Took 2 hours to get a call back. Horrible customer service. Apparently they don’t cover anyone under 30? Is this new because I can’t find that info anywhere on the website….. Show details

Made it hard to take your business – Spent a week emailing the team to enact policy renewal, only to be requested at the end to send a photo of odometer and call the team by phone to pay. I waited 15 minutes on the phone before I just gave up and signed up to Truecover which took about 5 minutes to sign up to at a similar price. This is prefaced by the fact that when trying to just… Read more
renew online it said it would require a team member to call me back during a business hours (as this was done on a Saturday), by Friday the following week I needed to email them requesting an update as nobody was in contact with me - All while my car was uninsured.
I've never had an issue with the people from the company, polite and knowledgable and i've had 2 cars with them spanning over 5 years, but it shouldn't be this difficult to enact a policy or renew one especially if another company can onboard me within 5 minutes using an online quote and portal. The car being insured was a 2008 AUDM Toyota FYI. Management should be keen to have a review on the system they provide their staff.
Highly recommended for all motor vehicle enthusiasts – Been with Enthusiasts for a number of years now, find that they are very easy to deal with even when making policy changes and listen to your needs to find a solution. Never an issue and always very friendly and understanding. With cover that allows me to choose my own repairer, NCB and entitled to the wreck if written off, as well as windscreen… Read more
replacement, the cover is perfect for my cars.
The only thing you have to be mindful of, (and this is why the insurance is competitive on price), is it is nominated driver only. If someone drives your car and they are not listed, then you are not covered…. But who wants someone else to drive your car anyway? I have immediate family on my policies so I am covered, but friends cannot drive my car.
Yet to make a claim but I imagine knowing the small but passionate staff, I feel completely confident that I won’t have issues. Edit: Made a claim Dec 2023 and was streamless. Very happy
Noticed a few negative 1 star ratings here, all because they can’t contact the team straight away? I’ve never had an issue… yes sometimes they take an hour or two if they are busy, but that’s the beauty of personalised service, not just a call centre. Highly recommended

Easy and smooth transactions – dealt with a staff member by the name of Shane. Shane was fantastic and heard what I needed to say and understood how I verify the valuation of my pride and joy. Insured my Vs SS under its current market value which was a lot more then other competitors and realistic valuation with the current market values. Was insured with Lumley, after a year… Read more
and installing a sunroof and brand new wheels and tyres, believed that the value did not change, mind you cannot replace my vehicle like for like. Lumley staff said there was not enough evidence of those cars at current and could not justify the value. When I asked where they get their valuations from, he said gumtree, carsales etc. but also said that the seller never gets what they want. so far there has been nothing under $25k equivalent condition to my car at this stage registered and RWC. Well done Enthusiest Car Insurance. I have now referred you to 2 others so far and its been only 24 hours since cover started. Thanks again Shane .

Seems to be a good company, good cover and well prices. And they are freindly and helpfull. The one downside i have found is. There's no online login to pay late payments or anything, and to call them you spend over a half an hour everytime. But all n all a good company. Show details · 2
Full payout after car theft – My car was stolen last year. Enthusiast was quick to respond to my calls. They investigated my incident, and deemed my car a total loss after it wasn't found within 4 weeks. They paid out the agreed value, without any issues. Good experience overall. The staff were pleasant and easy to deal with. Show details
I can’t complain at all, pleasant experience – After purchasing the vehicle I had always wanted I flew to melb from Perth to buy the vehicle, unfortunately it turned into a disaster trip and long story short the vehicle caught fire over the Nullarbor, leaving me completly stranded… I’ve always been wary of car insurance companies thinking would they pay out had something ever happen, well this… Read more
was my first major claim in a very long time and I must say although I waited a while due to where the car was enthusist insurance paid out with no dramas whatsoever,I provided everything they needed and my money has been paid,I have multiple vehicles with enthusist and will always continue to use them. Would I recommend them? Absolutely

