Joshua was patient and very knowledgeable. He helped both my 16 yr old son and I a lot. Completed the build in 48hrs which made a 16 year old birthday boy very happy. Amazing!
Staff are sexist and condescending to women
I had an issue with a product and visited the physical store (staffed only by men) and over the phone (and spoke only to men). My wife was the one who purchased the product, for her pc which she custom built. She was treated like absolute crap, the staff refused to give her proper explanations and insinuated that she didn't know anything about computers... the staff would only speak normally when I jumped on the phone. I said the exact same things that she was saying but the responses I got were much more respectful. I - nor my wife - will ever use GameDude again.
I haven`t bought anything from these guys for many years now due to their terrible customer service and I won`t bother going into details but I will say that there is heaps of good computer retailers out there with great prices, I know because I`ve spent thousands on computer builds so shop around but don`t include these guys on your shopping list, I also find it perplexing that they are still in business after all these years.
Never shopping here again after 16 years
Paid my final visit to Gamedude Computers today after having been a loyal customer since 2004. My wife decided to buy her mother a computer for mothers day and so I picked out some parts for a new pc.
When my wife picked up the parts Friday she was told they were out of stock (despite the website saying otherwise) and was recommended an "equivalent" product. She was told to pay and then handed a pile of box's. Being non technical she didn't realise they swapped the SSD for an inferior and more expensive product (poor brand, different form fact...or, paid $20 more for 20% less performance). Naturally tried to return the un opened item the next business day and spoke with John lee. He argued it was an equivalent product given its an SSD and said it was our fault for not checking before leaving the store and according to terms on the receipt he would have to charge a 15% return fee. We were not told these terms before hand and were not allowed to check the items prior to payment. Tried to explain this to the "warranty manager" john but he insisted there was nothing he would do and wouldn't let us speak to anyone else. Also tried to explain that my wife was non technical and was relying on the sales staff to sell her an equivalent product to which he told us if you are buying from this store you have to be specific about what you are asking and they can't be mind readers. Given the item was unopened, in perfect condition, incorrectly sold to us and returned within a business day. I can't see what cost there is for returning it that would excuse this poor customer service. Customer satisfaction is worth more than the $22.50 restocking fee gamedude will profit off thier mistake. The staff member spent more time in his wages arguing with us and has now guaranteed I will shop elsewhere. As a regular pc builder for enterprise and hobbyists I hope your 15% return fee is worth it. Store policies are great but common sense should prevail and I may even refer this matter to the ACCC.
Not honest service, told me that I laid...
Bought a PC via the phone, some parts according to the advice given over the phone.
Motherboard and WIFI card did not like each other, no WIFI available (MSI products). Did not manage to fix it myself, tried to flash the board, did not work. The service person told me that I opened the PC case, in spite of clearly obvious seal mark. The other seal mark was not done properly and he accused me of opening the box. Charged more then 100 dollars because of it. The choice of parts was very basic. I asked to change the wifi card and was ofered only ol...

If I could give ZERO stars I would
My grandson made an online purchase late on a Saturday night...within an hour I had cancelled the purchase.
These “dudes” refused to accept the cancellation unless I paid $5 - which I agreed to...then they sent it anyway, have had to open a complaint in Ebay that could have been resolved easily if GameDude hadn’t acted like a GameDud.
Avoid this Business at all Costs!!! I can't stress that enough!!!!!
Avoid Dealing with at all Costs. Purchased 2 brand new Lenovo Monitors and 1 had a dead pixel in the middle of the screen out of the box. Gamedude refuses to replace or refund and says we must go through Lenovo. Lenovo says we must go through Gamedude as these are brand new. We are out of pocket for 2 monitors. Taking to fair trading and lodging the complaint as I write this!!!
How not to treat customers
21-2-2020 my pc board failed (I purchased it from this store) several years ago. So I go to springwood to see the big dude behind the counter. He tells me those boards are no longer available and the size has changed ok I can live with that, but he has a second hand board fully operational he can sell me with a 7 day warranty. I purchased it went with a new case and heat grease, went home installed the system, turn it on and cannot get into the bios, finally after a few hours of trying I call gamedude and was told to pull it out again and bring...it in or if I take down the computer it will cost $120 to check out, I return the board and within 1 to 2 minutes the service guy tell me the board has been abused and warranty refused. So I go back next door to see bigdude tell him the story, he says yes the tech already tell him. By now im getting mad I am a computer engineer (1980) and have never abused one in my life (im seventy) we have a dispute he calls the cops, cops come question me I explain what happened he goes into the store comes out with the board hands it to me and tells me the manager wants me off the site and to resole it I will have to go through accc or fair trading. This was a scam the board was faulty but now they have my money and I have a faulty board, and so now the battle begins this will not end will not end well for them. No matter the cost justice will be gained!!!
