We’ve moved into a new home and the fans in the existing fuel freestanding cooker are not working, could you please advise what we can do to make them spin? Is there a trick?

I want to replace timer on 5 burner duel range how is it done?

Anyone else have trouble turning their oven on? Ours is 3 years old and the oven will not turn on. Every so if often it will work, but mostly it does not. Had a technician come and look at it and said there is nothing wrong yet there clearly is! They are now trying to charge us a call out fee and for any parts and labour. Am very angry given the cost of the oven!

Oven is very hot, burns everything. It was installed 1 week ago. Just burnt another cake after lowering the temp by 20 degrees and halving the cooking time. Burnt biscuits after cooking for 6 minutes. Please help

Gove Fisher & Paykel in Queensland a call. Their customer service is very helpful and I’ve used it twice. Same stove wouldn’t light on one burner and despite being well out of warranty they arranged free repair.

New fan forced oven element has no earth lug to replace earth wire ,is this earth not required in new element as it is earthed through the screws connecting it to the oven internal frame

Hello, does the oven push hot air into the kitchen and where does the oven vent out to the front or the back of the oven? Regards Fiona

Is the 900mm cooker supposed to "exhaust very hot air" from the vent in between the oven door and control panel, basically becoming a heater . I have loaded a youtube video that demonstrates the oven is more of a heater than an oven. I basically exhausts hot air 35-45deg c into the kitchen along with all of the cooking smells which last for days after penetrating carpets, furniture and window furnishings. I have a letter from F&P that advise me this is normal - ridiculous.

We have the same issue and now keep the exhaust fan on while cooking and until the oven fan stops. This feature is extremely annoying although it could help heat the kitchen next winter! Both the F&P 900mm free standing oven and exhaust fan were included in a new build as bonuses from Porter Davis Homes in Victoria. It took 5 months to get the oven repaired and working after the clock stopped as no functions will work without the clock timer. F&P refused a replacement even though it was less than 6 months old. We would not choose either the extremely loud exhaust fan nor the oven if given a choice and may replace both some date in the future. (Also the twin door F&P included dishwasher)

Thanks - yes. These ovens seem to cook well, however i dont understand why they vent all of the heat into the kitchen. It is idiotic! I have explained to Fisher and Paykel and Arden that if the oven isnt replaced i will commence action at VCAT. Insifar as the dishwasher.... if you have dinner plates at the front, the detergent door wont open - so you cannot use the front space for those plates - another idiotic design. In summary, Fisher and Paykel make a good washing machine and are ruining there brand by making these. I WONT buy another Fisher and Paykel product again!

Do not buy this oven . First oven we had both fans went and cooktop stopped working . Only two months old . I’ll give fisher and Paykel their dues they did replace it however not two weeks old and one fan has stopped working again and is now burning food . Not a happy chappy. Ridiculous for the amount of money this oven costs . Will be onto them again tomorrow..

I am having an issue which no-one else seems to have. It only has one small heat/steam vent on top to vent the oven. When i cook a roast, it lets out an extraordinary amount of steam and heat, and has damaged my splashback. No other oven has only one small vent - is anyone else experiencing this?

yep, have the same issue with mine. it is the oven. and the first time i used the oven and it spouted out all this steam i nearly had a hissy fit! never had an oven which does this, although it doesn't effect the cooking. my oven works well. but i agree i don't like all that steam coming out. good luck, carol

Mine does this also, it also exhausts so much hot air from the gap beteen the door and control panel i cannot use it now it is warmer as the oven acts more like a heater than an oven - paint it yellow and call it a lemon!

Oven is extremely hot, have to turn it down low... to 100degrees sometimes. I cooked and burnt my christmas cake in one hour instead of three. Also the cooking guide is not very comprehensive. Does not list all foods I wish to cook( position , temp, fan forced, low and/or top element). Can you assist me.

yep, great oven (not). i have burnt stuff too, it is like it gets to the temperature, but just keeps heating up. you will need to get a service guy to give you a new thermostat, and i think there are two thermostats. i cook on 170 or less otherwise everything burns, and i have already had a new thermostat. i am frankly so disappointed with the oven, but i think everything is crap these days! good luck. carol

yeh i have. i bought my oven from harvey norman and for the first few months it was fine, now it is a lemon, and an absolute lemon. the oven still is not 12 months old! the oven thermostat (s)? do not work and trying to deal f&p customer service in NZ is a disgrace. it took four months to get a new thermostat, which still does not work, the oven is way too hot, i have to change the settings to at least 20 degrees lower when i use it. and for the retail price of this oven, it is way too expensive to throw out. i had an ariston before that and they are just as bad with customer service, there simply is none. f&p are as bad, even worse, i had to get harvey norman to intervene and get something happening. $3840 retail price and no customer service, and a lousy thermostat is terrible. my question, why do they build such lousy equipment! and i mean you pay for it!

My oven does not heat up anymore. I suspect the heating element or a fuse has blown. Any other thoughts??

carolfreedman
carolfreedman

well it is probably the thermostat, and i wish you luck dealing with f&p, my thermostat went and it took about 4 months to get a new one, and even now the oven is so hot it is not funny, at the f&p setting for 180 i lower to 160 otherwise it burns everything. i am very disappointed in the f&p customer service, they are in NZ and take over 1/2 an hour to answer the call, then they can't hear you and they just hang up! you may have to go back to the place you bought your oven to get them to deal directly with f&p, and frankly i would never buy any f&p products again. good luck, contact me again if you have no joy.

Oven stopped working will cooking a roast. (i did have it at full power for pork crackling). I left it for half an hour and now it is working again? Hope this doesn't happen again. Any suggestions?

I'm not sure, contact Fisher & paykel anyway and repot the issue so that if something does happen further down the track you have a record. Depending on the function you had it on it could have timed itself as a cleaner for the catalytic plates as they cook at 250.
