Caution when buying – Be cautious when buying from here. Daughter brought a computer from here a year ago and only found out now that all the components are 6 years old and her computer has died after 1 year after they said it was all the latest technology in the computer. Research before you buy and don't trust a shops word. Show details

DONT BELIEVE THE ONE STAR REVIEWS! – I really don’t believe any of the hate that is going towards these guys. All the one star reviews I have read have falsely manipulated their views on this great reliable store. I’ve been shopping here every so often for the past 6 years and have never had problems. If I have had any problems with parts or accessories it was fully my doing and… Read more
unfortunately all these one star reviews can’t admit to that. Please ignore these reviews as they are all mostly just can’t admit to being wrong. These guys truly care and would be willing to admit if they did do something wrong. Honest and loyal guys. Go into this store with high hopes :)
Purchased Goods – The staff are friendly, kind and helpful where they didnt need to be. I purchased an MX500 crucial 1tb SSD and 500GB NVMe drive. Also a tube of HY810 thermal paste. Cheap and helpful. Show reply
Excellent customernservice – Joshua was patient and very knowledgeable. He helped both my 16 yr old son and I a lot. Completed the build in 48hrs which made a 16 year old birthday boy very happy. Amazing! Show details

I believe this company breaks the acl legislation – Bought a monitor ex demo On the receipt it states: Warranty is limited to exchange or store credit only. My belief is that this statement breaks acl law. Show details
After sale non esistent – Bought a security camera set from them and this stopped working two months after. I contacted the manufacturer and they approved for a replacement straight away, although this had to go through this shop and they held the process. Months and many many emails after including between the manufacturer and them and I still didn't get what was promised. Fraduelent business, do NOT buy from them Show details

I wish I had read the reviews before going there – I went there to have the ram and harddisk upgraded in our laptop. $120 later I now have a laptop with a keyboard not working, no upgrades and them not accepting responsibility. I agreed to buy a new laptop but they still wanted to charge me the $120 for breaking the laptop in the first place. I will never buy anything from that store ever again. Gave wrong advice, sold me the wrong product and charged 15% restocking fee for unopened product – Went to this store, was given wrong advice, sold the wrong product and when I went to return it unopened they offered me less refund than the 15% restocking fee they finally agreed to after raising my voice at them, they still short-changed me 25c because they obviouslyaren't that clever. I have already told 4 people who have shopped there in the past like I have and now like me aren't going to shop there again. Show details

Do Not Buy! Had To Take Him To Court! Abuses Customers! Steals Money – I had to take them to court! We were abused in-store by the owner, [Name Removed]. He also refused to give my PC back that I had brought in for repairs as it was faulty. We asked for it back probably 20+ times and he just refused as he wanted to continue to argue and attempt to belittle me. He snatched things off me, swore at me, pointed his… Read more
fingers at me. He is a grown adult and I was only 19 at the time. I am a young female and the way he spoke to me was so horrible. He is a disgusting person. I recorded the entire encounter where all of this was displayed, which was later shown to the judge.
He decided to keep the PC and locked us out. We went through QCAT first but they can't make any binding decisions or tell the business what to do but this made it possible for me to escalate it to the court.
It took 4 months for us to get to court, and not once over those 4 months did they make any attempt or effort to return the PC or contact me to tell me I could come to get it.
We went through mediation first, in which he offered me barely a quarter of the price. I obviously refused so it escalated to the court in front of the judge.
As he was in clear breach of my consumer rights and was still in possession of the computer that I had paid in full for, I obviously won and received the full amount + the filing fee. I also had clear proof of everything I said was true where he just rambled on with lies and nothing for 20 minutes. The kicker is, even after THE JUDGE had made the decision, [Name Removed] continued to argue with the judge and cut him off. The Judge even had to yell at [Name Removed] because of how disrespectful he was. He even ended up hanging up on him as he just couldn't keep his mouth shut. That just shows how delusional this person is. You will not be able to reason with him at all.
DO NOT LET THIS PERSON STEAL YOUR MONEY! He has no idea what consumer rights there are. Go do your research on the Australian Consumer Law! Take him to court! He can't just flat out deny you repairs or refunds based on "software" or that they can't replicate the fault. Don't let this person do this to anyone else.
He will also probably reply to this review and call me a liar or something along those lines like he has done so many times to these other people who left reviews. If he attempts to defame me or say I am lying, I will take him for defamation. I am not scared of you [Name Removed]. No matter how much you abused, belittled, and attempted to scare me. At the end of the day, THE OFFICIAL QLD COURT decided in my favour. Yet, he still believes he was right in everything he did.
I've uploaded the proof of the court decision and if I could upload the video of his abuse, I would. In the meantime, please feel free to read the transcript of the video that was submitted to the court instead.
"He will also probably reply to this review… Read more (+3 replies)
Avoid - selling old items as new and refusing to return or exchange – I spent over $10k on parts to build a new, high end system. The CPU they sold me was 3 years old. I called them the day I received it. I didn't open it. They refused to accept it for a return. Gave me some rubbish anology about a 1960 Corvette being better than a 2021 Kia. Thats not how computers work. When spending this sort of money, I want the latest technology, not something older than the system its replacing. Show details

