Fresh is best!
I just got my new Enviroswim ES3 pool set up and commissioned by Platinum Pool and Spa Centre on the Gold Coast. I live in Southport and Platinum Pool Care came highly recommended by Enviroswim themselves. I got them to supply, install and commission the Enviroswim system for me and they did a cracking job. The process involved draining the existing water to a level which was sufficient to reduce the chemical content in the water. They then refilled the pool with fresh water and that was that!
So stoked with our decision to go with Enviroswim and Platinum!

Great product for a chemical free fresh water pool.
We purchased a property with the Enviroswim system already installed and we are really happy with its performance.
Once you become familiar with its operation and with minimal maintenance this system produces sparkling clear fresh water for your swimming pool.
What a difference a chemical free pool makes and we would highly recommend you consider this system when installing your pool.
Amazing product, Soft water and No Smell
Once you have used this product it is so responsive, simple and most of all easy. The water is clear, soft and no smells. We only ad acid to our pool and twice a year a few kilo's of Bi Carb Soda.... We tried another brand which didn't work at all. As soon as we swapped to Enviroswim our pool has been magnificant. We have had Enviroswim for 6 years... Andrea & Rohan
We have struggled with our enviroswim pool for over 12 months. Trying to get the Ph right has been a trial. While all the brochures say test once a month and get a pool shop test every three months, we have been testing almost weekly.
We have never been able to get our copper far above zero. The equipment was replaced by our pool company and still no copper.
We have found that you need to use much more acid than advertised. Our pool shop said this is the case for everyone. Our pool installer is trying to deal with enviroswim to find out what’s happening but so far nothing.
We love swimming in the fresh water but really the whole system has not lived up to its claims at all.
Sales experience only
To be upfront I don't own one of these units; my review is based only on customer experience with their sales team. Their lack of responsiveness didn't fill me with confidence so I've looked elsewhere for a unit to replace my salt chlorinator.
I sent an email to Enviroswim asking for some details on where I could buy their system and the cost, together with some basic details on installation, but got no response. I then tried calling them but the lady on the phone had literally no idea about their products (didn't know what this ES3 unit was..., its price or how to buy). She told me to look on their website - she mentioned she had just started but you would think some basic training would be provided before being put in that position. Was told I would be called by one of the more experienced staff, but never heard back.
ES3 staining issue finally resolved
After 4-5 years trouble free pool I noticed white staining on the sides of my pool. it later progressed to the floor. Enviroswim blamed the gel coat, my pool supplier suggested it was the Enviroswim unit. My pool supplier took scrapings for testing at a lab at their cost($$). Results could not determine why it was happening. In the end my pools supplier offered to drain & polish pool to remove staining for free. The pool is 6 years old way out of warranty. He could not guarantee that the stain would not return with the enviroswim unit & offered...me a salt water alternative at an amazing reduced price. You spend's 40-50K on updating an outdoor space with the pool being the centre piece and it turns sour. Not really happy with the effort enviroswim put in to help solve my problem. After sales service is crap as have no one here (Perth) that understand pools enough & pool staining. I did contact a pool maintenance business here recommended by Enviroswim but they didn't know anything about stains and said you could polish it off at my expense of course. I now have a 4K sanitiser sitting on my outdoor setting. A very expense venture

Love swimming in the crystal clear fresh water
Had this installed with our new pool, admittedly with some hesitation due to the higher price point, despite all the positive reviews, but I have been absolutely amazed at how well it works. I knew I didn't want a chlorine system, as I've never enjoyed the stinging of my eyes or the skin irritation afterwards. I looked into salt water, and also the magnesium-based systems, but for reasons that escape my memory now, I went with the Enviroswim. My pool supplier happily obliged but they had minimal experience with it, so just said "all the best". ...My local pool chemical supplier was downright negative about freshwater systems in general (though they didn't know the Enviroswim system specifically). As mentioned, I am really happy with it, and my whole family (especially my wife) is so glad that we went with this because of the the pleasantness of swimming in fresh water - compared to chlorine and salt water pools. The water is always clean and clear, with the pump running about 8 hours per day throughout spring, summer and now in autumn. I monitor the pH and alkalinity once per week, and the copper once per month. The copper, which is managed through a dial on a control unit, has not needed adjusting after the first month. The pH has been relatively steady with a regular top-up through a controlled constant dosing system that I got installed. The alkalinity is what I've had the biggest trouble with. I added many kilograms of buffer to the water and failed to get it in range for the first 4-5 months, but it finally seems to be settling now - no idea why though. All up, I highly recommend the Enviroswim E3.

