I’ve had my policy for about 8 months. Found it when I bought a new car second hand and was looking around for new insurance. Cheapest policy by far and it doesn’t skimp on what you’re covered for. then the repairer contacted me to organise to get it fixed at no cost to myself.
I also love getting up to $10 off with the 10% off a monthly shop at Woolies. Saves up to $120 per year making the policy even better value for money.
The only drawback was the time I had to wait to get into the repairer. My car was in a drivable condition, but if it wasn’t, I would have been without a car for a few weeks (I was already without a car for a week while it got repaired because I didn’t opt in for hire car cover). But in saying that, that’s not really the insurance company’s fault, more the local repairer. I had to take the car in to them first so they could take their own pics, they had to send away a quote etc and then call me to organise an appointment to bring it in for the actual repair. So from the day I made the claim to picking up my fixed car was 5 weeks.

After an accident I reported the the event to police and exchanged details with the other car driver. I then made a claim to Everyday insurance. Buyer beware! Check the Woolworths Insurance promotion - SHOP60 before you proceed! I calculated my insurance several times both with and without the code. The code added $10 per month to my premium. At first, the process of getting the policy was quite positive, but as soon as I wanted to view/change the auto renew setting, it became ugly. What excuse in this day and age could there be to not display this on their portal. The reason is pretty obvious. Show details
Follow-up · There is an email address provided where you send a request to disable the auto-renew. But I never got an email back to confirm either day. So I called, and was still unable to get anything in writing. When the insurance period expires I will be moving to another insurer. They can have a fancy modern user web portal, but somehow cannot expose this one little setting. Not shady at all.

suggested, however sent me a finished email to do with my car repairs that hadn't started for another 3 weeks. Apparently claims go to a centre in the Phillipines. Every consultant I spoke with all apologised about the mistakes made however no supervisor or anyone higher called to speak to me about all the mistakes that were made. A very frustrating situation. I bought a new car before this claim and had insured it with them, however after such a terrible experience with the claim on my other car I have now cancelled my policy on both cars.
Follow-up · There were no problems with the car repair at all , the problems were all in the process of the claim, many mistakes were made and the problems were never escalated to a supervisor or some one higher. told that this still needs to be evaluated. My claim was approved, and I should not have to continue providing unnecessary documents. I am covered under comprehensive insurance, so even if I had experienced a medical episode, this should not affect my claim and put it on hold. I am currently overseas and have been calling almost daily, yet nothing is moving forward. I return in two weeks, and as an agency nurse, I need my car for work.

It was a very frustrating experience trying to add my children to the policy. The wait time on hold was unacceptably long. When I did finally get a human they were hard to understand and seemed incapable of deviating from the script and actually helping. Of course more money had to be paid and we got there eventually. This must be the worst decision I made choosing everyday car insurance. Note you are buying from Hollard south African company not an Australian company. Please avoid at all cost! been a week since I raised the claim and it is still at square one.. they initially call to acknowledge and then it is dead silence. No updates, emails or any representative. It has now been 2 weeks, not a single email response.
I have been calling in everyday day after day but keep speaking to a team that has not helped a single bit at all. Bunch of liars, 80% of the items they said they would do was verbal. Upon confirmation from the other side, nothing was done at all. I had to stay on hold like 20 mins everytime which each call adding up to an hours each day. This applies predominantly to South Africa team (whom so happen to have English names like James, John, etc). Just found out that there is a Philippines team available only after 5 are way better and polite.
Please avoid this company at all cause, trust me....you do not want to be in my situation...

Poorist service imaginable ...unimaginable number of calls to deal with simple claim. They do not properly persue the at fault drivers insurance. This claim is taking forever to resolve and even though my 29 year old daughter was not at fault my insurer wants me to pay the excess. This has been and is exhausting and extremely frustrating because of the lack decissive professional response. To Woolworths Insurance, I advise you to get a proper underwriter who treats clients respectfully and puts in the work for their clients in settling claims properly and efficiently. I may be old at 76 but I am not stupid. Just do your instead trying to charge your client the excess when the other party is clearly at fault and admitted it.
