An honest insurance company
Never had to deal with any insurance company in any capacity before, but by all accounts I have heard it is a horrible experience. This was not the case for us.Our dog needed major surgeries in order to save her life. All up, the bills came up to close to $30,000. We didn't hear from PIA throughout this ordeal whatsoever. No phone calls, no emails, nothing. The bills came in and PIA simply paid them - no questions asked. In fact, the only time we heard from PIA was an email a few months after everything happened to see how our dog was and ask… Read more · 1
ing what we thought of their service. If PIA ever decides to branch out into anything other than pet insurance, please let me know. Consider me your first customer. Our dog is now completely healthy as the surgery was curative. She's now back to being a happy and healthy dog. Can't rate this company highly enough. Thank you PIA, for everything.Amazing customer service, easy, speedy claim process!
We have been with Pet Insurance Australia for 9 years now and have had many claims. Each one has been stress free and so quick and easy to claim. The customer service is amazing, always very friendly and informative. The recent addition of gap only payments by my vet has made an seamless experience even easier! We love Pet Insurance Australia, they have made some very very stressful times with our beautiful labrador so much easier to deal with taking the financial burden away and making claims so easy. Love this insurance company. So easy to make a claim, just need to lodge vet consultation notes and invoice. Now it can be submitted by the vet when you pay so you don’t have to do anything. Always get notifications of my claims as they are progressing. Get clear and concise information about the claim once it is finalised. Have 80% cover and they are very accurate in giving the 80% back when you have had an animal problem. Would not hesitate to recommend them. Show details · 1Disappointing
Despite being insured with them from six weeks to nine years and only having one major claim I was totally disillusioned with them. Charged two excess fees despite being one anesthetic on same day no cover for teeth cleaning despite annual fee in excess of three thousand dollars. Wish I had just put the money away in a bank amount. Would never take out insurance again total rip off. Show detailsAmazing and speedy turnaround!
Was an amazing and seamless experience. I submitted the claim, there was a request for more info but as soon as that was sent through I had the claim finalised within the week. What an amazing turn around. Definitely a more positive experience than any other insurance company I have dealt with before. My poor Dane/mastiff had a hairline fracture on her lower spine after an over enthusiastic jump. For a 60kg dog this had a devastating affect. 6 weeks on and my almost 9 year old baby is acting like an excitable puppy again. Thanks PIA for easing the burden of the vet bills! I am super grateful I had pet insurance with PIA! Show details · 1

paperwork for assessment immediately. Not only did Pet Insurance Australia cover 80% of the veterinary expenses associated with the grass seed incident (minus premium), but they also processed my claim efficiently and within a week, sparing me any unnecessary stress during a worrying time. Their dedication to providing comprehensive coverage and exceptional customer service truly sets them apart. Thanks to Pet Insurance Australia, I could focus on supporting my pet's recovery without worrying about the financial burden. I had been with Pet Insurance Australia for a year prior to this incident, and this was the first time needing to use their service. Highly recommend PIA - wonderful service
We highly recommend PIA. Our recent claims were handled extremely efficiently and in one instance when our vet forgot to lodge the claim as soon as it was then submitted it was approved the same day and the funds were in our account the next day. Fantastic service! We also love the clear and punctual communication that we receive from PIA when a claim is lodged and the follow up care and communication is lovely. It is so nice to deal with an insurance company that provides such an exceptional level of customer service. Well done PIA! Show details · 1My Dog Cobber
My Dog Cobber got blocked up (constipated) recently (9months old) and was recommended by the great online vet service provided by PIA to take him to the Vet for a checkup. We did and it all got taken care of from the Vet Service as well as the claim was dealt with quickly and all went well so thank you PIA for assisting in the claim and I have already recommended your services to others at the Dog Park. Also, the online claim service is very simple to do, let alone the assistance from the PIA Staff if you need further assistance. PIA - You are amazing!
I have been with PIA for about 5 years now and they have been incredible to deal with, especially this weekend when I had a major scare when my beloved fur baby ingested a foreign body and required surgery. When I went to pick him up and pay the rest of the bill, the insurance was all sorted and claim was already fulfilled! Thank you for taking the financial stress out of an emotional roller coaster ride. I am grateful to be insured by PIA! Show details · 1This insurance is a must if you have a pet
Our cat Luna started making snoring sounds while awake. After taking her to the vet and doing a nasal endoscopy she was diagnosed with Nasal Lymphoma. So we took her to Sash North Ryde for radiation therapy where she successfully complete the 2 week treatments. This would not have been possible without Pet Insurance Australia. There were no issues with processing and all claims were done by the vets instantly at checkout with GapOnly. I highly recommend Pet Insurance Australia for ALL pets. Thank you for making such a stressful time a lot less stressful for us. Show details · 1Questions & Answers
I am looking to switch pet insurance. My 6 year old dog is pretty good. When he was a puppy he swallowed something (a bone or something) which caused intestinal intersusseption . He had a surgery and his guts were fixed. No issues for over 5 years. Would that be regarded a pre-existing condition? Many thanks.

classified as a Pre-existing Condition. Any Vet Expenses related to a Pre-existing Condition, unfortunately, cannot be claimed under the policy and are not eligible for Cover. Under the Terms and Conditions of the policy, a Bilateral Condition means any Condition affecting body parts of which the Pet has at least two, one each side of the body (e.g. ears, eyes, knees and elbows). When applying an exclusion, a Bilateral Condition will be considered a single Condition. This means the Condition being claimed is classified as a Pre-existing Condition and any ongoing Vet Expenses to treat this Condition unfortunately cannot be claimed under the policy. My dog has previously had ingestion of foreign object and skin lesions, does this means that I have to wait 18 months to claim for these?
Hi Vevene, I would love to pop you in touch with a PIA Policy Expert over the phone. I'll private message you now for some additional information. Thanks, have a great day.

Hi Jacqueline, I'm sorry to hear of your upset, and I'd like to have a claims supervisor reach out ASAP regarding the excess charged. Can I please have your policy number so I can action this for you?... Read more
Unfortunately, dental is a general exclusion in our policies as outlined in our Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) and certificate of insurance. However our Major Medical does have an annual benefit towards non-insurance benefits such as teeth cleaning. I'd like my team to check on this for you. Thanks, have a wonderful day.
