Overall sentiment towards Express Garage Doors is divided, leaning positive for urgent repairs and new installations. Many consumers report fast, professional, and efficient service from knowledgeable technicians. However, a notable minority of reviewers caution against unexpected pricing discrepancies, communication hurdles with support staff, and challenges with after-sales issue resolution.
Nico at Express Garage Doors was friendly and nothing was too difficult for him. He fixed the problem with great energy, efficiency and professionalism. Highly recommend the team at Express Garage Door.
- Prompt response to leaving contact details. - Was able to provide assessment and quote next day - Serviceman (Mike) arrived at appointment time and very quickly assessed problem and suggested solution. - l accepted quote and job was completed within 30 minutes. - Very happy with the outcome.
There was nothing wrong with my garage door. It was however, overdue for a service. The chain needed tightening and obviously lubrication. The ‘technician’ repeatedly insisted my motor was old…. While he keyed it up and down quickly, without allowing it to reach top or bottom. I had to chase him out to his vehicle to reclaim my remote door key… Read more
when he left. Once he was gone, the door wouldn’t go either up or down. It has been three weeks since I contacted both the technician and the phone number provided on the website. Apparently no one is accountable or contactable. $275 for less than nothing.

Great experience from the first call to the repair. Had Al the technician over to replace a new motor opener to our old garage door. Service was great and Al was very helpful. Explained the process and our options, also the price was reasonable. Would highly recommend!
Prompt service, well executed. I was given three options for the replace of my garage door opener. Job was completed within one hour. Highly recommend!
Garage door busted up at 1pm on a Sunday, couldn't fix it as wire snapped and door was jammed. Call up and by 5pm door was fixed. Amazingly fast and great value. Definitely saving there number.
Installer was prompt and explained the options available. He did advise the old remotes would work with the new motor but then after installing the motor couldn’t pair the old remotes and the new motor. This means we need two remotes, gate and garage door, not the best result. Also put unused metal brackets in the recycling bin and forgot to take… Read more
away the old rail and motor. Overall I believe we paid a premium price, for convenience but did not receive a premium result.
Appointment was for 11am, however the tech arrived at 1:15pm…besides that, he got the door going fairly quick. The dent in the door is still fairly profound after works completed.
Roy is a very professional. He and his brother work well to replaced a pair of cables quickly. They are reliable and capable technicians. I am highly recommended to let Roy and his workmate to fix the problem of your garage door. Show reply
Polite well mannered and very helpful I would recommend them to other people
Thanks. Sam did an awesome job. Very professional and helpful. Will recommend.
Charged over $2000 for a max $1000 job replacing 2 springs and servicing. Springs were charged at $550 per but materials are nowhere near that price. Lubricated with WD40, which is a degreaser NOT a lubricant and not recommended by most garage door repair professionals. Technician had to come back 5 mins later as door wouldn't go all the way down.… Read more
Never quoted anything or told us terms & conditions until presented with invoice. Charged us ridiculous fee for weekend attendance plus service & installation. Massively overpriced and take advantage of people who are desperate and don't know better. My dad contacted them about their conduct, they refused any responsibility, have now reported them for their dodgy practices. Stay away.

‘Tom the chosen’ Had a great experience with Express Garage Doors. Tom worked quickly and efficiently, despite the heat, changing the motor, springs, wires and giving it a full service. He was upfront about pricing. Happy to have a functioning door again
Lucus and Oliver were very friendly and professional. Git the job done fast and efficiently. Thank you
Had Oliver and Lucas came to fix my garage door. Prompt fast service and reliable.
After paying $850 for the first visit the door was broken again after 3 days. The same service man came and wanted to replace the motor instead of fixing the bent rails that were jamming the wheels. That was the second visit. I requested another serviceman who was great until he spoke to the previous guy and he wanted to charge even more to fix… Read more
the mistakes of the first service man. That was the third visit in less than two weeks. The photo shows what my roller door looked like after three visits. I called Grove Roller Doors and the were there the next morning, fixed all of the mistakes made by Express Garage Doors and it only cost $220. A vastly different response and prices. I'll never be recommending Express Garage Doors to anyone.
Great work they did it perfectly, good manner guys and very smart. It was orisela and his teammate I’d give them 10/10

