My experience with real pet insurance has been a supportive one. They are understanding and their customer service team are outstanding. Real pet failure to get with the times – Failure to be competitive within the pet insurance market. I have been with Real pet since 2011, every year the premiums go up yet scheduled benefits etc have remained the same since I first signed up! so we need to put up your premium" Understood, however how about increasing the amount in the scheduled benefits? The routine care amount? None of these reflect the increases Real pet speak of. Nothing had changed since I signed up all those years ago!!! No multiple pet discounts that other insurance companies provided, a higher claim limit, some provide up to $20,000 a year and Real pet still only provide $12,000. Routine check still on get reimbursed at $50, yet vaccinations alone have more than doubled in price. This is so frustrating, I have been on the phone multiple times to ask why can't Real pet be more competitive and look after both old loyal customers as well as the new...always the same story, maybe one day!! It's not good enough, surely you have a marketing department that looks at what is out there, and realises the need for change and an overhaul of the current practice! Look after your customers, it's not rocket science.Please stop hiding behind the "oh we will see in the future " I alone have been at Real pet for changes for many years. The pet insurance market is competitive,so you guys need to follow suit.

Sevice I'Ve Received At a Horrendous Time – My Policy for my pet Koko was indeed very good value. It was very easy to set up as I had all the help I needed from the service people who helped me. I have been with REAL for about 3 years now. in critical care with heart disease and pulmonary problems. I thought that his little life was over and I'm sure it would have been had I not had him insured. REAL came to my aid by accepting all the claims from the hospital without any issue and I was able to get Koko the help he desperately needed. Once I had set up the Policy with REAL I have never had any issue with claims, all have been approved and paid promptly. whenever I've made a call to them I've found the operators extremely polite and helpful and very efficient, they even ask how Koko is doing by name. If I were to have another pet in the future I would not consider any other company other than REAL to insure my pet and I would insure him from the very first day I brought hm home. REAL has made a horrendous experience for me and my family into something less stressful not having to worry how to pay for Koko's care and being able to bring him home healthier. 100% recommend them – On the advice of our then Vet we made the unfortunate decision to insure our second dog with Petplan (Petcover). What a massive mistake. simple & quick, importantly not just for us but also the veterinary clinic. During the pandemic I was diagnosed with cancer. My husband had to stop work as I was immunocompromised. Real Insurance went out of their way to look after us. They lifted the financial pressure for a substantial period. This was huge as my diagnosis came from nowhere and treatment & surgery was almost immediate, giving us no time to organise ourselves. Aside from that period they are just a good company we can rely on. Everything is easy.

On the other hand the Petcover group take weeks/months to settle, both ourselves and the Vet have a lot of paperwork (the Vets cringe when you mention the name), there are loopholes that surface that you missed in the very FINE print & reading between the lines is an absolute necessity. Currently we are preparing for a legal fight with them due to the misrepresentation of the policy taken out 9 years ago. And the Vet who recommended them, yes he got a commission. Finally, worth mentioning our oldest boy (13) with Real pet, we pay $267.87 pm . Our other boy (9), same bread, same issues, we pay $267.38pm

disease the specialist had ever seen and he would not be making it back home with me. It was the hardest day of my life having to put him to sleep, and that wasn't helped by the realisation that over that six week period, I'd managed to accumulate $4,000 worth of vet bills.

I was certain I wasn't going to get any of that money back. Having been with Real for such a short amount of time, I knew I hadn't paid them anywhere near that amount, and there are so many insurance agency horror stories that I held very little hope when my vet submitted the claim on my behalf.

But within two weeks Real had sent me a cheque for 80% of the covered bills, and closed Scout's policy without my having to call and hound them.

Skip forward to now, and my eight-year-old cat Jem has been diagnosed with diabetes. I'm thanking my lucky stars that every time I considered closing his account, I didn't, because knowing that I could walk into my local vet clinic and say, "Do whatever you need to do" and not have to worry about the cost is such a blessing. Similarly, I don't have to worry about the cost of his medication going forward!

I'm extremely impressed by how much quicker and easier the Portal makes filing a claim, and even more impressed by how quickly the money was put back into my account.

So if you're thinking about taking out a policy, please do - you won't regret it when it inevitably comes time for your fur-baby to need it.

Really good pet insurance – We’ve been with real pet insurance for 11 years. Claims have always been really easy and no issues, receiving payment within a few days. Unfortunately our dogs premium has uncreased so much this year $200pm (more than our own health insurance) we’ll be left no choice but to cancel it as they aren’t willing to negotiate a better price even though we have been loyal customers for 11 years. The worst experience – Have had 2 dogs insured over 20 year period. Every interaction/ claim was a problem right up until the very end. They constantly got the policies mixed up despite having the correct policy details resulting in unsuccessful claims. It always took multiple calls to resolve. I will not be insuring my next pet with real , nor would I recommend them to anyone. Show details

This Is An Absolutely Ridiculous Situation – I received a message this morning that I had overspent my allowance on my now deceased dog and that her cremation expenses were denied. The good news was that when I renewed the insurance for this deceased dog I would be able to claim again. Easy to claim direct from my vet – I like the idea of claiming direct from vet easy. Policy value is pretty good with comfort of being covered for any large costs etc. Claims are settled in about 3 weeks and I have been with Real since 2016.  Show details

So happy we have real pet insurance !!!! – We have had pet insurance for many years with our two rescue greyhounds and now our two Jack Russell x 's. Our Jack Russell has had a few operations over the last two years and we would have really struggled to find the money. Exceeded expectations – We recently have had to go through surgery and treatment for stomatitis for our dog sugar. It was very expensive and the ongoing medication is also very costly but we have been relieved with how our real pet insurance has covered majority of our out of pocket expenses. I love this for my fur babies – I have been with real pet insurance for now for around 16 yrs ( for two cavaliers). I can’t say how impressed I am with the service. They are so good and helpful.
