Great pet insurance company, easy to communicate with and a very convenient app. One star missing just as currently they are not able to do direct payments to vets outside of business hours and our vet can’t directly begin a claim through them so it’s very hands on. Show details
Fetch pet insurance were there for us when our dog suddenly fell ill and required emergency hospitalisation. They processed our requested pre-approval for treatment promptly (within hours) and arranged to pay the hospital directly. I have only been a member for just over a year. My puppy has already had over $6000 worth of claims paid by fetch and believe me I haven’t paid them anywhere near that in premiums - very amazing !!! So easy to deal with and responsive to message. I can’t sing their praises enough. Previously with another dog I had used someone else and had nothing but major problems trying to claim. We’ve been with Fetch for little over 6 months, and we’ve had to make a significant claim for our little pup and Fetch have been nothing short of amazing. more helpful. Every time I’ve had to put in a claim has been incredibly easy. The app is simple to use, easy to navigate and makes putting in a claim stress free! Whenever I had questions, or needed extra support the team were there with pawsitive attitudes. All claims were processed in a quick and efficient manner and money was back in my account in a matter of days. thankfully dealt with but left him with a cherry eye and made his eye droopy. Again, we got expert treatment involving a procedure on both eyes. Excellent outcome. Fetch paid 90% for all these bills. Then the trouble started. We insured our new second Saint Bernard puppy on the same plan. After about 6 months we had ear issues with both of them and they simply would not cover anything for either of them. Then we tried to get her eyes sorted out with the same issue as our boy - no chance - they would they cover her procedure. Everything from then on was "a pre-existing condition" and therefore not covered.
We realised we were wasting our time making claims apparently - they obviously needed to recoup their money from their first payouts.
They're cheap for a reason.... Avoid.
You can't get a download pdf about anything with them and they don't have a policy number for your insured pets - it's all "in-app" and a pain.
Follow-up · Follow up is simple - Alice needs another surgery because the first eye operation failed completely. So that's nearly $8,000 for no result. Now we need to spend another large sum to try and fix her eyes. over a year. So far, the premiums feel reasonable for the level of coverage provided.
My first claim was for an accident. It was eventually covered, but the process took about a month due to pre-existing condition checks, and I suspect it would have taken longer if I hadn’t followed up.
The second claim was processed a little faster, around three weeks, but still involved some back-and-forth between Fetch and my vet. Again, I found that actively following up and relaying information helped move things along.
The good news is that all claims have been approved in the end, so the coverage has worked as promised — it just requires some patience. On the plus side, Fetch’s customer service team has been consistently friendly and helpful, and lodging claims through the app is straightforward.
Follow-up · I have recent claim that is still pending (it's been more than 2 weeks), so I don't think they have improve much in terms of speed. The claim is marked as waiting for vet and from what I can tell, Fetch ask a lot of follow up questions hence the slowness. In the previous claim I had to follow up to both Fetch and the vet, I also requested the email they sent to the vet so I can ask the vet to respond.

an email from Fetch after lodging the claim asking if my dog had EVER had diarrhoea in his first 6 months of life? I replied yes as we walk every day and he is a puppy who chews sticks and eating things in the park he shouldn't from time to time.
They used this to not pay my claim citing this must have been a pre existing condition?????
I responded with this being no different than refusing a claim of a 9 year old dog with pneumonia because it sneezed once when it was 4 months old?
If you are reading this thinking there must be more to the story I can assure you there is not. Again read independent reviews carefully as there is a pattern emerging.
This will be the first of many posts trying my best to warn honest pet owners to stay away.

Have been with Fetch for both our dogs for almost two years now since we moved to Aus. Have now made a claim for each of them, one for an injury and one for an allergic reaction, and both have been accepted and paid out with no issues and very promptly.
