The previous tenant in my rental scrubbed all the markings off the stove. I cannot use the oven because I have never used this stove before. I would like to be able to write a positive review for the stove but all I can use is the hot plates and that is trial and error. I would really like a handbook so I can use the stove. All I can comment on is the hot plates and they work just like any other stove hotplates until I can use the oven and the grill.

thanks for the reply, its going to cost more to get the glass then to replace the cooker and considering it was/is a lemon of a unit i think i might try and find a good second hand cooker somewhere

Can't answer, but will tell you that I eventually threw mine out and bought a proper oven - a Bosch. I am amazed by the difference.

I wish I could help, or indicate that this is a common problem. Unfortunately I can't because I hardly ever use the oven. Why? Because temperature is a constant guessing game. The little temperature light indicator fell out of position ages ago, the dial seems to be an exercise in fantasy.

No the oven functions either as a grill or an oven but never at the same time, only ovens with double doors have this capability.

I've never tried it, but it may be possible? I'm just not sure if both sections of top element come on in baking modes???

The grill is in the oven and you can choose which elements to turn on (top or bottom) You cannot leave the oven door open when grilling as it melts the dials on the stove!

There are lots of modes you can run it in, some might use more Power than others? Generally I think new ovens have bigger heating elements than similar ovens from years ago? I don't think there's much power consumption difference between stand alone & wall mount? just my opinion though!

Personal opionion was not what i was looking for as several well intended family and friends have already offered that. The salesman who sold it to them assured them it was in fact energy saving and cost efficient. My question is... Are the sales staff supplying your product accurately informed on the product they are selling or are there more customers being mislead. I'd appreciate an accurate answer on the product itself and not just a personal opinion.

Unfortunately no the element is secured to the cavity of the appliance so is not easily removed.

Not melted but grey markings on knobs have worn off, had to replace bottom element that now will not heat over 100 degrees so need to switch between having both elements on and off and it cost me a fortune for travel for an electrician to fix. (Hence have overcooked a few tops on things) Also enamel around the top glass plate has started to craze. And it is not used much at all. A hotplate or oven would be lucky to be on once a week. Never used as a grill.

Hi Jay The knobs are a Bakelite composition and are heat resistant not heat proof these are approved for use on cooking devices and used by the vast majority of manufactures today. 1 is lowest, smaller hot plates give off less heat, hope that helps

Hi Phil, Good question, as this is not an uncommon query in regards to late model ceramic cooktops We recommend selecting an initial lower setting (say 3) upon commencement of cooking/heating and when the element reaches the temperature (very quickly) and commences its “cycling of heat,” increase the selected temperature to the desired level.

This should result in the heat that you wish.
