Bought this fridge in late November 2021 from Harvey Norman after our 27 year old Westinghouse side x side suddenly died. Didn’t have much time to research but came to Product Review to look at real owners opinions. This Mitsubishi fridge was a clear standout - loved the layout and the idea of a separate crisper drawer and the non-plumbed ice maker. We paid $2900-, down from the listed $3299-, including delivery and disposal of the old fridge.
We knew from the reviews that the left hand door flap could be an issue, and from the first week, i...
Read moret was - flap constantly popping open, despite us always using the hidden door handle to open it. Arranged for Mitsubishi to repair under warranty (they were very responsive). The repairman replaced the door flap as the spring was now not functional. One key thing he mentioned is that when these fridges are delivered, the installers are supposed to remove the very thin long plastic strip on the inside of the door flap which is there for shipping purposes only - but they never do so the strip pushes the spring out of alignment and the flap pops out. It would be good if Mitsubishi perhaps had a tag on this strip advising it needs to be removed upon installation. Things we love about this fridge:- - Great functional size - French doors provide wide shelves for platters etc. Shelves are somewhat adjustable - we removed the egg tray from one of the door shelves and took out the top shelf on the LH side so we could have room for more tall bottles. The bottom shelf on either side readily takes 2 x 3L Milk jugs. - The Ice-maker is easy to use and works brilliantly.Purchased in November 2021 at Harvey Norman Retail Stores - Electronics for $2,999.
Never go past a Mitsubishi fridge
This is the 3rd Mitsubishi fridge I have purchased now, for my home and two other properties. I have the older Grande quad door, 2018 model, the newer grande, 2020 model and now this.
As expected, excellent value for money and a quality product. Quiet motor, added feature of auto ice-maker. Heaps of room in all compartments.
If I am to find any negatives:
1. the ice maker does make a somewhat loud noise when dispensing ice cubes as they're ready. But this was very sporadic. Otherwise, I had to press my ear to the unit to confirm it was runn...
Read moreing. It is very quiet in all other respects. 2. The two lower cooling drawers in the main fridge compartment would benefit from being split in the middle, so you can open one drawer without having to open both French doors first, like previous models. Plastic drawers are quite flimsy compared to previous models also, but with a little care it shouldn't be an issue.Purchased in December 2021 at Appliances Online for $2,800.

Crisper freezes fruit and vege
We have had non stop issues for almost a year now with the crisper freezing our fruit and veg. The crisper was the reason we purchased this fridge specifically and it has been so disappointing. We have had multiple electricians come to fix this issue however none seem to be able to. The saga is on going and from a customer service experience side of things it has not been a good ride. I would not recommend this very expensive fridge to anyone.

We read the reviews and knew the plastic flap on the french doors could be problematic but the other features swayed us to purchase it. It WAS a problem so we just rang Mitsubishi who put us in contact with a local repairer who came promptly and fixed it. We were very happy with that. Otherwise the fridge is excellent. I particularly like the veggie drawer which definitely keeps veggies and fruit longer (special light inside). It is so convenient to access and has large capacity (family of 4). The drawer freezer is also well designed and th...
Read moree ice maker works fine. The upper section is spacious and I can easily store large lasagne dishes and pots. Perhaps not as much space for bottles and jars on the door but I probably need to use it better. I find that it is not as cluttered as our old fridge - probably because all the excess veggies and fruit aren't in there. The glass front is so quick and easy to wipe over - much better than stainless. The temperature control is excellent - unlike our old fridge which froze my veggies. Aesthetically the glass looks great.Purchased in July 2021 at Appliances Online for $2,614.

Great fridge but was plagued with left door flap issues. (Easy fix)
Fantastic fridge bar the poor left door lap design.
Fixed this by putting 2 small magnets on the rotating partition aka the left door flap.
This “mod” does not inhibit functionally of the rotating partition at all. (do at your own risk)
Don’t let this phase you about buying the fridge because it’s 5/5 in every other way.

I have owned this fridge now for about 6 months, and it has been excellent! Some people seem to have issues with their vegetable drawer, but I must say, my veggies have not lasted that long ever before! The only annoying thing is that I don't notice my vegetables every time I open the normal fridge doors, and I tend to forget to eat them, but that's clearly my problem not the fridge's.
Design wise, the fridge has a lot of space, and is well balanced between the fridge and freezer space. The slight limitation is the fridge shelf height, all shel...

Elegant, Spacious and Innovative
- Reliable, Energy Efficient, Modular, Sleek design.
- Love the hardened glass doors. So easy to clean!
- All settings are built into a touch screen on the front glass door.
- Vege draw is deep and spacious & keeps everything fresh.
- Deep draw freezer with a sliding tray on top
- Ice maker is compact and out of view. Built into the chassis so it doesn’t take up valuable space.
- This fridge is the beginning of the ‘commercial range’ of fridges, yet the warranty is double a normal fridge.
- Easy to disassemble and reassemble (a section at a time), to clean
- Is the price worth it? Absolutely! It will last you 20 years at least based on our usage (with growing young boys) and it’s passed the ‘hard knocks’ test already.

