Sadly the entertainment book is no longer a great and easy way to save money. The new system of purchasing a discount code, then using that code to purchase a gift card, before using that gift card to pay the bill takes away any chance of… Read more
spontaneity. Thus proceeds can take up to 4 days. The interface is also so poorly designed that even staff at a restaurant accepting these gift cards couldn’t figure out how to do it.
I always loved looking through the paper book, getting ideas and simply cutting out the voucher for my chosen venue. It is sad that the entertainment book has been turned into a complicated, waste of time.. seemingly to deter purchases of the book to actually utilise the discounts they have paid for.
This will be the last time I purchase an entertainment book.
Follow-up · The old process was to take the coupon with you and hand it in. Discount applied on the spot. At one point when digital first started you just showed the barcode in the app to receive your code. This allowed you to receive discounts even if you made a last minute decision to go out. I haven’t had any interaction with entertainment book, the staff… Read more
The book used to be great, but now for many of the popular pubs and restaurants you have to jump through hoops with a 3 stage process to purchase a "gift card" from a other company, then convert it to the restaurant, then hope they email it through in time to use. All for a measly 14% off! And in my case the process hasn't worked, the pub… Read more
couldn't help me despite being advised they have their own "portal" to find my details and I had to settle the meal without discount.
Now assuming I'll recieve my $150 gift card at later date and be stuck with it when I have no plans to go back there!
Whole system is a joke and have been disillusioned by the process. There are better free apps for food discounts out there, I use "eat club" more often.
Do not recommend until the entertainment book reverts to how they used to be.
Awful interface for both app and website on desktop. Several offers did not work when I was ready to use them. When I complained and requested a refund they refused because it was over 30 days after purchase - even though the membership is for 12 months of offers. No value for money at all. Highly recommend avoiding spending money on this. Several years ago it used to be full of high value offers that worked well. Now that is gone.

Got to love a discount… – The membership was gifted in an accommodation package we purchased. It is handy to have if you were going to travel and wanted to save some money. I found it to be great in Gold Coast area of Queensland where it has deals on food and attractions. I do believe more could be added due to the number of establishments in the area. On a big trip with… Read more · 1
bigger numbers, every dollar saved counts. Also needs to look into having discounts for day passes into attractions and not just bulk packages.
So glad I purchased the "entertainment" app ! – I'm so glad I decided to purchase the entertainment app . It has opened my eyes to many different places to eat that I had never thought of . The discounts are great and 20% of the $70 purchase price for the app goes towards a charity of your choice which I think is great . I also received a $20 visa debit card . Iuse the app all the time , it's great value ! Show reply
Bring back the book. The Ap is not easy to use. Glitchy and there just aren't that many offers these day – App is very glitchy. When looking at several restaurant options, ap needs to be restarted to see each ones reviews. Otherwise you only see the reviews from the first restaurant in your search. (You have to be on the ball to realise they are not the correct ones, then restart the ap - inconvenient and potentially misleading). Only a few restaurants… Read more
in big cities. Also, you used to be able to use two vouchers at a restaurant with 4 guests and two memberships. This is fair as both couples are paying members. Bring back the book for easy scolling. The ap "nearby search" rarely works and you can't search for restaurants. You have to search a number of different categories. Some are "fine dining", some are other categories.

Membership activation code not honoured – Just called customer helpline explaining that my membership activation code was showing as invalid and asking for some help. I was told that the activation code had expired and there was nothing they could do. I had 3 to activate (only wanted to do 1) but was firmly told that I should have read the terms and conditions as the codes expire within… Read more
90 days. I therefore asked for a refund on these unused codes and was told this was not possible. I also asked who gets to keep the money for these unused codes as this seemed a bit underhand given that the terms and conditions are not clear at the outset and the activation codes certainly do NOT show an expiry date on the receipt email... I was told I should have read their T&C's as it states this in one of their paragraphs!! Anyway, just be careful people as this was not a very helpful company and judging by my experience today customer service do not want to help and prefer to hide by the small print even when it was proved that this was a genuine oversight. Legally they may be right, but morally I feel for the relatively small sums involved it is bad for customer relations when they have already taken your money. I certainly wont be bothering with them in the future.

