Useless unit, don’t do it Should have gone MHI, noisy, does not cool no mater what any Fujitsu tech might say, 3 k down the bin, will remove and place on kerb as that’s all it’s good for to be honest. Cheap and nasty build, cheapest remote, almost reject shop like…very disappointing expensive lesson. Show details

Coil replaced after three years – Our Fujitsu Lifestyle air conditioner was working well until in late Summer is stopped cooling. Everything worked OK except the unit would not cool. Harvey Norman took a week to organise a visit by a Fujitsu authorised repairer who tested for leaks and declared the coil to be faulty - something the repairer said is now commonplace. A month later… Read more

we still had no replacement coil and no fix, the authorised repairer claimed Fujitsu must have supply issues. We rang Fujitsu support who claimed parts were in stock and took details from us, promptly sending the parts to their authorised repairer. The unit is again working properly, albeit almost two months after it failed. Meantime we installed a second smaller Panasonic unit to enable us to survive while our three year old Fujitsu unit was inoperable.

Look elsewhere – I purchased this unit and within 6 months it started making a gurgling sound that lasted for 12 hours. I had to sleep in a different room as the noise was so loud. I contacted the installer and they thought it could be a power surge and to reset the unit. Everything was good but it happened again twice every 6 months. The installation was… Read more

recently checked with no issues but they believe it to a mechanical issue. Fujitsu were originally quick to respond but in the end it took 2 months for a technician to inspect the unit and said nothing was wrong with no explanation of what could be causing the sound. I am still under warranty but they don’t seem to want to know about it. What a waste of $3,500 for an average unit even when it is working.

Decent air conditioner terrible design – Unit works just fine. The engineers didn't design the unit for rear mounting of the lines. Now I have the plumbing coming in the side like an industrial building, inside my house. Looks ugly and stupid. Avoid Fujitsu unless you like that look. Show details

We went with Fujitsu units in all our rooms in the house. They have really good and has been running like charm. For the installation Fujitsu recommended Blue Star Air Conditioning as we had some challenging locations in some of the rooms. They did an excellent job in maintaining the aesthetics inside whilst connecting the interior units with the exterior units and managed to do it all in a single day. Show details ·  1

Works OK if you ignore bells and whistles, but high star rating is misleading – Replaced old faithful Fujitsu split system with this seeming equivalent just before a heatwave. Tried everything but it wouldn't cool (turned out to be a bad install by a lying unqualified electrician so this is an update from one star, belatedly discovered after several years parked after mediation). Buried in the user manual, but not… Read more

advertised as a key spec, was a max indoor operating temp of 32C, which isn't much help if you don't start the system before the room hits that limit, which it can do very quickly.

The High star efficiency rating is false advertising - most of the "savings" are achieved not by better technology, but by a variety of automatic shutdowns that just allowed the temperature to rise and then use more power getting it back down again. There are also different star ratings for heating and cooling in different climate types, which I wasn't aware of prior to purchase.

By disabling all the bells and whistles, and manually managing when and how I set and turned it on, it does a reasonable job of heating and cooling, particularly when combined with an overhead fan to aid air circulation.

Fujitsu don’t have spare parts – My Fujitsu split system is 10 years old I live in Melbourne and we only get about 2 weeks of really hot weather so the unit has had very little use, anyway turned it on and the outdoor unit wasn’t working, so I called for a serviceman to come out he found the problem apparently a skink had got inside and fried itself to the motherboard. I thought… Read more

ok things happen and I asked him to order the parts and this where I found out that Fujitsu doesn’t have the motherboard as it’s 10 years old. Now I have a piece of rubbish that I have to replace, I wonder why a little skink can get in in the first place which I thought it would have been a sealed unit. This fujitsu aircon costs me $1800 plus $500 to install. With all the money Fujitsu spends on advertising I would have thought that they would be busting down the door to help me, I wasn’t complaining about the cost of fixing it which was $680. I’ll never buy anything else from them and I hope people will read this review. I rang Fujitsu this morning and gave them the opportunity to help me in some way only to be told it’s a 20 year old unit so not only they won’t help but there selling old units as new ones. I told them that I was putting up a review on product review and they didn’t seem at all interested, it was like we don’t care what you do.

Expensive experience – Just as the warranty expires, the indoor unit starts playing up. Typical ☹️ and this is supposed to be a reputable brand! Too costly to repair it and also as the model has been discontinued, it will be difficult to source the spare parts. We are living in a throw away economy.

Purchased at Harvey Norman in Feb 2023 and installed March 2023. Its an ok air conditioner. In cooling mode it does great. You do need to set a colder temperature otherwise it might start getting humid and emit a smell. Also after leaving it on all day it did create condensation and spit some water... comfortable 19c. Seeing as thats not very hot it does stop to save power which is where it starts to make refrigerant gurgling noises. Also every now and again it does make a pssst sound like a bike tyre going flat and the power light flashes. It does continue working after it needs to turn on again. This is an issue if you intend to install it in a bedroom where you sleep right under it. Edit: Fujitsu did contact me after submitting this review. A Fujitsu technician came for free under a warranty claim and they said its normal after doing a few checks. That is disappointing as I have other aircons using R32 refrigerant that don't make the noises or 80% quieter.

Power usage is very efficient when the temp is set reasonably. I monitor it using my solar/battery consumption meter and am happy with it compared to another unit that this Fujitsu replaced.

