Heap of rubbish – I had this replace my 17 year old fujitsu and I should have bought a Mitsubishi instead. This piece of junk suddenly has no control over the temperature. For the first 4 months of owning it everything worked flawlessly. Now it's got issues. I put it on auto temperature and auto fan speed with swing louvres. Set the temperature I want to 22.5 and… Read more

you would expect it to bring the room to that temperature and hold it. Wrong. It checks the temperature of the room (let's say it's 18 degrees) and switches to heating mode then proceeds to start heating the room. Fast forward about half an hour and the room temperature is now 25.5 and it's still pumping out the heat. So I press the mode button to select cool and instantly the unit recognises its over the 22.5 set temperature and starts to cool the room down. At this point I put it back in auto mode and it keeps cooling. Fast forward half an hour and it's now 19 degrees and still cooling. I put the unit into heat mode and immediately it stops cooling and starts off heating again only to repeat the whole shenanigan. If I leave it long enough in auto mode it will eventually by itself switch from heat to cool or vice versa but it usually is about 6 degrees above or below the setpoint before this happens. I've contacted the installer who said fujitsu say it's the deadband and to adjust the room settings in the function mode. Well the installer did this and all that did was offset the setpoint on the remote compared to the room (ie 22.5 on the remote means the unit will try to keep the room at 24.5 if the mode is changed to +2 degrees or if set to -2 degrees then it tries to keep the room at 20.5). This still didn't stop the whole overshooting of temperature. So the installer says "it's dirty filters". Mate I've owned a reverse cycle air conditioner for 18 years. Do you honestly think that I don't know how to clean the filters? They get done weekly! Everybody do yourself a favour and don't put one of these piles of junk in. No support from fujitsu and make sure you have an installer who actually cares about what they install.

Update : my installer replaced some parts and the unit worked fine for another 3-4 months and once again it is having the same issue. My installer said fujitsu want to see it faulting in person this time. I don't understand how seeing it fault in person is even possible unless the fujitsu tech plans to stay in my house for a few days! Bloody ridiculous. Time for a Mitsubishi.

Useless Remote – Purchased 2 reverse cycle air conditioners May 2023. I have since discovered that the remote controls DO NOT display Airflow direction in either Up/down or Left/right direction. I now have to physically walk up to the unit to check which direction the left/right vanes are pointing. It makes it even harder to ascertain the direction due to the dark… Read more

coloured vanes in a slightly dimmed room. I have had Mitsubishi units in the past which had Airflow Direction display on the remotes.

EMITS A BAD SMELL – Paid over $2000 for fujitsu split system from Bluestar Only wanted the unit for heating. What a waste of money. It emits a smell on heat cycle I can only best describe as resembling something burning. Bluestar technician says it is amplifying a smell in the house but then says he cant smell anything coming from the air conditioner. Next comes… Read more

fujitsu technician. He can smell the odour from the unit so his answer for that is clean it with a strong smelling tea tree cleaner. He cant smell it now but of course 3 days later when the tea tree smell is gone the burning smell is back. From fujitsu to bluestar they say they have fixed the problem by cleaning it. The units themselves cannot emit any odour says fujitsu. The unit is 2 months old now I noticed the smell after 2 weeks. The smell starts the moment it is turned on and continues generally till its turned off. I havnt had it long and its winter now so havnt tried in on cooling cycle yet. I have 2 other air conditioners same house but zero odours from them.

WIFI Misinformation – I looked up air conditioners and came to the conclusion that this had all the features I required like WIFI and person detection, Great......... then came the reality that it isn't really a full WIFI system that it requires an adaptor which if you can find one will cost you the best of $300, I like the unit but believe that it borders on false advertising. Show details ·  1

Works great – Installed in living room to cool dininig room and kitchen. Easy to operate and great value for money. This is our second fujitsu as I use also in server room where they work 24/7/365 and they last, so I would recommend it. Show reply