Terrible customer service over 80 bad reviews and this business still argues the customers are in the wrong!
Simply as I can state it, this business literally has one door for sales and if you have an issue another door (room) for returns. The aim of this department is to decine returns.
Avoid, faulty components and the worst manager you will ever meet. My loyalty of 20 years meant zero when returning a faulty item, infact I was told to apologize for them being sneaky in repairing the faulty item and not telling me before handing it back like it worked just fine. Will never deal with again.
Beware those that believe their own lies!
Don't buy anything used off ebay from Gamedude Computers, absolutely outright lied about the condition of the item, 'Shameless' would be the most exact description. Total bottom feeders who think their customers owe them a living.
Great all round
Been ordering parts from these guys for a while now.
Quick Shipping and customer support as been great.
Never had an issue.
Will shop here again.
Im not sure about this company, i bought a headset from them and so far its amazing. but the next day my mouse broke and i went to get another one from game dudes, and it felt a little second hand i feel like they sell second hand things
Never go here! The most disgusting business ever!
The worst after sales experience I've ever had, pay the extra and go somewhere else! Their warranty service is almost non existent. And even then, they simply don't care.
Long time customer.
Been getting my computer parts from Gamedude for over 10 years. Sales staff are always very friendly and helpful.
If I have any questions about compatibility of parts I’m after the sales staff have always been able to answer them for me.

Like everyone else should have read the review first
i CANT add much to all the other negative reviews where they all say pity about the ONE STAR that we RELUCTANTLY have to give ### The MANAGER if you could call it that is rude # arrogant # loud and self centred person who hasn't learnt a thing about customer service in the 20 years he brags about in the so called business he has been stuffing around in. THE so called SERVICE department is EXACTLY as describe by the many people that have had the pleasure to stand there and listen to the inane lectures from the so called 20 year expert(s).The rea...son I went there in the first place was to see if I could purchase a 2.5" reader for my hard drives on the laptops I have ONE that is a PLUG and PLAY the salesperson said they had such a thing and there is only one left it was a SATA/IDE to USB 2.0 ADAPTOR KIT designed for 2.5", 3.5" IDE AND SATA DRIVER on taking it home I read the instructions tried it on my hard drive which is the older type of HD and nothing happened i tried everything same result so i called a friend i knew who had something similar and he brought it around plugged the adaptor into mains then plugged the HD in worked no problems so i plugged my adaptor into mains went to plug the cord into adaptor hullo no cord in box so went back to the place that i bought it from and told them it was not working and i want a refund i was then orered to go to the SERVICE DEPT i stood in LINE and waited for 20 mins while another customer was being talked out of buying a new $2000 laptop from them sure had a way with customers. When the customer finally gave up and stalked out i wont tell you what i was thinking i was next i told him the problem and would like a refund he said he would test it first as he could find nothing he could find to plug into the adaptor i told him had brought a HD with me and to try that he said no way it was probably faulty (it had just come out of a working laptop) so he went and got his mate who brought out a 3.5" drive to which he said to same person where did he find that old thing in the rubbish bin nice to know he has been in the trade for lot of years it worked and he could read it on the screen i then said try my 2.5" HD he said he wouldn't as i could see his was working that was enough also this had taken another 20mins of my time so i said i wanted a refund as it was not fit for the purpose that i bought it for to which they said no way it was working then things got a little heated so i left thinking i had done my dough. The next day i thought if i am going to keep it i want the power adaptor cord that should have been in the kit to power the HD when using if not i want a refund as the kit is incomplete and useless to me. THAT is when this short loud mouthed person with 20 years in the business started up first he tells me the cord is not in the kit (everything else is but) also i don't know what i am talking about i guess being over 70 leaves me out of it and there will be no refund that's it i said it not plug and play also i had brought the a HD with me when it was checked in the (i have to say it again) SERVICE DEPT yesterday where the so called service tech refused to try it as he said it was probably faulty and i had spent 20 mins to find that out to which he said they could have charged you for their time. THATS when i had had enough i said i want a refund he said there is no way i then said i am going to the Consumer Affairs to which he replied like in the movies GOOD LUCK then he said he would also get the so called service tech to come out here and prove he did not say such a thing that's when THINGS got a little heated so i left as it was a complete WASTE OF TIME so much for consumers and customers rights. To finish i went to the CONSUMER AFFAIRS and you can guess the rest i have been to those places before same results WASTE OF TIME as i have got older i have more time for REVIEWS than i had before and like the hundreds of unhappy reviewers before me i would like to say shove it up ITS going to be interesting to hear what our fearless leader of 20 years experience in the business has to say because a lot of people will be waiting for a laugh YOURS TRULY ??? PS thanks for 20 years of experience tip that you gave me that i should have used a 3.0 USB port as it has more power to drive the HD this is a USB 2.0 Adaptor cheers for that ???