Very disappointing experience. They initially quoted $450, but upon arrival increased the price to $750, claiming they were using a “higher quality” torsion spring. There was no clear justification for this change, and I felt pressured to proceed. … Read more
It has now been 9 months since installation, and my motor is already dead. The torsion spring brand was never clearly disclosed, so I have no way of verifying whether a proper or high-quality product was actually installed.
I also never received a receipt or detailed documentation for the work, which makes the whole situation even more concerning.
On top of that, they asked for access to my Google account during the job and pushed me to leave a 5-star review on the spot. This felt like emotional pressure and was highly unprofessional.
At this point, I cannot tell whether the issue is due to poor installation, incorrect spring tension, or low-quality parts. I will be getting another company to inspect the system and confirm.
I will update this review again if the problem is confirmed.
Overall, very poor transparency, questionable workmanship, and unprofessional conduct. I would not recommend.
Follow-up · Follow-up Review I’m following up on my previous review because I have now taken this matter to VCAT. An independent inspection found that the wrong torsion spring was installed on my garage door. The spring installed was two sizes smaller than what was required for my door, which resulted in the door not being properly balanced and dropping… Read more
They did respond promptly and came out the following day to repair and replace springs for my garage doors, however thought it was over priced and the doors did not seem to operate smoothly when closing and opening. However, cables came off the… Read more
roller couple weeks ago on one of the doors and rang them 3 times and even sent images to the installer and basically refuse to come out to rectify or even call back. They're after sale assistance is not acceptable and would not recommend them. Not sure they would cover their works under the warranty period.
Follow-up · No response had to get someone else in and cost just as much to fix the item again as the new springs were under a lot of tension Would not recommend them.
Was the worst experience in having garage springs adjusted for sectional doors. Not only did the technician not know what he was doing but also charged me an extra $100 for his incompetence. I wouldn't touch this company with a barge pole. I sent 3… Read more
emails over a 2 week period requesting a resolution to the fact the technician did not fix my garage door and they have not responded to those emails to date. The technician said there were other issues in play so I got another company to call out and they fixed it straight away at less cost and those so called other issues were incorrect!
Follow-up · Hi, no I didn't get a refund, and they didn't respond to 3 emails I sent, and when I called them, I was told the manager would call me back the next day, which never happened. The new issue was that the door would only lift halfway up after the tech visited and played with the door. The new service by AGG doors and gates was cheaper, and they got the door to fully open again.

Great service. From the communication before the job and then successfully fixing our door. Challenging job as I’d tried a little DIY and only made it worse. Very happy.
The only business I contacted on a Saturday morning advising an emergency repair service that actually responded to my call and helped me. I rang seven others before this repairer. The first one ghosted me and the rest of them didn’t even pick up the phone despite advertising 24 seven emergency repairs. Very grateful for their responsiveness and fair and reasonable price to fix my garage door.
Negative reviews
Very poor experience. The technician was rude and unqualified. My door worked fine but was beeping. His only solution was to replace the box (for $770) because he said he's "not an electrician" do he didn't know what could be wrong with it. I told him I'd adjusted the travel limits to see if that was the problem. Good response was "so you ruined… Read more
the travel limits" then asked me to go back and fix them while he tested a new box. He wouldn't wait until we could replicate the issue to see if it was a problem with the box and said I had to just make a decision to either replace it or not. I didn't want to spend 770 on a new box when we couldn't confirm if that was the problem. I was then charged $66 for the callout fee because I didn't go ahead with the changeover - so be aware of that if you see their ad that claims they have "no callout fee".
Courteousy review to other consumers; I As a direct result of this experience, my sister has had to arrange for another garage door company to attend today to rectify the problem, costing her even more money. cost-of-living climate, unexpected repair costs place a significant financial burden on everyday families, making this situation even more disappointing. am writing this review as the sister of the customer who received this service, and I am extremely disappointed by the way she has been treated. She booked a garage door service for 5:00 pm, but the technician did not arrive until around 9:00 pm. After keeping her waiting for four hours, he spent only approximately 15 minutes at the property before rushing off. She was quoted $200 for the service and paid the invoice in full. Only after payment was she told that GST had not been included and that she needed to pay more. Changing the agreed price after payment is highly unprofessional and unacceptable. My sister was also told that the work came with a 12-month warranty. She relied on that information. Just 106 days later, the garage door has failed due to what appears to be poor workmanship. When she contacted the company, she was suddenly told the warranty was only 90 days and that they would not assist. The combination of arriving hours late, carrying out what appeared to be a rushed 15-minute service, changing the agreed price after payment, and then refusing to stand behind the work is simply unacceptable. As someone who has seen the frustration and inconvenience this has caused my sister, I cannot recommend this company. Based on her experience, I will be sharing this review across other review platforms so that other consumers are aware of these concerns and can make an informed decision before engaging this business. I would not recommend this company. I booked a garage door service for 5:00 pm, yet the technician didn't arrive until around 9:00 pm. the invoice in full, I was then told that GST had not been included and was expected to pay an additional amount on the spot. Quoting one price and then increasing it after payment is extremely unprofessional and left a very poor impression.
At the time of the service, I was clearly told that the work was covered by a 12-month warranty. I relied on that information. Now, only 106 days later, my garage door has failed due to what appears to be poor workmanship. When I contacted the company, I was told the warranty was only 90 days and that they would not assist.
Being told one thing at the time of service and something completely different when a problem arises is unacceptable. If the warranty was only 90 days, that should have been made clear from the beginning. Instead, I was left with a faulty garage door, no support, and an expensive problem to fix.
Overall, this was an incredibly disappointing experience. Late arrival, a rushed 15-minute service, changing the agreed price after payment, conflicting information about the warranty, and poor after-sales service demonstrate a lack of professionalism and customer care.
Over the coming days, I intend to share this review across other review platforms so that other consumers are aware of my experience and can make an informed decision before choosing this company.

Called for service and minor repairs. Arrived next day at booked time. They explained process and repairs. Only downside was the cleanup afterwards. Was finding metal strands from the cut cables all over the garage floor.
Booked a time & day for someone to come out but they didn't even show up! No phone call, no text, nothing! Then a few days later the company rings to see if I want to go ahead with the quote! ffs! They rebooked me in for another day & then they cancelled! 3rd time lucky, someone finally came out & quoted me a ridiculous quote of $290 to service a… Read more
