Cons: I had a mixed experience with delivery. When I purchased the sofas in-store, the team mentioned that all the packaging and rubbish would be removed, which was great - what made me purchase them.
However, when I ordered the table online, I was surprised to find that the delivery service didn’t include bringing the item inside or removing the packaging. The table was extremely heavy (close to 100 kg) and was left outside my house. It was very difficult to move and unbox on my own, and I imagine it would be almost impossible for someone elderly or living alone.
I completely understand that delivery teams have their limits, but I wish there had been an option at checkout to pay extra for indoor delivery and rubbish removal. If such an option exists, it wasn’t clearly visible when I placed my order.
I’ve had the same delivery driver for both the sofa and the table. While he made a few joking comments about the weight of the furniture, it left me feeling a little uncomfortable about my choices. I appreciate that the job is tough; however, I did feel like I needed to apologise to him for the weight of the sofa I ordered. Not a biggie, but a bit more professionalism would have made the experience smoother.

Sorrento couch is a piling nightmare – I’ve had the couch a year or so now. I paid for the scotchguarding. Goodness. The piling is just horrific. Makes this expensive couch look cheap and extremely uncomfortable. I don’t put blankets on it, that makes it worse. I don’t wear comfy trackies on it, that makes it worse too. Imagine having to consider the clothing you’re wearing to avoid making your couch unsightly and uncomfortable. I’ve purchased covers to hide it. I thought I had passed the “couch cover” phase when I dropped 3K on this purchase. I’ve tried everything. I know it’s a “feature” they “warn” you about but it was bad within days of receiving it and it’s not just a little wear - it’s really disappointing. I have genuine buyer remorse, from a distance the couch looks great but the fabric is rough and ugly and bumpy all over. Very dissatisfied.
Update ::: Feb 2025 - I submitted a warranty claim on the advice of a store member who said this pilling wasn’t normal. My claim was denied stating piling is expected and part of maintenance. The piling is worse only 3 years in and piling devices don’t work for this level of significant piling, new photos provided.

Staff at Balgowlah were super friendly and helpful in securing the last rug in stock for us at sale price. When we went to pick it up, they also helped put through an order for a couch for us to receive in three weeks (as opposed to waiting the standard 12-14 weeks) and were patient with the gift cards we used to purchase.