Great fridge now door is FINALLY fixed.
We also had the common door problem ie left hand door not closing properly. Harvey Norman organised Mitsubishi to send someone to fix. They ordered another part and replaced but same problem reappeared within hours. During this whole scenario I had another part posted to me from Mitsubishi, delivery men ring me trying to deliver a part in WA (I live in QLD) and then Mitsubishi rang my number asking for the person in WA who had the same last name. She had got our details mixed up. This worked to our advantage I explained the problem to her and w...
Read moreas advised it was an easy fix and she would organise someone to come and sort. Well here we go again, they wanted to replace the same part again, I explained what Mitsubishi told me over the phone and suggested they contact Mitsubishi before trying to fix again. They finally got back to me and came back to fix problem, it's simple, all you have to do is remove a piece of white plastic strip out of door and amazing it works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why oh Why can't Mitsubishi explain this to the repairers they use for warranty claims is beyond me. Get your act together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Purchased in October 2020 at Harvey Norman for $3,000.
Ruined by inadequate door flap design
Overall I love this fridge/freezer.
Spacious and elegant aesthetically.
The major drawer back is the plastic flap on the left door with a cheap spring action which fails to operate efficiently and causes the user to manually have to flick it back to close. My complaint to Harvey Norman was finally addressed after the first six weeks of ownership and my fridge was replaced with another identical one in February 2021. Unfortunately, now after only four months the problem has raised itself again. I can only hold some hope that maybe this glitch can be addressed or I shall be looking to exchange the fridge. The doors are fundamental to the operation of the fridge and as a retiree I was hoping this purchase would maybe last for twenty years.

Have owned this fridge for 2 years and extremely pleased. The shelves and drawers are well laid out and a functional size. Easy to clean and access. (A mother must have designed it) The manual ice maker is quite functional. Freezer and vegetable draw a very functional. Never regretted the purchase.

What an absolute Gem of a fridge.
It looks really terrific - it is very spacious - and the subdued cinema style lighting when the doors are open - makes it look very classy. The Ice Maker works perfectly. With the energy efficient ECO Mode switched on this fridge is also a very economical appliance.

Excellent fridge with wow factor
Purchased this online with appliances online who were excellent and delivered the next day. Delivery guys were excellent also and new fridge was installed and old fridge gone efficiently and safely.
Wow! What is not to love about this fridge. It gets better inside, pull out the drawer for cheese and small goods on a platter and same for cold meat storage below. There is plenty of room inside the main compartment and the veg drawer and freezer are huge. How good is the auto ice maker with water fill in the fridge! The control panel on the glass ...

Fantastic Fridge - Fruit & Veg Storage Abounds
I bought this fridge about 6 months ago and it's been a pleasure to use. The main attraction was the huge vegetable drawer, which has kept everything fresh and I never freezes vegetables, which was a constant issue with my last fridge. I had been leaning towards the larger 710L model but the veg drawer won me over. The freezer is usable, split into two compartments like most freezer drawers and the auto-icemaker works flawlessly. I appreciate not having to deal with plumbing and having easy to clean components. The main fridge compartment is ample and well laid out, with a separate space for meat to be kept at a lower temperature.
It's been very quiet and looks smart in the kitchen. I would highly recommend this one!

Expensive Product with serious and known defect
I have two of these fridges. The first one bought in 2017 for my main home and as I liked it so much, I decided to buy one for the holiday home in October 2020. As you will see from other reviews, the left door has a significant defect that simply makes the fridge unusable by anyone who doesn't know what to do to compensate for it. This means permanent damage to the fridge is a high risk and it is also very possible that the user doesn't realise that it hasn't properly closed and you cause the loss of cold air in the fridge as a result. Whi...
Read morelst the problem may seem minor, it is actually a major defect as an important part of a fridge is its seal. I would not buy one unless you can get the display unit and you have tested the door several times. 2 months later and I still have the problem after multiple calls and visits to Harvey Norman and their contact to Mitsubishi. A service person is coming tomorrow but he said it is likely he'll have to order a part and that may be a few months....in the meantime, I hope someone doesn't break it. On another note, it is a bulky fridge so you would need plenty of room for it if you still think it is worth buying.Purchased in October 2020 at Harvey Norman for $3,000.
Questions & Answers
I’ve had this fridge a bit over 6 months now, and from day one it’s left door is lower than the right door in the closed position. The gap is as big as 1cm. I’ve looked on forums and some suggests this is normal. But I’ve loaded the doors with milk and other items and it did not help level the doors. I’ve also started to notice that cold air is leaking ever so slightly out of the right door, at the bottom inner corner. Could the uneven doors be the cause of this?
Yes, uneven doors could cause the air leak. Have you tried adjusting the adjustable feet under your fridge? Give that a go first and the doors may level up. If that doesn't make a difference definitel...
Read morey give Mitsubishi a call. Their after sales service is excellent and a major drawcard for me personally. Good luck.Hi Monica,
You may need to adjust the legs to level the doors of your fridge, please see page 5 of the operation manual for instructions https://www.mitsubishielectric.com.au/assets/LEG/NZ79C688H01_IB...
Does the crisper drawer keep unbagged fruit and veg fresh? I don't want to have to bag everything separately as some have suggested. I've read that fruit and veg should be kept in separate compartments as they have different humidity/ethylene reactions. I live in the hot humid north where everything even onions etc have to go in the fridge.
I would like to replace the water purification filter in the water supply tank. Does anyone know where I can purchase them thank you