Negative reviews were being kind – Salesman was condensing and rude. Sold me items that were not as described. I contacted the store where they tried to sell me more products rather than fix the… Read more
problem. I lodged a complaint with consumer affairs because, to quote consumer affairs, Supply of goods point 2 - 'Goods must be fit for their intended purpose – they should be suitable for any particular purpose the buyer made known to the seller and Supply of goods point 3 - 'The goods must match the description given to the consumer, or the sample shown.' Management's response to Consumer Affairs was that the salesman was suddenly the best person in the world and everything was either the customer's fault or due to COVID. I shopped here many years before and left because of the terrible customer service. I thought things could not be the same- I was correct- they were even worse: I did not think that was possible! As someone who has built many computers over many years I would never recommend this store to anyone. I would have taken this matter further but I live too far away and I am not interested in wasting any more of my time with a shop like this.

Staff are sexist and condescending to women – I had an issue with a product and visited the physical store (staffed only by men) and over the phone (and spoke only to men). Stay away – I haven`t bought anything from these guys for many years now due to their terrible customer service and I won`t bother going into details but I will say that there is heaps of good computer retailers out there with great prices, I know because I`ve spent thousands on computer builds so shop around but don`t include these guys on your shopping list, I also find it perplexing that they are still in business after all these years. Never shopping here again after 16 years – Paid my final visit to Gamedude Computers today after having been a loyal customer since 2004. "equivalent" product. She was told to pay and then handed a pile of box's. Being non technical she didn't realise they swapped the SSD for an inferior and more expensive product (poor brand, different form factor, paid $20 more for 20% less performance).
Naturally tried to return the un opened item the next business day and spoke with [Name Removed]. He argued it was an equivalent product given its an SSD and said it was our fault for not checking before leaving the store and according to terms on the receipt he would have to charge a 15% return fee.
We were not told these terms before hand and were not allowed to check the items prior to payment. Tried to explain this to the "warranty manager" [Name Removed] but he insisted there was nothing he would do and wouldn't let us speak to anyone else. Also tried to explain that my wife was non technical and was relying on the sales staff to sell her an equivalent product to which he told us if you are buying from this store you have to be specific about what you are asking and they can't be mind readers.
Given the item was unopened, in perfect condition, incorrectly sold to us and returned within a business day. I can't see what cost there is for returning it that would excuse this poor customer service. Customer satisfaction is worth more than the $22.50 restocking fee gamedude will profit off thier mistake. The staff member spent more time in his wages arguing with us and has now guaranteed I will shop elsewhere. As a regular pc builder for enterprise and hobbyists I hope your 15% return fee is worth it.
Store policies are great but common sense should prevail and I may even refer this matter to the ACCC.
I am sorry you feel that way, especially since… Read more (+6 replies)
Not honest service, told me that I laid – Bought a PC via the phone, some parts according to the advice given over the phone. The service person told me that I opened the PC case, in spite of clearly obvious seal mark. The other seal… Read more
mark was not done properly and he accused me of opening the box. Charged more then 100 dollars because of it. The choice of parts was very basic. I asked to change the wifi card and was ofered only old fashioned Relatec card.....Bought my other PC from Umarat, match better experience. The shop looks run down, the service person was not available number of times to answer my call. I asked them to email me about the issue, what they did not, they kept calling my mobile, out of reach.....and leave the messages I did not have access to. Slightly more expensive than umart or mwave, way worse choice. Dishones service person. Do not buy from them.
If I could give ZERO stars I would – My grandson made an online purchase late on a Saturday night...within an hour I had cancelled the purchase. These “dudes” refused to accept the cancellation unless I paid $5 - which I agreed to...then they sent it anyway, have had to open a complaint in Ebay that could have been resolved easily if GameDude hadn’t acted like a GameDud. How not to treat customers – 21-2-2020 my pc board failed (I purchased it from this store) several years ago. So I go to springwood to see the big dude behind the counter. with a new case and heat grease, went home installed the system, turn it on and cannot get into the bios, finally after a few hours of trying I call gamedude and was told to pull it out again and bring it in or if I take down the computer it will cost $120 to check out, I return the board and within 1 to 2 minutes the service guy tell me the board has been abused and warranty refused. So I go back next door to see bigdude tell him the story, he says yes the tech already tell him. By now im getting mad I am a computer engineer (1980) and have never abused one in my life (im seventy) we have a dispute he calls the cops, cops come question me I explain what happened he goes into the store comes out with the board hands it to me and tells me the manager wants me off the site and to resole it I will have to go through accc or fair trading. This was a scam the board was faulty but now they have my money and I have a faulty board, and so now the battle begins this will not end will not end well for them. No matter the cost justice will be gained!!!

