Freedom Andersen Modular Questions & Answers
VerifiedI’m trying to source washable covers for this sofa. Does anyone have the dimensions or know where to find covers that will fit?
Can you wash Andersen sofa seat and cushion covers?
Hi Gill,
This one is dry clean only.
We are looking at purchasing the 6 seater modular Andersen, it is still on sale and looks fantastic however the reviews are appalling, does anyone have any good reviews? Why would freedom still stock it if it didn’t deliver on investment
Hi Susie,
I don’t know but it was by far the worst sofa I’ve ever owned. We have one Harvey Norman and one focus on furniture 6 seaters and both far out weigh the freedom. The sofa didn’t hold up at all I would never recommend them to anyone
Sorry
Hi Susie, Please save yourself the extreme discomfort and disappointment! Yes, the lounge looks amazing but it is a total lemon! I purchased mine about 15 months ago and I am now at the point where I can’t even sit on it as it gives me a dreadful backache. The entire lounge has sagged and is now completely unusable. Someone was sent out to replace the inserts but the problem soon returned after just a few weeks. I am now at a stage where I just have to cut my losses and give it away as there is no way I could sell it. I have now ordered a new leather lounge from Nick Scali (they are having a big sale at the moment) and I am more than satisfied with the quality of the product I will be receiving. And it looks great too! Please Susie, think carefully before buying the Andersen as it is a totally inferior lounge made in China. I also forgot to mention the feathers poking out and jabbing you when you sit on it! I really can’t believe that Freedom is still selling this rubbish. I just wish I had read all the reviews first. Good luck with your decision Susie. My advice is to shop around first.
Cheers, Louise B
Thank you so much for taking the time
Hi, another question pls, did you purchase the Mark II Andersen as it’s supposed to be different material , ie not all down, appreciate your response
Hi Susie,
Yes, mine was the Andersen Mark II
Thank you for your trsponse
I have a 2.5 seater and a 3 seater and have the modular in the theatre room. Our whole family love our lounges. If anyone does any research all duck and feather lounges loose a lot of feathers. This is normal. We once a week fluff and rotate our cushion backs. The seats are still firm and comfy. I remove and wash all the covers every 8 months to chuck into the wash. Professionally cleaned once a year. No fading and our lounge is so sunny. All three lounges are 7.5 years old
Thank you Nicky for your feedback
Good morning, We have had our Anderson Sofa for about 5years & have been extremely happy with it. The feathers that everyone talks about did poke through a lot so I called Freedom. They promptly sent someone to put covers on all the cushions under the fabric. Problem solved. We are a family of 6 adults & we all find it super comfortable, easy to clean . Hope that helps.
Anyone have any updates on this couch if they have changed the fabric or seat foams? I see they are still selling it instore?
It is still the same. It is made up with feathers and they do come out. We have had the lounge now for 18 months and while a very comfortable lounge we are disappointed that it constantly loses feathers. If I had my time again we would not buy this lounge. Freedom advise it’s not a fault and you should expect this to happen. Whilst I understand you would lose a few I do not expect to still be happening. Advice would be to steer clear of it.
I'm looking to buying a Andersen modules lounge for 5299 can someone tell me anything about them?
Dont buy anything from Freedom. Fading not covered even if faded so much within 12 months. They won't admit there is a fault in the fabric. My lounge went from brown to pink in that time even with a verandah all around the house and block out blinds and awnings. No direct sun. Had my previous lounge for 17 years in exactly the same position with no problem. All they could say was fading not covered even with extra warranty.
Thanks
We adored ours and found it the most comfortable sofa we've ever owned. Now selling due to travel plans with quite a lot of reluctance. Big sofa. The fabric fading did not happen to ours in an ambient lit Canberra apartment but we'd be very upset if it did. Wonder if climate affects the fabric too?
Seriously they are rubbish hard on the back and no support don't take my word just sit on a shop one for 10 minutes. Trouble is they are still selling this faulty product which has led to my decession that freedoms morals are suspect. This was the Anderson lounge but since they haven't pulled of their floor then it could be any product they wish to pawn off. My NZ number is 0275767475 and happy to descuss
don't do it !!!! I've had an Anderson MK II 3 seater since August 2013. Like a lot of others have reported here, the seat cushions sag, and badly, to the point they're no longer comfortable to sit on, giving you a sore butt that lasts for quite a while after having sat down for less than an hour. Having said that, everything else is in excellent order on the lounge. It's not near a window, so I haven't seen fading (I'd expect fading if it were in the sun anyway). Having said all of that, I think I'll be donating this one to the Salvos now, trying to find a decent replacement. I thougaht Kings were the bees' knees, but not so, according to their reviews.
Don't buy a lounge from Freedom. I bought a Andersen Single seater Ottoman and 3 seater. We found there was no support in the centre of the 3 seater couch so that if you sat on the side you would full toward the middle. We had a guy from freedom come out and all he said was we had to keep turning the cushions. The feathers keep poking through as well. I contacted freedom again and they basically said the case was closed and they would do nothing else. I would never consider buying a lounge from Freedom again. DONT DO DID!!!
