs – Dishonest and Untrustworthy I prepaid for a car for 24 hours and returned it well before the required 11am deadline. things quietened down. I even mentioned the faulty brakes, which he claimed he’d immediately have checked by a mechanic. I trusted the process and left in good faith, grabbing lunch before catching my 1pm train to Paris.
To my shock, I later discovered that Enterprise fraudulently charged me for an extra day, claiming I didn’t return the vehicle until 6pm—a time when I was already hours away in Paris. Despite providing proof, including train tickets and even suggesting they check their own CCTV footage (which would confirm I returned the car before 11am), Enterprise still refuses to issue a refund. Worse still, they initially acknowledged the mistake and said they would process the refund—only to backflip and keep the charge.
This is not just incompetence—it’s dishonest. Enterprise Lyon clearly punishes customers for their own flawed internal processes and lack of accountability.
Do yourself a favour: avoid this branch and this company entirely. There are plenty of other rental agencies in the exact same location, many of which are far more reliable and customer-focused—and easier to access.
Enterprise has proven itself to be untrustworthy, unprofessional, and unethical.
I tried for one month to rent a one way rental without success and when I rented a return rental there was a 200.00 difference between two different Enterprise location

credit card as a temporary deposit. After returning the car in perfect condition on 21 June, we were shocked to find our card had been charged a total of £416.83, not refunding the holding amount as promised.
After returning to Sydney, we called Enterprise on 27 June, 04 July, 09 July, 10 July & 11 July. Staff initially told us the charge had been reversed – it hadn’t. Then we were told we’d been charged for “excess protection,” something we never agreed to, as we already had full cover via Amex and our travel insurance.
Despite assurances from both the manager and the staff member who checked us in that they’d “get back to us,” no one ever did. We’ve now called and emailed multiple times – all ignored. They’ve even stopped answering our calls, likely because they recognise the Australian number.
This is completely unacceptable. Enterprise added charges we didn’t authorise, misled us, and then ghosted us when we tried to resolve it. We expected far better from a global company. Travellers beware: once they’ve got your money, they may stop answering altogether.
After posting our first review in the company’s website we then went through the complaints procedure by emailing care@enterprise which is supposedly their complaint department.
They too were not interested & we got absolutely nowhere. Their response was that they would get the WGC branch to contact me but we had already been down that track to no avail. This company is so unprofessional & dishonest. Avoid them!!

class In form of compensation I was told I would receive a £10 a day discount for the duration of our 15 day hire agreement This I was informed would be funded to my credit card. carefully check everything. On handing back I was faced with a load of items that I had allegedly done in 24 hours including taking the spare wheel and inflation kit and numerous small dents and scrapes. I know that I had no incidents during the rental. This led to an invoice for £2000 of damage, 'conveniently' the total that I could be liable for. Luckily I had insurance to cover this but still I am disgusted by their actions. So beware of this Enterprise scam especially if you hire in Southampton. Also, I wrote with my concerns to the CEO but as you might expect there has been no response. AVOID
I have just returned from an amazing holiday to Ireland. We hired a car from Enterprise car rental. I would like to recommend this company because the whole process exceeded my expectations. Ash and the team were super. Upgraded me to an Audi (a dream to drive - even tells you when to change gears. Remember to press down on the gear stick to find reverse). Forget including the toll option. It didn't work, so was reimbursed. Only a few tolls that were easily paid with the card tap. Driving across the border to Northern Ireland was not a problem. Tip - make sure you choose accommodation with secure on site parking in Northern Ireland. Abbey at the drop off at Dublin airport was great. They only worry about dents golf ball size. No worries at all. They care about customer service. Quick shuttle to terminal 1 to catch the flight home. Didn't get the excess protection insurance because it is included in the free credit card travel insurance. Just need to use the card. No nightmare experiences or hard sell with Enterprise. We will be using them again on our next trip. Just be careful when you organise the UK ETA to only use the official site with the GOV email. I fell for a look alike site that overcharged.
