No good! Within a couple of years, the LED lights started to fail. Contacted F&P and after some debate, all they offered was free parts only. After 9 years, water is pouring out of it. Unreliable. Poor service. Pity the brand has declined from what it use to be years ago. Show details

Disappointing Washing Machine - lasted 5 yrs – we are a family of 3 , machine used 3 times a week started off well for a couple of years, quiet and did the job after 3 years started getting noiser after 5 years , lights missing of display and not switching between wash and spin cycles.. you have to stop and restart spin and rinse cycle manually would expect better than 5 years from a mid range machine too expensive to repair, won't buy F and P again. Show details

Very poor quality filter! – Twice I have tried to clean the filter pump on this machine and each time I have gone to reinsert it after cleaning, the plastic has snapped, resulting in water leaking everywhere when I try to wash again. Fisher and paykel do not stock the filter seperate you and instead you have to buy the whole pump and have it installed buy a professional.… Read more

Twice now this had happened. Won’t be purchasing from this brand again if their plastic is so cheap it breaks so easy.

12years on and still as good as the day I bought it... LUV U F&P WH7560J1 – Had 12+ years...Absolutely do not want it to die. So easy to use and maintain. Motherboard was replaced when it was a week old, havent had a single bit of trouble since (nothing that can't be fixed by cleaning out the drain filter). Washes everything, very well and very gently. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one secondhand. Show details

WORST MACHINE EVER!! – I will never buy this brand again. Bad products and extremely bad customer service. Extremely unsatisfactory!! Washing machine had a Faulty drum from the beginning. This machine was NOT quiet but rather like a jet taking off every time it was used. Technician was booked after paying a ridiculous $120 fee for 5minutes of service and email to F&P.… Read more

Fisher & Pykel service centre is impossible to talk too and don’t offer extended warranty on any of their products, so after 2 years you can expect it to break down with no accountability from Fisher & Pykel. I honestly thought this brand would last more the 3years - APPALLING!! After 3 emails & 6 phone calls (45-60 minutes a call in waiting time) and 4 weeks later, I’m still without a family washing machine even though I agreed to a replacement machine for a fee of $345. They can’t even facilitate a transaction to close this case. I’m not expecting much as I have not received a call back thoughout this time & honestly don’t see this being resolved as it’s impossible to speak to a customer representative.

Quiet to run – the machine is very quiet to run, I often forget that it's on until it plays it's little chime at the end of is wash cycle. it is a 7.5kg machine but does struggle with heavier loads requiring you to manually shift things around inside if it can't self balance before starting its spin cycle. The times it displays for it's wash cycles can be… Read more

considered a best guess at the minimum time it will take. if the load is uneven it will do a few slow rotations in each direction to try and re-balance the load, this adds to the wash time so if you need to consider this when putting a wash load on.

it does get clothes clean enough and removes most of the dog hair that we accumulate on clothes being pet owners.

I tend to use the quick load function for most things but the delicates cycle is gentle enough to wash most of my hand wash only garments. I do like that it has a Drum Clean setting that i can run it on once a fortnight to clean it, very handly.

The variety of cycles it offers is good and it has been fairly economical with water to run. I love that you can pause the wash to throw something else in or rescue something that you didn't mean to put in.

Excellent washing machine – This is my first front loader and I will never go back to a top loader. I have had this machine around 6 months now and I love it. It is very quiet, even when spinning, except i have noticed if I do a full load of towels the top spin speed is a little high, it is a bit noisier but has only come unbalanced once. Everything is always really clean (I… Read more

use OMO ultimate powder), no soap marks. Standard wash takes about an hour but can take longer if the load needs a lot of re balancing (which the machine does by itself). I allow about an hour and a half if I want to hang it out before I leave.

I love the delay function, it's great, although keep in mind that the time you set to delay is when it will start not finish. So if you set to delay by three hours it will start in three hours' time not finish. I love the prewash function. I love the fact that it has hot and cold tap connectors which saves on power. It also has a great feature where it tells you when you need to clean the machine and all you have to do is run the clean cycle with detergent, you don't have to manually clean, except to check the filter as suggested in the manual.

It has a key lock function which is great if you have kids as it means they can't fiddle with the buttons though I also turn the power point off when not in use.

I purchased from the good guys and they weren't very flexible on price but it was on sale already and the delivery people were great, very professional and efficient, took all the rubbish away, the machine was ready to go when they left.

Capacity is great, I can fit a full set of queen size bed linen, for example, and it can even handle a single bed quilt (low spin).

Quiet, smooth & reliable – Not only have I been very happy with the performance of the machine over the past 2 1/2 years, but tonight it stopped mid-wash with an 'Err 37'. A little bit of googling took me to the F&P youtube page, which showed me exactly how to drain the drum and fix the fault - a hair pin lodged in the pump impeller. No need to take it apart or call in a repair. Brilliant.  Show details

Great washing machine – Love this machine ... super quiet, electronic settings that are easy to follow, washes very well. Only thing to watch out for is when you have a few heavy things in at once (eg a few towels) it can get out of balance and then it seems spin gently rotating from side to side before it then does its spin, which just adds more time to the cycle  Show details

It shreds and torn clothes – Its been just over 5 years I have this machine. It now started to torn and shred my clothes I never seen any other brands reviews have ever had this issue. Smaller items like socks makes way to the drain blocking it every now and then since first month we bought this. I am now an expert in how to fix this problem which doesn't bother me too much.… Read more

Sometimes when its spinning I hear loud banging sound as if something has came loose inside.