Amazing natural superb results!
We built our pool (40,000 Litres) with an Enviroswim ES3 System almost 12 months ago, a standard vacuum & basic water test once a week & all we’ve only ever added since setup & install is a 20Kg bag of salt & 4L of Hydrochloric Acid! It’s truly Amazing!
The water smells & feels constantly pure with great swims, soft skin & no sting...you won’t even need a shower!
Living in Townsville North Queensland we’ve been through significant heat followed by substantial rain & flooding, the Photo added was taken following 2metres of rain over 10 days & ...the sun just reappearing. All that was done was a vacuum, the adding of the one bag of salt & some acid for the PH level. A system that’s easy to use, fool proof & with outstanding back up & support if needed. The results are there to see...every pool should have an Enviroswim ES3. You’ll not only save a fortune each year on chemicals, you’ll love every swim in crystal clear beautiful water which is as close to natural as you’ll get!

Very Happy - Two Summers and hassle free
I purchased the ES3 to move away from chlorine and getter softer water that wouldn't eyes, the garden etc. Very happy with this system. As others have noted scheduled testing of PH etc. and copper is still required, which is fine. It is a very inexpensive system to run. Every swimmer likes the water and I like the comparatively hassle free maintenance

Impressive Piece of Kit
After seeing the ES3 on display at the Adelaide Pool and Spa Show, talking to the local distributor and reading existing reviews on this site, I took the plunge and installed my ES3 in May 2018. I have waited until March 2019 to post this review so I could see how it performed in the more challenging summer months. Happy to say, I'm very impressed. My primary objective was not actually to achieve a near-freshwater solution but to move away from a flawed & expensive Viron Water Balance liquid chlorine dosing system and avoid the need to keep buy...ing liquid chlorine which gets costly in summer. Installation was relatively straightforward although despite being careful, the clear plastic cylinder cracked but the local dealer sold me a replacement quickly. I chose to drain 2/3 of my pool water to get the TDS and chlorine levels down though this did leave some residual chlorine in the water. Since the unit has been running it has exceeded my expectations. My water stays crystal clear right through the year. After commissioning I had some small loose white deposits appear on the pool floor which gave me some concern but that appeared to be triggered by the residual chlorine and did not return after vacuuming. If I go away, I turn the unit off in case of leaks or low pool water levels and chuck some liquid chlorine in to protect the water during this period and the same white deposits appear temporarily once the ES3 is restarted. Within 1 or 2 cycles after restarting, the pool water is beautiful and clear again. I'm now actually experimenting with reducing the pump time down from 5 to 3 hours a day to see if I can reduce power consumption whilst retaining sufficient sanitisation. Room for improvement - The clear plastic cylindrical housing is a little delicate during installation & not sure how well the controller housing will stand up to corrosion over time. It looks to be powder-coated steel and I'm in a salty-air environment which is not a good mix. The controller looks a little dated but this is a small price to pay for reliability. I still retain the Viron Water Balance unit to control the timing and dose liquid acid. Bottom line - so far, so good and would thoroughly recommend the ES3.

Just loving the Fresh water quality
We have had Chlorinated pools for many years , which we were reasonably happy with , but last year it started to be problematic and just I was about to replace the unit my daughter suggested a Chlorine Free pool as our two Grand daughters would be using the pool frequently. I looked into various brands and found it difficult to decide what would be best . Our daughter & son-in-law run their own business “Healthyabode” and they assured me they had done all the homework on the various systems , and conviced me Enviroswim was the best.

Extremely Good Quality Water
My Lap pool is fiberglass with an ES3 hooked up to Intelli chem controller and dosing pumps which inject doses of acid and chlorine in very accurate amounts to get the chemistry of water perfect. The pool is crystal clear and no debris as it is fully enclosed.