Always get receipt and check how much you are paying for. Do not use Anita Gelato voucher – Attached a photo of my receipt. I went to Anita Gelato Bondi and got 4 small scoops. I paid and used one of the entertainment voucher 2 for 1. So i should be just paying for 3 small gelatos. When proceeding to pay she told me it was 33.82. I asked as in their board it said 7.20 for a small gelato. She said its public holiday. So okay fair enough… Read more
but i said shouldnt it be 25 dollars if im only paying for 3. She said no there is still surcharge. So i said how odd. But okay just give me receipt. Upon reading receipt it clearly showed i am paying for 4 gelatos + 1 complimentary so really it was 5 scoops. I explained it to her but she insisted when she types in 3 gelatos it still comes up as 33 aud. I got pretty annoyed and showed it in my calculator as it is a simple math (8.28x 3 vs 8.28 x 4). She seemed she was even more annoyed at me and I didnt want to argue anymore to someone that i knew didnt look like would listen to me.. but please be aware of this when availing vouchers. Seems like it was either that lady that served me didnt know what she was doing or some merchants scam customers and are not genuine about their vouchers. Pretty sad as I would not want to go back to that place anymore because of that experience.

I tend to agree; I don't appreciate the latest offers - Entice etc. However, the main reason I keep paying the $70 membership a year is for 4% off my Woolworths bill. Yes, it's a bit of a mess-around having to pre-purchase vouchers, but certainly worth saving $624 a year with (on average) a $300 shop each week. Show reply
***EDIT: Heidi took charge and reissued the gift card and her communication about the issue has been great. It sounds like she's doing her best to turn things around so I've now changed the review to reflect her help.*** I’ve been a customer on and off for years, but the decline in value since COVID has been noticeable. because of the multi-city membership and gift card offer.
Following their own advice, I waited until my old membership expired before activating the new one. The gift card wasn’t sent separately and I eventually found the link obscured in the receipt email, and it expired after just 30 days.
When I asked for a replacement, the company refused, pointed me to the terms and conditions, and then stopped responding when I requested escalation.
After checking online, I discovered many others have had the exact same experience. It’s hard not to conclude this is intentional—designed to minimize the number of vouchers actually redeemed.
A company that hides behind fine print instead of honoring its promises is not one I can recommend.
Great value for money and good quality dining venues – I have really enjoyed using the app to search for nearby restaurants whilst in Australia on business for a week. After using the app once I have recovered half of my annual subscription already and made a donation to an Australian charity. Show reply

I renewed my membership again this year and paid $70 for the multi city membership and was promised a $30 voucher. this was in September, I emailed them in early October and was told, it would usually take 30 days, so I emailed them again in early November and was told there has been a delay and waiting period is now 30-60 days. It is now the end of December and still no voucher!!!

I always like to use Entertainment app for my restaurant booking but recently I went to a restaurant and gave a very bad review and entertainment app ask me to withdraw it and promised to give a new discount again. I agreed but found out the restaurant has been doing it the wrong way few times and I am not going back. This year I renewed the app… Read more
with a 20 dollar VISA voucher ( as usual came very late ) I will be forgotten if not the reminder. I did forgot to use it and they expired after 3 month. normally visa card come with 1 year. I have talked to the Entertainment app service department and they showed me it is their term and conditions. I will not be using this app again.
I renewed my membership on 24/9/25. The new membership involved a multi-city deal costing $70, however included a bonus $30 gift card. I activated the receival of the gift card with a promise that I would receive it within 28 days via email. On the 27/10 I contacted them as it had not arrived. I was told to wait about 10 days and it should arrive.… Read more
It hadn’t been received by 17/11 so I contacted them again and was told it was a problem with the supplier and it would be followed up and I would be advised the status. I have been with Entertainment for up to 20 years on and off and I don’t know if this bonus gift card incentive to renew is a scam or what!