Tried to get a quote for my Skyline today, totally bog standard, owned for 20 years by myself a 65 year old driver with no claims and clean licence, refused to quote me? No explanation nothing? Seems a dodgy company to me? Show details
First thing, i have NOT had a claim and hope i never will. If you have a vehicle that does not do many km's it's probably the best cheapest option out there especially if you want a decent agreed value for cars that other companies may think are worthless. The most annoying part and reason for 3 stars is not having any way to update details online coupled with the LONG wait when you call in. I've had to call a few times and it's just painful. I believe that if it ain't broke, don't fix it... so when the competition dropped the ball, the decision to come over was easy. Having had some initial conversations with the Enthusiast team to answer questions on policies and how it works, I finalised everything just recently and saved an absolute bundle, including doing away with the flawed… Read more
'can only drive a fixed number of days a year' rule.... so now the family and I can actually enjoy the cars we own. A shout-out to the team member who spent time on the phone capturing my details and making sure the policy was set up to provide the coverage we wanted. To anyone considering who to use for insurance on a special vehicle, do yourself a favour and get a quote for the ride, and the chances are you'll be able to drive it more, have better coverage and save money.
Not happy with increased premium for more than 10,000km a year – Not happy with the fact I have to pay nearly a $1,000 a year to insure my car because I have to drive up to 10,000km per year because I live rural and a trip to the nearest decent supermarket or a medical specialist is at least 200km return trip. I don't use the car for work or commute in peak hour traffic, it really only gets driven once or twice a fortnight. Show details

Happy customer – Great service by a gentleman called Lewis, knew exactly what he was talking about and got the job done for me. On top of that gave me a better deal than Shannon’s. Thank you Lewis for you’re great customer service. Show details · 1
No reviews of claiming – This page gives a 57% good reviews but they only deal with getting a quote or the premiums charged. A review of interest to potential customers is primarily related to how that insurance company deals with claims in the real world. It doesn't matter at all how polite they are when giving quotes. The buck stops when they have to pay out and these… Read more
reviews don't cover that issue. 57% of polite response from the company isn't any indication of what potential new clients want to know. So how about getting reviews of claims made.

Excellent insurance service and very honest – My car is highly modified. I recently renewed my car insurance and the assessor(Tim Ross) was very helpful. The assessor noticed that I could save over $300 because my last year km car travelled was much less than what I wanted to set my car annual km travel limit for my renewal. This was unexpected and very welcome. Highly recommend Show details · 1
Multi year - multi policy holder – Currently 2 cars with them - 1 performance +mods, 1 classic. Both agreed value easy interface and prompt replies. Contacted them to get multi policy discount and that was approved. Haven't had any claims as yet, but happy with pricing and conditions to this point. Show details
Mote trouble than they are worth! – I recently contacted Tim from Enthusiasts Car Insurance for vehicle insurance to cover my collection of 12 vehicles, many of which do nil km’s per year. Tim was helpful and asked for details on who I was currently with and if I could supply details of each vehicles as per Shannon’s my current insurer. This I do and in due course a quotation was… Read more
provided. However there has now been a request to supply photographs of all vehicles garages along with what seems to be pre and post photographs of the speedometer of all vehicles to verify the actual mileage travelled. If any mileages are over the estimate given a supplementary charge will apply. Not sure if any vehicles don’t make the yearly estimate whether they will rebate each premium? Is this the norm for this company as Shannon’s was a lot more straight forward. I am only looking at options for alternate insurers as Shannon’s decided to increase most of my vehicle reinsure pricing by 25%. No claims, based in a rural Tasmanian location but apparently due to claims in other states due to fire and floods I get to pay an extra 25% over the previous year. Has anyone else been asked to photograph their vehicles in their garages as well as supply photographs of before and after speedometer pics for all vehicles? Seems like more of an inconvenience than they are worth!
Won't insure car with damage – As we all know with insurance companies you have to dot the i's and cross the t's. When filling out a quote request it asked if the car had pre-existing damage. I touched the question mark and it said was there any damage that hadn't been repaired. Because the car has minor dents and scratches and a little bit of rust being a 56 year old car I… Read more
said yes. They never contacted me to ask me what the damage was and just sent me a NO! we won't insure you. The two other companies I contacted for a quote actually took the time to phone me to clarify what damage there was. I happily provided photographs of the entire car and was able to secure insurance with one of them.
Very disappointed – Try to renew my policy and im very disappointed about they approach . They like to insure cars for up to 4000 km a year this is a joke (like driving to the church ) and the guy on the phone says high kilometers " IS NOT IN OUR APETITE". “Nana’s Insurance” would be a more appropriate name – Read the bad reviews. A previous reviewer was probably right about the positive reviews. There are businesses that specialise in getting businesses fake reviews. Stay well away from this dodgy lot. They hate paying out, even if it’s a small amount and not your fault. They call themselves “Enthusiast”, but their conditions are so brutal they are… Read more
more suited to a Nana who drives her car only to church and the shops once a week. Their staff “lead you up the garden path” by giving you the wrong advice over the phone. THEY EVEN TRY TO RENEG ON WHAT EXECUTIVES PUT IN WRITING. An unknown person scraping my car in a car park was according to them “my fault”, as was an incident where I ran through a thin wire fence (no marking tape), closing off a bypass track next to a grid. (It only caused scratches). It wasn’t there during the day. Going back in fading light, I saw it too late. They didn’t even try to recover from the property owner who blocked the bypass to control his livestock, then blamed me for not answering a question they didn’t ask. If you have a dispute with them, they refer you to a so called “independent” arbitrator who happens to be the party named on your monthly premiums (Asset Insure). If they refuse to correct their bad behaviour, best contact AFCA. One call to Shannons got me much better coverage and a cheaper premium.
better than shannons – Had a japanese import insured with Shannons before COVID, as the market changed and the prices went up Shannons would not let me change the insured value of the car... An absolute hassle to deal with. Cancelled with shannons and went with enthusiast, chose the kms I wanted to drive it and never had any arguments when adjusting the value of the car. Show details

