Over the years we have purchased many items from Garden Express, unfortunately the last couple of years I have noticed their quality and especially their business ethics fall. To own a business you should take pride in what you do and respect your customers, by doing these simple steps your business should grow. I do not feel that Garden Express… Read more
follow these simple steps, but follow a more common step which is to take your money and if there is an issue ignore you. I brought several items the other month, the package was delivered damaged, some contents damaged and some smaller items appeared to have fallen out through the hole in the side of the box. I have cameras at the property and the footage shows that the box had damage and a hole in the side. I contacted Garden Express via email, I know that they received the email as it had a delivery / read receipt attached to it and we received a return copy with conformation that they received the email. I followed up again with another email and rang their phone number. It is now the end of June 2026, I first contacted them back in early May 2026. Six weeks is plenty of time to respond but still I wait, the products are good but the business practice only deserves a 1 star or less.
I recently received an offer of lily of the valley bulbs from Garden Express. Very tempted, as saw a lovely row growing recently under a garden hedge in London... The price ($11.90 for 5 pips) was reasonable - but the product description seemed way out! 30cm wide and 45cm high??? Just unrealistic: they are very small plants! Max 10cm by 15cm. I wanted to tell Garden Express they are exaggerating - but no way of emailing.

Don’t waste your time and money on these people; you’re better off investing elsewhere and getting healthy, live plants. These people are terrible in every way.

Recently bought 3 Grevillea Molongo and 2 died after following the care instructions Garden Express provided. After contacting them about their guarantee, they provided different care instructions and advised that the instructions on the plants apply to established plants and not the plants received. This is extremely misleading for consumers as… Read more
they’re not to know additional care is required compared to what the instructions say on the labels. They’re advising their guarantee don’t apply which is total bad business since it’s their fault they aren’t clear enough.

I ordered 6 roses online and was a little worried because having come from near Monbulk, I knew I was now about 6 hours away in country Vic. I was patient because I know it's not Amazon and we are talking about plants that need to be picked and packed carefully with only a few people that have a nursery/farm to run. I placed order on the 5th of… Read more · 1
November, and they arrived today, the 17th November. They were sent out last week. I am very happy with the way they were packed. They arrived perfectly healthy! I am so grateful for your wonderful service because I couldn't get roses like this in Nhill. Thank you so much!
Bought two clematis vines. 1 x Veronica's Choice and 1 x Montana Rubens. The V.C was a good size. The M.R was so tiny, it wasn't even a vine. It was SPROUT! It was also slightly damaged by dirt that came out of the dislodged circular ring that is supposed to support the plants at their base. Complained to Garden Express and was advised that as it… Read more
is supplied in a 50 mm Grownet pot, it is quite small. Garden Express did not say that the plant would be so tiny that it was just at a seedling stage. There was plenty of room in the surrounding clear plastic contained to contain a larger vine. If they'd showed a picture of what they were actually selling in these microcontainers rather than an established vigorous vine, I would not have bought one.

Perfect! – My plants were posted the same day I ordered; they arrived in record time, looking so fresh and green, beautifully packaged, with their soil still damp - truly amazing for being transported in the height of summer. Renee's customer service is second to none and I've already put in another order, which I know will not be the last - so pleased I found Garden Express! Show reply
Shipped to WA – My order was despatched on 31 Jan and arrived on 7 Feb. All the plants were in excellent condition considering they’d been boxed for a week. I was very impressed with the packaging. Would happily recommend this company. Update: I potted on the Fairy Magnolias - all three doing well with new growth. As soon as the weather cools a bit they will be planted in the garden. All the pig face plants are healthy and will also go into the garden soon. Show reply
Magnolia fairy blush – Order my plant Thursday and received it on the Monday, pot still nice and damp. Few yellow leaves but to be expected after being in a box for 4 days. Hopefully it will be a beautiful tree in years to come. Would recommend with the service I just received. Happy gardening Show reply

BUYER BEWARE - Whilst I did receive a refund from this company I would not purchase from them again. Their warranty does state that photos should be taken of the faulty plants upon arrival but I was unable to do so at my age (I am 80 ). Anyway, read their warranty to make sure you can adhere to it; but my advice is - purchase from a nursery as… Read more
you can see what you are buying. Also one well known hardware/nursery has a 12 month warranty on plants which they do stand by. I must admit I did not think that such poor gauras - butterfly plants (which virtually grow in cement!!) would be sent to me and out of the 20 plants, 12 have died and the rest are just holding on......

Unsatisfactory – Directions were given to leave box on front porch as we have no transport to access the post office. However the box went to the Post Office over a hot weekend and the plants were expiring when a friend picked them up. Thought the plants were very small for the price.

Waiting several weeks for delivery – After waiting weeks for my delivery I wrote asking for an ETA. Was told they expected stock to their store by 14 October. I didn’t see this notification because it was in tiny print at the bottom of the web… Read more
details. Why they can’t put such vital information in normal print at the top of the advertisement where it can be seen easily? They hide it as far away as possible. As I told them, if it was made clear that a lengthy delay was in place, I would not have placed my order. Didn’t even like the tone of the emails by their customer service team. Will never use or recommend again.

Garden express – I took the risk to order online again a potted plant - clematis Florida Taiga . This time is from Garden Express, and I was so pleasantly surprised at the quality of packaging of the products. The plant came intact and in excellent condition. It had a flat foam protection on top of the soil, and it was in a clear firm plastic cage/box to protect… Read more · 1
the stems from damage and excessive evaporation. Previously purchased from other “reputable “ companies ( hydrangea and dwarf purple fountain grass) and it was a disaster - plants came packaged in just a carton flimsy package, almost dead, nothing survived but the grass. I do grow a lot of plants from seeds or by propagation , but there are situations when that is not possible. So now I know where to order my living potted plants. Thank you Garden Express Australia!
Failed to honour intent of product quality assurances – Usually great products - but when ‘lipstick’ roses where delivered with black die back in 2 separate deliveries, excuses were delivered rather than solutions. They said that it was because the roses hadn’t been planted in the time specified- even when roses also delivered at the same time were thriving. Had been a great supporter of Garden Express until this experience…

Garden “Express” – My first purchase at Garden express online. I have ordered some plants 20th March and they dispatched 25th. They didn’t consider Easter long week end? Now my parcel is stuck at somewhere and estimate delivery is 2nd - 5th April. It means the plants in the box for 7- 10 days. I’m afraid if the plants are not good condition… definitely they are not Garden “Express”

Not Express, big thumbs down – Firstly it took 2 weeks to finally tell me that they did not have the stock I ordered. I initiated contact 3 times, they did not bother to advise me along the way. In the end the whole (large) order was cancelled. They are in no way an "express" company and they sell items on their website they don't currently have in stock. Too risky to send… Read more
money up front to then wait weeks to get the money back on their failures.
ETA in response to GE The order was placed on 07/01 and it was not till the confirmation email came through after payment that there was any indication that you were closed till the next day. I was told over the phone on 18/01 that the items I ordered were not in stock and that there was NO ETA on when they would be available. I then opted to cancel the whole order. One of the items I originally tried to order was blocked by the cart so your inventory in the database on that item seems like it was correct. The 21 a items I was able to order via the cart were the ones you did not have in stock when the order was placed but you still allowed them into the cart and to be paid for. The only reason I found this out is after 3 emails to you I was finally called to say you did not have the stock. Therefore you are selling items that are not currently in inventory. That can happen however the really poor part is that you did not inform me immediately, instead it took me contacting GE 3 times to finally get the truth. Do not put this back on me, I placed an order and paid for it in good faith, your company failed in the transaction and failed to provide quality customer support.