15 months on, seems legit.
Mostly awesome. Don't be misinformed about "no added chemicals / labour saving" - you still have to balance your pool's pH via the usual methods. Since switching our 60kL pebblecrete pool from a saltwater chlorinator to the ES3, our pool maintenance workload is unchanged (test pH, manually add ~1L acid, then ~500g bi-carb, then check copper level and adjust output as needed - all this on a weekly basis). After a rocky start due to it not having been set up correctly, our ES3 has gone great for 12 months - consistent and reliable, and the water quality is fantastic.

Just love this pool. No rising after, save water, even wash my hair in it!
Living in Northern NSW, we've had the pool for over three years now. It was chlorine when we bought the house and I couldn't swim due to itching and sore eyes etc plus overall health concerns. Since installing the Enviroswim we couldn't be happier. To be honest it's MUCH less maintenance that I had been told. Almost set and forget once you've established the parameters and got used to the testing procedures. Despite torrential rains at times and then the recent sweltering drought conditions, very little adjustment is needed in my 65,000 ltr p...ebblecrete pool. The children swim underwater all the time with no red eyes, no need to shower after so saving on tank water. No chemicals being absorbed while we swim and I even wash my hair in the pool from time to time (no sudsing chemical free handmade shampoo) with no ill effect on the pool. Two sets of friends have installed the system since swimming in ours. There really is no comparison out there in the market as far as I am aware. Cuts cost dramatically on chemicals as little to none are needed. So I am 100% a fan. As an aside, the charming Carl from customer service was just able to give me some excellent advice with a question I had. I can't fault this system in any way and would highly recommend to anyone considering one.

Great system! Chlorine-free and hassle-free.
We had our Enviroswim installed when we built our pool in late 2014. I was initially sceptical when our pool builders mentioned a non-chlorinated, non-salt system as a possible option, but they put us in touch with another client who'd had it running for a while and they were very happy with it. We decided to go with Enviroswim and are glad we did. Having grown up with a chlorinated pool that required constant attention and chemical adjustments (especially after rain when it would frequently turn green), I've been very impressed with how prob...lem-free this system is. It doesn't need much attention to run smoothly and it doesn't require many chemicals (only hydrochloric acid, buffer and sometimes phosphate remover if leaf litter accumulates); the pool water doesn't smell of chlorine while swimming; you don't smell like chlorine after swimming and your hair doesn't turn green; the pool has never turned green (even after heavy rain). We initially had a pool maintenance man scheduled to visit once a month, then once a quarter, before we told him we no longer needed him because the pool requires so little attention. We don't hesitate to recommend this system to any friends who are building pools. The company has also been very good at answering any queries we've had over the last four years.
Nothing but trouble
High Cooper levels made my
Daughters hair go green rang the pool builder several times he come out and check it and told me to empty half the pool the levels was like 4.8
Then we had trouble with the cell from the start it varies from 6-15 again when I rang the pool company he couldn’t help me he sold the business so he could care less
The perfect solution
We are very happy with Enviroswim, our daughter is a paid swimming instructor in chloride pools and loves a chlorine free pool. We have many visitors who are also very impressed that there is no chlorine. We are very relieved that it is just as effective in the shade. Thanks

With persistence, we are very happy with Enviroswim
After a few initially disappointing months working how best to maintain our 80,000 litre swimming pool with Enviroswim, we are extremely happy with our decision to replace our salt water chlorination system.
Initially we struggled to stop algae growth and we were concerned that we were told that we had to dose the pool with chlorine! However, since discovering that the cause for concern was high levels of phosphate, having since dealt with this, with non-metal phosphate remover and algaecide, we now have crystal clear water that is like stepping into a refreshing bath!
Thank you Enviroswim!
Cell kept clogging up with calcium immediately and company wouldn't replace control unit. Togs smelt
Bought with new pebble-crete pool.
We noticed that a bad smell (brackish water) in our togs after leaving the pool.
The freshwater means mosquitos are attracted and will lay larvae in the pool.
You have to really keep an eye on the copper levels or your pool gets stained or on it can be easy to get algae in the warmer months (mean a non-copper algaecide and/or chlorine anyway defeating the purpose).
After about a year (maybe less) the cell kept getting completely clogged with thick, grey (calcium?) build up. This shouldn't happen. ...The cells are supposed to be self-cleaning through the reverse polarity process. Initially I could handle it happening once or twice a year, but it got worse in the second year and started happing every month or two. I contacted the company for support and they took my control unit away for testing. In the mean time they gave me a loan control unit. While I had the loan unit, the self-cleaning worked perfectly. The company then told me my control unit didn't have a fault, so they removed the loan unit, reinstalled my unit and guess what - the cell stopped self cleaning. Each time I had to clean the cell, putting it all back together often resulted in tiny leaks because the o-rings deteriorated and needed grease or replacement.