Staff were helpful and polite, but some dodgy business practices
Made a purchase on-line from their website based on the best price I could find. Rang after 48hours without a dispatch notice only to find there was none in stock, a little disappointing that the website did not advise of this.
Sales staff were polite and helpful, said they would investigate and call back when they found some stock, which they did within a few hours. Stock was dispatched in a reasonable time (Ekka public holiday interfered).
I paid with Paypal using a credit card - 3 days after transaction my bank hits me with a $10 overseas...
AVOID GAMEDUDE COMPUTERS!
Bought an entire system. A motherboard sensor was fried . It was assembled by gamedude computers. Took it back and they saw it was fried. Refused to refund or replace. Thought you'd get away with it didnt you? Well congrats here is your 1 star review which will cost you more than had you done things legally: Enjoy!!!

THE WORST after sales services ever
Purchased 2 x 64GB Toshiba usb drives. Went to use them and half the files copied over failed hash checks. Tried it on two different machines with different o\s (Windows 7 & Linux) ...same issue. Took it back to them and they 'tested' them the next day, called and said they worked fine on Windows 10 and new h\w but they said there was an issue with older o\s and h\w ...despite them advertising these drives as being suitable for XP and upwards. They refused to refund the money saying there was a 3rd party patch available to resolve the issue despite them being unable to provide the patch or tell me where on the net to find it! Needless to say I have lodged a consumer affairs complaint and will be warning everyone away from Game Dude!
Wish I'd read the reviews here first...
As mentioned repeatedly below, terrible customer service. You have to chase them or they won't respond and even then it takes them days to reply. On the phone they they talk at you rather than listening and responding, it's just rude.
I bought the incorrect laptop charger, took off the clear piece of tape covering it before realising, and sent it back asap in otherwise perfect condition; honestly there wouldn't have even been time to use it if I could. Now I completely understand if they wanted to charge me a little extra to cover the cost ...of the tape, but instead they're implying it would cost half the amount I paid for the charger?! Absolutely ridiculous. The end result, on top of the sheer amount I had to chase them is appalling. Again as mentioned repeatedly below, save yourself the headache and shop elsewhere.
Questions & Answers
Been emailing Gamedude all week - no response. Had a problem before with my emails not getting through. I've tried a different email account and still no response. What's going on? I have a problem with a motherboard and need help.
Hey, I'm about to buy a gaming PC ( since I'm still a teen i don't know much about the technological side of things ), and I was just wanting to know, when I buy of the website and it is delivered, is the PC built with all parts and things like that
( besides windows and things ), because I don't know how to put a PC together cause I'm a tad on the dumb side!! Also how long would the delivery take?
Hi, I got my computer and went to set it up after I finished plugging in the cables, Everytime I turned the monitor on it said no signal, is there anything I can do?
I had a bit of trouble with mine since it had two Ports for the monitors but switching them around worked okay for me. Other wise maybe plug that monitor into another PC to make.sure the problem is not the cord or something.
I am warning you do not buy a thing from this company. Online, I purchased a brand new pc, when it was delivered it
was faulty, screws all rattling in the box and the screen. Had no service and no video input, was advised to purc hase a new screen by the idiots, thought this odd as the monitor was only 3 years old, tried it on 3 monitors with same errors, even after purchasing a new monitor as advised, so then was told I had to send this pc back at my expense of $68.30. They received the product back within 5 days, 14 days later rang to see what was happening to my computer, said it was lost in the warehouse and they had no data registered under my name on their data system, funny had rang them 13 times at this stage, suddenly they somehow found me on the data system funny that and located the pc, on Friday afternoon, rang Monday and they said it had been running for days and nothing was wrong, how could it have been running in the cardboard box, wrapped in foam and plastic as sent, all on its own, amazing how this firm constructs these miraculous computers, which don't even need a power supply to run them, lost in a warehouse.