So many people mention that the cycle time is much longer than it stated on the screen the 8 mins just never seems to be 8 mins.

I am looking at other brands now to replace a better and bigger capacity one. I am sure none of the other brands would chew my clothes.

Goes okay while its in warranty! – Had this machine for 5 years now. At about 3 years it was past it's 2 year warranty, rust appeared on side. No visible wetness within. I contacted F&P direct and they offered to check it out for a fee plus parts. I was annoyed as 3 years old it shouldn't be having issues! noisy. Machine still works but also having had a F&P dish washer that fell apart gradually with door springs and control panel collapse, it's the last F&P we will be buying! What is annoying is it was sold on it's quietness at spin. No longer!

Do not recommend – Had to get it repaired under warranty because it came out of balance and dented the side. Came out with in 2 days and repaired, good customer service. Its about 4 years old now and is extremely loud and smells burning after spinning. Also leaving grease stains on clothes. Also sometimes takes hours to spin out clothes because its out of balance. Show details

Short lifespan, no support – Was whisper quiet when we first purchased but after about 3 years started to make a horrible noise on spin, F&P wanted around a $120 just to check plus whatever the replacement parts/labour would be. clothes. I spoke with F&P and they basically said too bad, so sad. I accept that it's out of warranty but I got 9+ years out of our old cheap Simpson front loader. 3 to 4 years is just plain poor but F&P seem to think that's acceptable.

Under 4 years' old, disappointing and expensive for 4yrs – Our first front loader experience has been disappointing (couple only, no tradie clothes), especially since we had our F&P top loader for well over a decade and only changed to update to front loader. the right time. Then on spin, if the items were towels or anything heavy eg even just one towel, it would go out of balance and just not spin. It is impossible to wash towels because of the spin so we've been going to the neighbours to wash our towels. It's okay just for small cycles on reduced spin but we need to buy a new one and will not look at F&P ever again. Paid for a (non-F&P) service person to investigate who charged us $300+ to look at washer and fix our F&P clothes dryer(!). Washing machine diagnosis: the bracket holding the inner and outer drums was cracked. Hubby rang F&P who refused to assist at all as the warranty is only two years. I have a video of it in operation but it won't attach below.

A miserable brand and worst service – The worst machine ever, and their greed is enormous; heartless company; #damaged office uniforms; kids dresses and many more. #Simply split the cloths during spinning; slit and torn apart. Unbelievable. When asked to have a look, they will only asked for a warranty, but not looked at the cause of the problem. SHAME on you. Never buy this ..I won't.  Show details

Unreliable – Worst appliance in my house! We have lived in our home for just over two years and have so many issues with this washing machine, always has error codes and the technichians take so long to come out and fix it. Terrible Machine, has had the same part replaced three times – I will never buy a Fisher and Paykel appliance again. I have had the bellows replaced three times, each time they only last for a few months. Usually they break off at the same point, the last time the machine started leaking before the piece broke off so I was able to take photos and show the repairman how it was getting suctioned to the door… Read more

which then resulted in it breaking each time. I had it replaced again yesterday after a two week wait for service, in November it was a three week wait for service. In November the pump was not placed in correctly by the repair man (even though that had nothing to do with the problem) and the machine leaked straight away. So much for the testing process, this time my quiet machine sounds like a plane taking off, so I will need to call them again to come out to see no doubt waiting another two weeks. They can't even do the testing process correctly in my case there was no attempt to test, as the power plug was not even connected.

Love it it's fantastic – I love the front loader as I have always used a top loader. It cleans to perfection gentle on my clothes which is a big plus. It is very quiet when running so it doesn't disturb anyone sleeping. It saves on my water bill so very economical. I find it very easy to use, no problems cleaning inside the barrel. Hate it – Although the it cleans my clothes quite well, there are some things I don't like. There is no Wool wash cycle and no way to have a warm rinse. It is not a patch on the previous F& P models where you could make up your preferred cycle yourself. The everyday cycle is too long at 59 minutes. It used to take 40 minutes with the old model. Perhaps some of these facts are why this model has been discontinued.

Poor, Poor Service – Great machine until it stopped working (after 14 months) and came up with error 37...pump....cleared the pump and it still won't work. So Quiet – Bought the Fisher and Paykel after researching front loaders online. Features I was looking for included cycle times, quietness, reliability and washing/spin performance. Most (all?) of the front loaders do not take their full weight of clothes in all of their cycles. This model takes a full load and an hour on the "everyday cycle" which is… Read more

quite reasonable.

I removed the transport bolts and used a spirit level to level the machine. 1 minor complaint is that I had to raise the machine slightly to turn the rubber leveling feet as they would not wind down with the weight of the machine on them. There are also lock nuts on the feet to lock them in position.

Once leveled the washer is remarkably quiet, spinning at 1100 rpm during the spin I can only just hear it in the next room. Noisiest part of the cycle is the water filling, I can hear the taps come on but thats about it.

As for washing performance we have only had it for a week but seems to clean well and clothes come out quite dry.

The perfect addition to my house – This machine is just the best! Not only is it gentle in clothes, quiet and efficient to run it also comes with huge selection of washes...15 mins to bulky washes, delayed start, temp adjustment and the ability to add things once the cycle has started...AMAZING! Highly recommend this front loader machine!

Good quiet washing machine – Very happy with this purchase. It is quiet n washes clean. I use the everyday washing function takes an hr n always does the job. 1100 spin cycle dries the cloth sufficiently too. I read some bad reviews on this machine before I bought it but all were non-sense suppose maybe someone doesn't know they hv to take transition bolts out before they connect it?
