furnishings over 30 years. Now we are looking to furnish our new apartment in the city with Freedom furnitures again but have been extremely dissapointed/disgusted with Freedom Nunawading & will NEVER EVER shop with Freedom - Nunawading.
We came back on the 26/12/2025 appproxmatively 1:30pm to say that we want to cancel one of of our orders the 2 Cristo Occassional Chair Ivory ($1598) chairs but wanting to collect the rest. We were horified when we were told that we had to pay $45 - for the cancellation fees by the Manager [Name Removed] on duty - redicoulous.
We informed the Manager [Name Removed] that at no time when we were in the store (for over 1 1/2hrs) purchasing all these 6 items- not ever did the Freedom salesperson mentioned to either of us that there's a cancellation fees of $45. Additionally when we made the full payment at the register - there were no signs to indicate to the general public that there's a cancellation fees of $45.
I explained this to the Manager [Name Removed] but she completely disregard and said that she is sorry that the salesperson didn't informed us but we are still required to pay that $45 - regardless. I told the Manager [Name Removed] on principle I refused to pay that cancellation fees simplly because the staff was incompetent or purposedly not wanting to infom the customers of this cancellation fees. This is unprofessional & unethical to expect us to pay that cancellation fees when the error was made by Freedom furniutre in not informing any customers prior to purchasing & there's no printed copy on the desk for all customers to see. This is unprofessional. The Manager [Name Removed] couldn't show us a printed copy while we were at the register - unprofessional.
I then told the Manager [Name Removed] to cancel all my orders and we will NEVER EVER purchase anything ever again from Freedom - Nunawading. Goodbye & good ridd........-Freedom - Nunawading.

Great experience – Bought the Aspect Sofa in store at Nunawading. Timeframe quoted was spot on, delivery guys unpack, screw legs on and take rubbish away. Sofa and Ottoman are perfect, so comfy and look amazing, and as bought at half yearly sales nearly 50% off. Great extra bed for guests. Storage in ottoman is great. Very very impressed. Freedom- Soiled Rug and atrocious customer service – 2 months ago, I purchased a Freedom Rug from the Nunawading store and paid an Airtasker $60 (evidence provided) to have it picked up and delivered to my home, as I didn’t have the means to pick it up myself. The carpet stains are unsightly and therefore the carpet is unusable. I contacted the Freedom online contact centre and [Name Removed] offered his apologies and promised to resolve my issue of the damaged carpet. During multiple emails back and forth, he claimed to have contacted the Nunawading store twice and escalated it to the Store Manager to no avail; next he escalated my complaint to the Regional Manager to no avail and lastly at my request, he submitted my complaint for resolution to the Freedom Head Office with a further empty promise that he would get back to me within 2 business days with an update. Alas, all I heard were the sound of crickets and I was subsequently ghosted.
There were 10 emails between Freedom and my self since September 2022 and it is now November. My complaint and its impending resolution were rudely ignored and disregarded. I felt incredibly bullied by this company who have treated their customers with disrespect (also seen in other Freedom reviews) and violated customer rights under consumer law having sold a product that is NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE. There was NO QUALITY CONTROL and Freedom has shown NO ACCOUNTABILITY.
As a fair and reasonable resolution, I am asking for the soiled product to be picked up from my residence as I do not have the means to drive; a refund of the paid product price; as well as a $60 Freedom Voucher with no minimum spend as a gesture of good will for the out-of-pocket cost I endured to have a stained, unusable rug delivered to my home— had I known Freedom had provided me a soiled rug, obviously I would not have wasted my money further paying for its delivery. It is one thing that the rug came damaged , but how Freedom have dealt with this is entirely another matter. Freedom has demonstrated DEPLORABLE CONDUCT. Why would anyone want to deal with a company that will cause them a big headache, when there are companies with better management and better customer charters?!!!

months and constant email updates ensured I knew of any small delays. Delivery guys were good after originally being a bit worried about getting the sofa through the door. They got it in and took away all the packaging so the whole process was very easy.