Understanding and knowledgeable – My husband and I had been told about Enthusiast Motor Insurance through a car club we just joined for our Classic cars. concerns put to rest and Jamie made sure all my questions were answered. Nothing was a hassle and she guided me through the quoting process with ease, mind you this is usually my husbands forte. Other insurers make me feel silly because I'm not a "rev head", but my conversation on the phone today was effortless.
Thank you Jamie, and thank you Enthusiast Motor Insurance for halving my annual premium!
Due to floods they won't insure – Enthusiast won't insure me because my car was stuck in the recent Sydney floods. Apparently mother nature raining for a month and flooding half the city somehow is my fault Show details
Unfair – I was with this insurance company for 3 years. No claims then and no claims now. What a great company to deal with! – I recently had the pleasure of talking to Jamie from Brisbane. This woman is extremely knowledgeable and you can tell she is passionate about what she does. Exceptional Claims Service and fantastic value!!! – Recently I was involved in a major car accident where a 200 tonne semi truck plowed into the back of my very rare C300 Mercedes Benz that cost $113,000 when purchased new. back today and it is in better condition than before the accident. The panel shop remarked to me that Enthusiast was fantastic to deal with and they couldn’t recommend them highly enough with how they treated my claim. Leanne in particular in claims provides personal service and attention to detail in getting things done that you just can’t get from bigger insurance companies. I phoned Leanne yesterday to personally thank her for getting my repairs approved in the same week as the accident. I was so impressed with the way that whole process was handled and I’d recommend Enthusiast to anyone - as I agree that you can only judge an insurance company after you have made a claim. They are excellent.
I was paying almost $2,800 per year with my previous insurer and enthusiast was able to offer me a superior insurance product with agreed value and windscreen cover and hire car for 50% less than my old insurer. I will not name them as I don’t want the legal issues but they were one of the larger companies.
If you want personalised service and honest value for money and most importantly being able to chose your OWN REPAIRER as I did / you can’t go past enthusiast. Many insurers send you to their own repairers that do sub standard repairs to save them money and I’d make sure in insuring my vehicle that you can chose your own repairer.
5 stars!!!
Well done Leanne! Love your work! ❤️