The number of participating restaurants and cafes with buy one get one free or 25% off are becoming fewer and are replaced but a 14% Entice gift card which you have to purchase in advance and claim back. The app is clunky and hard to use.

To be honest I buy this constantly and have done for years. Not sure who the company is that runs it but it is virtually impossible to get anyone. They offer specials and vouchers etc if you purchase by a certain time. When you do there are no vouchers or specials then you are sent a generic message you were too late! While I'm always happy to support a charitable institution I think the people running this are not so above board! Show details

Entertainment Aust. have sacked their Australian call centre/sales employees and now employ overseas call takers. Just another Australian business taking jobs opportunities from Aussies - I won’t be paying for their services/products ever again.
Totally confused and dissatisfied with the new Entice Dining e-gift cards. I feel I have wasted my money on a that was once a good idea now I have to spend an hour working out how to get my discount. Not what I want to do while I’m out dining.

The varieties of offers were much better 10 years ago. I have been buying these books for more than 10 years. Wish you could go back to the old model. Now we have to buy an Entice Dining Gift Card before you go to the restaurant and also you have to use the app. If, like me, you use the laptop, you don't have a card that you can take to the restaurant, you have to use your phone app. Show details

Great fundraiser, big discounts – Great way to help fundraise without having to buy silly or unhealthy products and with the many discounts on offer I’ve made my money back on the first purchase or two! It also makes me try new restaurants I might not have otherwise. Show reply
Love our Entertainment App – We have enjoyed the Entertainment Book over the decades and made great use of the dining offers in particular. We now have an Entertainment App which is easy to use and since purchasing this time we have already used it three times, with great success. There are multiple restaurants and cafes in our area and we look forward to using the app on a regular basis. Show reply

Great to try new places – I must admit I did love the books! as felt I didn't miss anything but have grown to accept the app and move forward. It's great value particularly with the cash visa included and I've just booked flights to the UK with a 10% discount so that was amazing - plus my parents are here from England and we are making good use of the vouchers in the area so it's been great to try some new venues saving money along the way. Great variety of savings – Great value with all the offers here. Just buying Woolworths gift cards provides a great saving year round. 25%off dining at many restaurants too. Flights and hotels too. I saved $400 just on 2 overseas flights. Simple to use . Show reply
very worthwhile to buy – Love the membership but I wish it would only give you the name of restaurants in my area not the other side of the bay. Also rarely does the link to the menu work. Wish there were more restaurants listed Show reply
Worth a try – Great way to do charity and receive a benefit too. Must admit 25% is better than the 14% that restaurants were offering but many still do the 25% so all good. Staff at entertainment books are always very helpful too. We have been members for more years than I can remember. It's great. Show reply
Buy one every year – We love the entertainment book- and not just for saving money! We use it to discover new places to dine which has led to us discovering some hidden gems. If you don’t mind exploring where you eat and want to get some great deals, I highly recommend purchasing one of these. Show reply
Flaky app, less offers – This is the first time I've bought the Entertainment Book since we're were left high and dry during Covid, the book suddenly became useless and there was no offer you extend or anything. Have to now use the app, which would be fine if it worked properly. The app is difficult to search for restaurants in a particular area. There are definately less establishments participating and there offers are not as good. I'm not sure if I'll try it again

Not great value anymore – I've been buying these for over 15 years, but there is very little value in the membership for us anymore. Very few of the restaurants/cafes in our area participate anymore, and over the last few years quite a few that were listed declined to honor the discount as they had either changed hands or become completely different businesses (ie Italian cafe became a Thai cafe).

WELL WORTH IT! – I have had an Entertainment Book for 20+ years now. It’s great that it’s now a digital book which updates regularly and can be shared with numerous devices/users. AND the proceeds go to a worthy cause, ie Animal Refuges! Show reply
