The worst customer service ever!!!!
Due to unforeseen reasons I had to change my booking and paid a fee for it. In the last 2 weeks I am trying to receive a receipt or an email confirmation that I was charged to make changes to my booking, and have spent many hours on the phone and they still have not sent the receipt/email. There is always a girl on the phone that doesn't really know what she is doing. Not sure who has employed her but she is giving a bad reputation the company. She is slow, unprofessional, and unable to do her job. Sorry Expedia you can do better. I am very annoyed and still waiting to receive that email. How can I claim the charges from insurance if you do not confirm that I paid the change of booking fee????
easy to use but be aware!
I found the site very easy to negotiate and was happy enough with the prices to make my booking- also easy. But when looking for international visa needs, it is set for Americans only. Useless! I am transiting via the USA, do I need a visa? I guess I will have to contact the airline as Expedia doesn't have any information. (you can put in which passport you are traveling with but it still wants a US state?!)
Can't actually download the itinerary without downloading a EULA PDF Converter & Combiner that wants to take control of your search browser. No Thankyou!!!!

Expedia is below standard
My story is similar to many who review Expedia. On 28 November 2019 I tried twice to make a business class booking from Australia to New Zealand. On both occasions the Expedia site said it could not confirm the booking and to try again in a few moments. On both occasions the site clearly said not to worry because my credit card had not been charged. Well, of course it was charged - almost $6000. I spoke to Expedia who say no tickets were issued and it is a purchase authorisation only which will reverse in 72 hours. I spoke to my bank and they s...ay it takes up to two weeks. But, what if I only had a $6000 limit on my credit card? My credit facility would be totally immobilised for up to two weeks because of an Expedia blunder. Its not good enough. But, my concern is deeper. When the customer clicks on the purchase button they are giving Expedia consent to charge the credit card for the stated amount In return for the tickets that have been ordered. There is no consent for Expedia to place a holding charge when they have not issued any tickets. This behaviour is unconscionable. Surely it's a simple IT matter that when the Expedia system cannot issue a ticket it is prohibited from reaching into the customers credit card account and messing it up for two weeks? Anyway, after these two failed attempts I dumped Expedia and booked directly with Qantas. Easy. No problems. That's the way to do it. I should add this exact same thing happened to me when using Expedia earlier in the year. I had two failed attempts at booking a flight which resulted in credit card charges that lingered for two weeks. On that occasion I put it down to a one-off glitch but it is obviously a bigger issue that is receiving little or no attention from Expedia. In this current matter, I have spoken to Expedia three times, my bank twice and Qantas twice. So, lots of running around on my part. The best Expedia can do is send a fax to my bank and ask them nicely to reverse the charges. Pathetic. Today I spoke to my bank and they have received nothing from Expedia so I escalated the matter and asked my bank to raise a formal dispute. I have read most of the Expedia reviews here and on other review sites. If I was Expedia I would be very concerned. The common theme is a total dissatisfaction with the level of service. My particular complaint is raised often but there appears no interest at all from Expedia. To just say wait and it will all work out is not sufficient. Expedia needs an urgent review of their systems. They have lost me as a customer.
Don't EVER use EXPEDIA or LASTMINUTE AUNZ
Never use these companies just different names took 2 days being told they have no manager & trying to charge me extra for THEIR mistakes & asked how 2 spell Gold Coast
Always trust Expedia
I cancelled accommodation 4 weeks prior to stay and did not refund then received an email from Expedia to help with in 2 days the problem was solved with a full refund. I always book Expedia because I know I can trust them good company that are willing to help thanks expedia
Scammers in Expedia Bravo travel website
We were trying to book for Singapore through Expedia.com.au, we got the tickets to our budget so we clicked to book. It took us to a website called BRAVOFLY travel. When we gave our Visa card after processing, it said your booking will be confirmed but didnt give us a time frame. So, my husband called them, they said they will confirm in 72 hours. After few hours we got a call from France saying that we have to pay more money to get the tickets confirmed.
This is a new type of scam to lure people showing low price tickets in the website, then p...
Warning Do NOTTTTTTT book flight!!