Questions & Answers
How does this product compare with the Bionizer system? same?
Enviroswim has the best published efficacy ( ability to produce the desired result) of any swimming pool sanitiser in the World.
What Enviroswim achieved killing algae and bacteria in Australian Govt Labs (NATA accredited) in 30 seconds it took chlorine 15 minutes to achieve.
Enviroswim holds patents on its unique three system process in all major markets in the World.
Enviroswim has been in business for twenty years and has tens of thousands on pools operating all over the world.
Enviroswim passed NSF certification back in 2009, this is a very difficult accreditation to pass and a pre requisite before a pool sanitiser system is allowed to be installed in a public pool in the USA, we are unaware of any other similar pool sanitiser in Australia that has passed any efficacy lab tests never mind both Australian Govt Efficacy testing and NSF.
Enviroswim has been the recipient of many Australian State and Federal Govt grants during our history.
If a pool owner decides to use Enviroswim in their swimming pool they can rest assured that the Enviroswim System has been tested and proven by independent accredited authorities to be able to provide the safest enjoyable swimming water and has passed with exemplary results, as mentioned previously we cant find a product or system that can come near Enviroswim in efficacy test results.
Furthermore Enviroswim has been tested to the highest electrical and EMI (Electro Magnetic Emission) standards in the World, we hold certification in these in all major markets in the World.
What are the effects of adding an algaecide (non coppper) to an older Enviroswim system? Is this just a waste of time and money? Is it a good preventative measure, helping the system to cope in the warmer months? Since I have been doing this for a couple of months I've noticed a reduction in Chlorine levels and a more stable pH. Last summer I was adding HCL on a weekly basis to get pH down from 8.2.
Pool is 100,000 litres, Cu is .2 Cl is .5, pH 7.4, TA 90, Ca 200, TDS 1500.
Thanks for reading
I am looking at purchasing an enviroswim but pool builders I have spoken to don’t know much about it and suggest a mineral pool instead stating that they all create chlorine to sanitise.
Could you tell me what enviroswim’s usual chlorine levels are in comparison to a Magna pool and a traditional salt water pool?
Also who could I talk to around Penrith NSW about purchasing enviroswim?
Hi June2014 thank you for your question.
According to Magnapools data sheet the ideal free chlorine level is between 1 - 3 ppm. Enviroswim ideal level is 0.5 ppm max. The reason for the differences is that all salt pools whether magnesium, sodium or potassium rely 100% on chlorine production for sanitation process by temporary converting chlorides (salts) to chlorine. Enviroswim has three processes namely oxidation, ionisation and ultrasonics. The combination of the three processes provides a much more effective sanitiser than chlorine, up to 30 times faster bacteria kill rate than chlorine at 2 ppm!!! …supporting government papers & lab reports are on our website .
However, this is only part of the overall differences re salt/mineral v’s Enviroswim. On this review site you'll come across many reviewers raving about the water quality of Enviroswim. This is because it is not only very low in chlorine Enviroswim also has ultra low salt levels making Enviroswim a true freshwater pool that adds to the comfort and health benefits for bathers. The mangapool recommended total dissolved solid level (tds) is 5000 ppm compared to Enviroswim 1000 ppm , in fact a balanced Enviroswim pool meets drinking water standards in NZ a salt pool comes nowhere close.
Hope this answers your question. Please contact us 1300888457 if you would like to discuss in more detail.