Terrible customer service over 80 bad reviews and this business still argues the customers are in the wrong! – Simply as I can state it, this business literally has one door for sales and if you have an issue another door (room) for returns. The aim of this department is to decline returns. I can’t believe they are still in business, almost ever negative review is met with a comeback, just goto umart. Never go here! The most disgusting business ever! – The worst after sales experience I've ever had, pay the extra and go somewhere else! Their warranty service is almost non existent. And even then, they simply don't care.

around in. THE so called SERVICE department is EXACTLY as describe by the many people that have had the pleasure to stand there and listen to the inane lectures from the so called 20 year expert(s).The reason I went there in the first place was to see if I could purchase a 2.5" reader for my hard drives on the laptops I have ONE that is a PLUG and PLAY the salesperson said they had such a thing and there is only one left it was a SATA/IDE to USB 2.0 ADAPTOR KIT designed for 2.5", 3.5" IDE AND SATA DRIVER on taking it home I read the instructions tried it on my hard drive which is the older type of HD and nothing happened i tried everything same result so i called a friend i knew who had something similar and he brought it around plugged the adaptor into mains then plugged the HD in worked no problems so i plugged my adaptor into mains went to plug the cord into adaptor hullo no cord in box so went back to the place that i bought it from and told them it was not working and i want a refund i was then orered to go to the SERVICE DEPT i stood in LINE and waited for 20 mins while another customer was being talked out of buying a new $2000 laptop from them sure had a way with customers. When the customer finally gave up and stalked out i wont tell you what i was thinking i was next i told him the problem and would like a refund he said he would test it first as he could find nothing he could find to plug into the adaptor i told him had brought a HD with me and to try that he said no way it was probably faulty (it had just come out of a working laptop) so he went and got his mate who brought out a 3.5" drive to which he said to same person where did he find that old thing in the rubbish bin nice to know he has been in the trade for lot of years it worked and he could read it on the screen i then said try my 2.5" HD he said he wouldn't as i could see his was working that was enough also this had taken another 20mins of my time so i said i wanted a refund as it was not fit for the purpose that i bought it for to which they said no way it was working then things got a little heated so i left thinking i had done my dough. The next day i thought if i am going to keep it i want the power adaptor cord that should have been in the kit to power the HD when using if not i want a refund as the kit is incomplete and useless to me. THAT is when this short loud mouthed person with 20 years in the business started up first he tells me the cord is not in the kit (everything else is but) also i don't know what i am talking about i guess being over 70 leaves me out of it and there will be no refund that's it i said it not plug and play also i had brought the a HD with me when it was checked in the (i have to say it again) SERVICE DEPT yesterday where the so called service tech refused to try it as he said it was probably faulty and i had spent 20 mins to find that out to which he said they could have charged you for their time. THATS when i had had enough i said i want a refund he said there is no way i then said i am going to the Consumer Affairs to which he replied like in the movies GOOD LUCK then he said he would also get the so called service tech to come out here and prove he did not say such a thing that's when THINGS got a little heated so i left as it was a complete WASTE OF TIME so much for consumers and customers rights. To finish i went to the CONSUMER AFFAIRS and you can guess the rest i have been to those places before same results WASTE OF TIME as i have got older i have more time for REVIEWS than i had before and like the hundreds of unhappy reviewers before me i would like to say shove it up ITS going to be interesting to hear what our fearless leader of 20 years experience in the business has to say because a lot of people will be waiting for a laugh YOURS TRULY ??? PS thanks for 20 years of experience tip that you gave me that i should have used a 3.0 USB port as it has more power to drive the HD this is a USB 2.0 Adaptor cheers for that ???