A total of 6 transactions over $3k was taken out of my credit card account. I am not a stupid user but because the Expedia keep telling me they cant confirm my FLIGHT booking and ask to try in a minute. In my haste to book a last min flight I tried multiple times as it kept asking me to try again later. NO flight confirmation itinerary and NO payment screens or receipts went through at this stage but they took money out of my credit card account. Managed to get an email to confirm to cancel all 6 transactions but Bankwest platinum refuses to dr...op off the debited amounts as they keep saying to me Expedia has to cancel their end. But Expedia keeps telling me to wait for 5-7 days as its holding payment by authorisation. I spent more than 3hrs trying to sort this out, Expedia keeps cutting off my line as I tried to speak to several staff. It is not my fault money gets taken out, seriously this is a BREACH. so my advice to anyone out there, do not use them. I wouldnt even give them any star in my review but i had to click on a one star to push through this post. I am intending to contact the consumer protection of Australia and also ACCC during business hours.
Seriously do not use them
They claimed the airline cancelled one my flights, then the alternatives didn't work and they won't refund you for up to 12 weeks. Yet the airline I booked with state on their website they return cancelled flight fee's within 7 days. They don't call you back when they say they will. I then went and booked the exact same flights with another company no problem, so not sure why they lied about the flight being cancelled. Because of the above I reported them to NSW Fair Trading and they responded to them, with lies would you believe. They actually...lie to our consumer watchdog. I took the names of the customer service reps I spoke with down and they claimed it got escalated to an another name, then they lied about the flights again. They also took a fee off me for all of this. I've heard other stories about them too being a nightmare, get what you pay for I suppose. Strongly recommend avoiding if you don;t want a whole heap of pain.
Now I'm not the type of person who normally writes a review, but I would like to share my experience with Expedia as a word of warning to people who are looking at booking with them. They changed my flight, which then conflicted with another flight. When they asked if I could change the flight to the day before I said no as I had a booked tour which ended that day. They then asked me if I could change the tour, instead of them looking at other options. They didn't even offer the option of a refund, I had to ask if it was possible. When I called...them, I was put on hold for 20 minutes simply for the customer support representative to look at my itinerary. I'm not sure why it took so long but because I had to call the American help centre, it cost me a lot of money to be put on hold. Not only this, they sent me an email with options on what I could do other than my original flight, but when I called them, those options weren't available. When I asked what happened to my original flight the answer was simply "it is not available that day", meaning the website is providing false information to their customers. Not only this, the customer service rep who took my call seemed very unmotivated and rude, he didn't seem like he genuinely wanted to help me. If you're looking to travel with ease and not being provided with false information, do not book through Expedia! You're better off booking through the actual airlines website.
Search for accommodation and then you get bombarded with 5 emails a day saying special offers, members offers, never to be seen again offers, only for you offers, cheapest ever offers! Well let me tell you, its all CRAP! The price doesn't change, its just CLICK BAIT!!! I found its ALWAYS cheaper to book direct through the hotel, these third parties are shocking!! Get a life EXPEDIA, stop harassing people and emailing at least 5 times a day with rubbish that isnt even true! ive booked my noosa accommodation and got is $400 CHEAPER than your site by going DIRECT to the source! I feel sorry for people who book through these guys thinking they are getting a better deal, well your not! they make you BELIEVE You are but your not do your research!
NOT HAPPY EXPEDIA
We purchased a 9 night cruise of Japan in August. At the time of booking we were told we would receive a $50US per person on board credit. Upon checking in we were advised that Margaret received a $70 credit and Sandra received $25. At the end of the cruise we both received a $25 credit. When checking our statements we were told that the final amount of $25 per person had been changed 1 day prior to sailing by our agent (Expedia) not $50US as agreed by Expedia. We made numerous calls and emails both before and after the cruise. No reply ha...s been received from Expedia with an explanation as to why our credit was reduced. This is one of the many issues we have had with Expedia. We have been loyal customers of Expedia for at least 8 years and feel very disappointed in their lack of communication with us. We would be very reluctant to recommend them to anyone. We are not impressed. We were advised that a supervisor would return our call. This never happened. This is not the first issue we have had with them this year
Crappiest holiday ever !!!!!!!!!!!
i had a review written and it just deleted it ! bugger !!
The holiday was booked through Webjet which it then redirected to Holiday XP in Melbourne. 11 day China tour including Beijing, Wuxi, Suzhou, Hangzhou then Shanghai. The itinerary that was originally shown, the hotels being great but were not the hotels given to us in the itinerary received a week before the holiday which all bar one had bad reviews. Wuxi International Hotel was fantastic. The original itinerary also read that the Panda House at the Beijing zoo was included and part of th...
Very bad service.
