Purchased this fridge in 2020 from Winning Appliances. Purchased the additional 3 yr warranty. The fridge has broken down just 4 months shy of the warranty running out. Yes that is a 5 year old fridge. This has been expected by Fisher & Paykel tech indicating leaking gas. This is a known fault and this fridges life expectancy is approximately 5 years. Disappointing – Bought end of December 2020. Compressor failed end of 2021. Replaced entire fridge under warranty. April 2024 water filter head started leaking. Tried new filter, no change. The head was from the original fridge, and also had the kit from the replacement fridge so replaced with that which also leaked. Waiting to see what Fisher and Paykel support… Read more
say, but even if they decide to replace I suspect the new filter head will also leak. You can see why it leaks because there are two parts (black and white) and it leaks between them. Looking at a third party option.
Expected more from a > $2k appliance. More fool me I guess. It's the 21st century, we shouldn't be having these problems.
Leaky filter housing ruined floor – The water filter housing at the rear of our Fisher and Paykel French door fridge has had a constant slow leak that ruined our spotted gum flooring adjacent to the fridge. the water dispenser. Its very good also at the most important and basic of all functions: a steady keeping temperature so food stays fresh, and chilling full shopping load quickly. the freezer can be very cold. also the bottle alarm mostly means things dont explode/forgotten in the freezer any more. the door drawers are good and solid glass shelves... only thing thats flimsy is the rear liner for the crisper drawers (whcih you only discover when something spills int he back of the fridge) but its bendiness means its easy to get in/out without breaking. oh and we had a good experience with Harvey Norman installers, who knew it well, wiggled it down the hall and installed it well wihtout scratching the new floors. paid $2600 for the fridge, plus installation and 3 year extended warranty to bring it to $2899. EDIT#1. after 18 months of use: All is well. Still love the fridge. I changed the water filter at 14 months (instead of 12 as it took that long for flow to slow down significantly). Important to do and easier to change than expected. Important to properly purge repeatedly EXACTLY as per instructions in the manual or you get noisy gurgling in the water system if any bubbles are left. My other tip is buy 5-10 years worth of filters in advance. So you never need to think about it again. Fridge runs well and quietly. EDIT#2. issues developed in the next 18months. Service and support was very good, replacement fridge provided during works. While its inconvenient to get a breakdown, I am very stasfied with the outcome and would buy the fridge again. Well done F&P for your support of your high end products during their expected lifetime... ;-)
Bad experience with this product and terrible customer service from fisher and paykel – Handles missing on delivery. Several faults within 6months: Faulty water tank sensor, then control panel and then faulty ice maker. freezer door also sticks can easily be accidentally left open. Show details
nice fridge for the money – The fridge is nice looking and solid , good value , very quiet , and functional . The stainless finish looks good and is easy to clean . Does a great job of keeping food fresh and cold . However the ice maker is too slow , and the instruction booklet could be better . Over all I am happy . Show details
Ok Fridge but the stainless finish is poor – This fridge looks great as long as you never touch it. The stainless finish is not very good. I’ve had this fridge for about 12 months and it has severl tiny dents. And I never noticed how they happened. A container accidentaly fell from a shelf onto the freezer door and left a large dent on the top edge that is unsitely. But the worst thing… Read more
about the stainless finish is that it leaves finger prints everywhere. I have to clean it 3 - 4 times a day. It looks disgusting. The layout of the fridge is great. That was a main reason why I purchased it. The slide out drawers are nice. The doors are easy to open but won’t close easily on their own. The fridge will beep when the doors are left open which is very handy. The temperature can be inconsistent too. Sometimes drinks and condiment jars will freeze whilst other drink bottles are not very cold. This only happens on the top shelf though. Even at it’s coldest setting it doesn’t quite get as cold as my 20 year old Westinghouse fridge that is still running. In contrast, the freezer compartment works very well. And contrary to what other reviewers have stated, this is not the quietest fridge. I don’t know whether mine has a fault but every now and then I can hear an annoying buzzing from the motor. I expected more from a premium product at this price range.

Great fridge – This is a really good fridge/freezer. It is quite solidly made, with the drawers being on metal runners. It is very quiet and efficient. The water filter and water line was pretty easy to install. It keeps our food very fresh. Particularly good for keeping vegies crisp in the vegie drawer. Overall, no problems. Perfect fridge – Since owning this fisher &paykel fridge, it’s been so much more easier for us as a family of 3 to have a better storage system in our fridge. There is heaps of room and easier to organise lots of vegetables with the big storage boxes at the bottom of the fridge. The freezer is also great and the ice blocks just fill up automatically when they are low. The storage on the doors of the fridge are plentiful also. Show details
Not Bad – Not a bad fridge. It definitely keeps everything cold in all areas of the fridge, cannot fault it there. It is a bit noisy, but nothing super bad. Looks great, super clean and smart looking. Cleaning the inside is a breeze all drawers are removable and dishwasher friendly. I recommend this for you!! Show details