I find it strange that some of the important features are hidden on the remote under the slide cover. such as mode and fan speed. I did purchase the optional Wi-Fi dongle/adapter branded as myanywAIR by sensibo. The temperature sensor for some reason read 2c higher than another thermometer and my manual glass thermometer. Some features are also hidden behind a subscription but that's expected.

Heap of rubbish – I had this replace my 17 year old fujitsu and I should have bought a Mitsubishi instead. This piece of junk suddenly has no control over the temperature. For the first 4 months of owning it everything worked flawlessly. Now it's got issues. I put it on auto temperature and auto fan speed with swing louvres. Set the temperature I want to 22.5 and… Read more

you would expect it to bring the room to that temperature and hold it. Wrong. It checks the temperature of the room (let's say it's 18 degrees) and switches to heating mode then proceeds to start heating the room. Fast forward about half an hour and the room temperature is now 25.5 and it's still pumping out the heat. So I press the mode button to select cool and instantly the unit recognises its over the 22.5 set temperature and starts to cool the room down. At this point I put it back in auto mode and it keeps cooling. Fast forward half an hour and it's now 19 degrees and still cooling. I put the unit into heat mode and immediately it stops cooling and starts off heating again only to repeat the whole shenanigan. If I leave it long enough in auto mode it will eventually by itself switch from heat to cool or vice versa but it usually is about 6 degrees above or below the setpoint before this happens. I've contacted the installer who said fujitsu say it's the deadband and to adjust the room settings in the function mode. Well the installer did this and all that did was offset the setpoint on the remote compared to the room (ie 22.5 on the remote means the unit will try to keep the room at 24.5 if the mode is changed to +2 degrees or if set to -2 degrees then it tries to keep the room at 20.5). This still didn't stop the whole overshooting of temperature. So the installer says "it's dirty filters". Mate I've owned a reverse cycle air conditioner for 18 years. Do you honestly think that I don't know how to clean the filters? They get done weekly! Everybody do yourself a favour and don't put one of these piles of junk in. No support from fujitsu and make sure you have an installer who actually cares about what they install.

Update : my installer replaced some parts and the unit worked fine for another 3-4 months and once again it is having the same issue. My installer said fujitsu want to see it faulting in person this time. I don't understand how seeing it fault in person is even possible unless the fujitsu tech plans to stay in my house for a few days! Bloody ridiculous. Time for a Mitsubishi.

Update 2: Still have not had this piece of junk fixed. Local installer is useless and submits to Fujitsu like their whipping boy. I asked to get a brand new unit as this one clearly has a problem and they have ignored me. I want a full refund but my installer said no. Australian consumer law is going to be involved now as I'm sick of this.

Not impressed – Fujitsu have been making split system air conditioning for years but I have not come across one that suits Australian conditions. Good unit, quite operation – Had this model for 3 months, although it was a mild summer when we hit the hot days it has performed well and cooled our large living room sufficiently. Quite Impressed – Went for this Fujitsu model as it was recommended by the installer as the premium unit. Can report it runs quitely inside and no problems so far. The outdoor unit is compact, relatively and within the required noise range, we checked the decibels (which we needed for inner city living due to our close neighbour issues). I think the installer chosen is important to ensure its done right. Sleek unit and the sensor feature is handy! Show details ·  1

Terrible - I wish I went elsewhere – 18 degrees at full power, constantly. I put my hand up directly in front of it and feel only a light breeze not even cold but cool. Noisey because it’s at full power constantly. Both installer for the company I purchased it from and talking directly with Fujitsu say it’s working normal. Powerful, quiet and easy to use – I recently upgraded from another Fujitsu unit that lasted over 10 years in a fairly extreme coastal environment. Don't use in North Queensland – The Fujitsu air-conditions do not cope with the North Queensland conditions. We recently built and had 7 installed. use mine below 23⁰C and no matter the outside conditions they still leak, it's now mid May; no difference.

I believe the problem is they can't cope with the humidity and the condensation and plastic sweet builds up dripping down to the fan drum. This in turn causes the drum to build up with extra dirt and causes further issues. I also question the bend in the drain at the head unit, they are bent and given the waste water escapes by gravity well....

We are now stuck with 7 dud units. I installed a different brand in the garage and despite being a harsher area it woks perfectly and has not being cleaned once, not even the dust filters. I even bought $800 worth of air purifiers that were no help. Don't buy Fujitsu and be wary of your suppliers and installers.

The units themselves cannot emit any odour says fujitsu. The unit is 2 months old now I noticed the smell after 2 weeks. expected and should be the case if you run the units responsibly. The indoor noise for both is very minimal, for the 2.5 unit it's almost completely silent for both the indoor and outdoor units. The outdoor unit for the 7.1 is a little louder as expected. I like that both units are not made in China.

My only complaint is that the 2.5kw unit is in a bedroom, the running light on the indoor unit is too bright and can't be switched off, I tape it over. Similarly the remote isn't so easy to set a simple ON or OFF timer and the screen isn't backlit so you have to turn on the light at night to alter the settings. The 2.5kw also doesn't have swimming left/right vanes, they can however be manually set. Living in a coastal area we are also conscious of the risk of corrosion going forward, none yet but watch this space. Fujitsu dominates the market in our salt spray battered neighbourhood and they seem to be doing well at holding up again the elements.

Both units have otherwise proved to be fantastic additions to our home and I would recommend both.