My wife and I have stayed at the Mantra Hotel Chatswood NSW twice now and the last time was the worst. We booked for a four day stay in July. I booked a Studio Suite, which was supposed to be serviced. I booked through Wotif. The room we were given was an unserviced Studio Suite, and no amount of explaining my booking to the Service Desk staff would make them rectify their mistake. There was no refund given or even a discount on the price even though I had paid for a serviced Studio Suite. The Wotif booking went through Expedia, an...d even after contacting them, they would not rectify our booking. If there was a minus 'Star' rating for Bad Service, I would have chosen that... After months of supposedly sorting out my complaint, Wotif and Expedia have not resolved the issue and have gone silent. We will never stay at the Mantra Hotel Chatswood NSW again. November 24th 2019 Update: Expedia (Wotif) complaint... I have been dealing with Expedia (Wotif) Customer Support for the last four months regarding a complaint I submitted about the Mantra Hotel - Chatswood, N.S.W. What a bunch of absolute 'morons.' They WILL NOT read and investigate the facts of my complaint. I keep receiving a 'generic' e-mail from them saying the same thing each time. Each e-mail is sent from a different team member, and they have not read the earlier e-mails from me stating the facts of my complaint. This is becoming VERY frustrating and annoying. They (Expedia), WILL NOT investigate the facts of my complaint. It's not that hard Expedia...

Dont book trip with expedia
They have booked our trip to fiji from canberra to Melbourne flight and then Melbourne to fiji but they didnt check the time difference between the flights which was only 1 hour. When we checked the tickets and raised concerns Expedia rep told us they need to cancel our whole trio and money will be refunded after 8 weeks, they cant change the first flight time. We need to loose $500 without any reason. Rubbish Expedia please dont book your trip with them. They makes people fool. Its a scam showing people less rate on trip. Will never recommend anyone to plan trip with these guys.
Only interested in your money.
Once these guys have your money they have no interest in helping you. I booked a Hotel in Sydney through them which ended up having no hot water the whole time I was there. Requested a partial refund which they refused, even though the Australian Consumer Guarantee applies. Now refusing to respond to my emails at all. Refered to ACCC.
Better than Local Travel Agents
My partner and I booked a trip from Perth to a resort in Bali. After being told that the travel agent could not get to within $700 of the Expedia price for same flights and same room we were warned to be careful with on line agencies. We booked anyway and flights, hotel, room were perfect and the holiday was hassle free! Well done Expedia, we will be back.
Waiting 9 months for
I had bought a ticket in September 2018 for flying in January 2019 from Pune, India to Sydney ( Expedia itinerary no.: 7378561676555.)
After 10's of call and emails I am waiting for my $777.11 refund allocated from original $1100 fare.
Expedia is still harassing me and not paying. I copy a email

The worst experience
I had the most expensive trip ever. Expedia will rob you. They charge extra fees for international transactions, plus their website does not state if the price is in AUD or USD.

Questions & Answers
I recently made a booking for 2 nights accomodations at Arc la Rambla in Barcelona on the 22nd - 24th Aug. I hadn’t received a conformation email so I followed it up, it appears that my email address was wrong however this has since been rectified and I have received confirmation. But the problem is I was not given any points for this booking I would appreciate you looking into this as we will making many more bookings while in Europe. Regards Sally.
I booked some singapore airlines flights on the website last wednesday (March 6th), the authorisation for payment was taken immediately. On Monday (March 11th) Singapore airlines took the payment from my account in 2 parts, the per person amount, still equalling the correct amount. However the authorisation is still being held on my card, its now Wednesday March 13. This has resulted in my account being overdrawn and as such accumulation of bank fees. Can someone please tell me how to get the authorisation/hold off my card ASAP?! I've never had this issue with expedia before, I'm a gold member so have booked plenty in the past. I'm really stressed out and need this sorted now!! Help!!
Is this the same company that is owned by expedia group USA ? ( trivago, hotels.com etc). If it is the ACCC are looking into their bussiness practices in Australia for some kind extortion racket according to Dick Smith website.
Does Expedia receive a commission from the bookings even when they stuff them up?
Hi Dangles, I'm not sure if it is the same, but having said that, I was redirected to 'America', but spoke to an angry lady, whom may have been Indian. Despite free cancellation policy, I needed a 'reason' for the cancellation, that threw me... I am not aware of any fees charged, however, the booking was in fact for a friend so I will get them to check their cc... cheeky buggers... after the fiasco, I have decided to pay the hotel prices and book with them... the hotel staff also made a remark about them not advertising their contact details, as they are giving those details out daily... Thankyou for your information, I will check out Dick's website... I'm also alerting my travelling friends to my experience with expedia... have a great day:)
