Outstanding Service and Professional – We recently had 2 bedroom Air conditioners repaired by Fujitsu and now perform extremely well. So I would like to say on behalf of my family and myself, we would like to give a very big thank you to everyone at Fujitsu for getting our Air-conditioners going again. The service was outstanding and team’s professionalism is above the rest.  Show details ·  1

Good Air Con – Recommended this to my mum when her LG split system finally gave up after 15 years, so far it has done a pretty good job in cooling and heating the house. Show reply

Exterior unit NOT rodent/animal proof – Our Fujitsu split indoor/outdoor unit is model AOTR24LCC/AOTR24LCL respectively. We've had it for nine years and it has had very little use. This is the second Fujitsu air-conditioner that we have installed and the first one had a similar problem that I would regard as a major design fault. The inherent problem with these outside units is that… Read more

they do not have sufficient protection against rodent, and other animal (in our case, tiger snake [see photo]) entry. As a result these animals can enter the electrical/electronic area of the unit and cause major and expensive damage to the circuitry. In the case of the first Fujitsu it was less expensive to buy a new and equivalent non-Fujitsu air conditioner than repair the existing one. This in itself is most unsatisfactory.

Fujitsu would not cover the cost of repairs to the second unit as they stated that the holes into the circuitry were 'ventilation holes required for operation and component cooling'. Poor design and a lack of foresight; and clearly from other posts we are not the only ones to have this type of problem.

Keeping cool – We got this as our gas heater wasnt heating the whole home it was too small but this seems to get the rest if the home . The air con works great I have very small living area and its actually too cold for me but the heating I don't like because it hits me in the face but that's because of where we had to install it so I can not fault it at all… Read more ·  5

apart from saying eould be great for a bigger living area and I live in Tassie so barely need to use the air con. The remote is a bit hard for me to workout but I'm not real good with these things either. Cant say about maintenance etc yet. Has a bit of noise to it though and have to have television volume turned up.

Great! If you don't need to sleep – The air conditioner creates cold air and the positives stop there. After it was initially installed it produces normal air for the first 3 uses and after that always had a mystery smell. The detail line was checked and technician said it's normal. But I can live with a smell. The Noise! We have but slept with it on our sat in the same from with… Read more

it since it was installed. Fujitsu's own technician (not a registered installer) came out and said the level of noise is normal. This I consider as evidence that Fujitsu makes extremely loud products. Approximately every 2-3minutes there is a loud wooshing for about 30sec followed by a constant low wooshing. Unfortunately we have 3 of these the same model so our entire family can't sleep....

Very high quality product! – The unit copes very well with QLD summers and high demands. I also have a smaller unit in my bedroom, and it too copes exceptionally well. The features and controls are great, particularly timed starts and/or finishes. When the temperature gets below freezing, the units effectively defrost. Show details ·  1

Inadequate warranty – I bought a fujitsu inverter, heat & cool model in August 2015 with a 5 year warranty covering labour and parts. However, when it failed to work in July this year I was told by the Fujitsu service agent that came out that a gecko had got into the outdoor unit and caused a short circuit, hence the pc board had to be replaced with a "coated" one. He… Read more

quoted labour charges of $110, which i believe is unfair as Fujitsu failed to provide a board fit for purpose. An outdoor unit is sure to attract geckos, frogs, insects etc as as such Fujitsu has not provided this protection for this unit. In addition, when i requested Fujitsu to replace the board free of cost, ;as the product is still under warranty, they refused and quote their warranty clause which states failure due to vermin going entering, is not covered.

It seems that Fujitsu has built in this clause just to cover their liability, with no thought for the customer. I chose Fujitsu over others as they are known to be a reputable company.,

i am very disappointed both with Fujitsu and Harvey Norman, Townsville (where i bought this air conditioner) who insist that the warranty will not cover the fault.

In short, the warranty they offer is inadequate, as the outdoor unit should have been protected from vermin entering the unit. Inadequate warranties such as this one, are useless to the customer, especially ones like me, who are on a limited budget and can ill afford to pay the labour costs. These warranties should not be allowed to exist.

Love this aircon – Installed this Fujitsu a few years ago in the childrens bedroom and so impressed with its fast ability to heat or cool the room (and if I leave the door open it warms up entire upstairs. Warranty inadequate – I purchased a Fujitsu air conditioner (wall mounted inverter) in August 2015 which came with a 5 year warranty covering labour and parts. In July 2018 when we tried to switch the air conditioner the lights on the indoor unit were flickering and the air conditioner did not work. The product is still under warranty. When we rang Fujitsu, they put… Read more

us through to their service agent who after investigations found a dead gecko in the outdoor unit, and told us that this had caused a short circuit. He said he would replace the PC board with one that was coated with a substance which would ensure that should any gecko get in there would be no short circuit in the future. The service agent then said Fujitsu would replace the board, however would charge for his labour ($110). I then spoke to the manager of Harvey Norman, Townsville, where I bought the air conditioner and who that the warranty did not cover this fault. From researching this issue I find that if the pc board had been coated in the first place, there would have been no short circuit. Hence, I was sold a piece where the PC board in the outdoor unit was not reliable and had inadequate protection for expected events like frogs, geckos, insects etc entering

I wrote to Fujitsu again to complain about the unfairness of the warranty and requesting that the board be replaced free of labour costs as the fault was more due an inadequate protection offered by Fujitsu to keep the outdoor unit in good working condition. However, they have refused and it seems that the warranty clause quoted by Fujitsu, has been drawn up for their own protection, which makes the warranty useless and unfair for the customer. Unreasonable warranties such as this one should not be in existence.

I feel very disappointed and let down by both Fujitsu, whom I favoured over other companies due to their normally good reputation, as also by Harvey Norman where I have bought all my white goods, computers and software.

Great for an Aussie Summer – We got this air conditioner to replace an old clunker. It's heaps better. It's pumps out the cold air without being too noisy, the air flow can be directed both horizontally and vertically, and it seems quite efficient. We haven't noticed much of an increase in our power bills despite using it a lot.  Show details

Good cooling, quiet – Pretty basic aircon. I got 2.5 and 3.5kw systems. Surprised how quiet it is. Buying from Harvey Norman was a terrible experience, so buy elseware and make sure they have stock. The wifi model was hard to setup and lacks integration with automation systems. Overall though for the price it’s a pretty good choice.  Show details

Ok – The Unit is not bad. It runs reliably . But it is a little noisy for a Bedroom. Also the minimum temp you can set it too is 18 degress which I find a little to warm for a bed room. Something like 16 degrees would be better. Also front cover that you need to fold up to clean filters has weak hinge points, one of which has broken on my unit.  Show details

Air con OK but remote control lacking – A note for anyone considering Fujitsu split systems. Be very wary of their basic clunky chunky remote controls. Many other brands have far better remotes. Very good for value especially with the cashback offer – Very happy with the cooling and heating. The unit was not as quiet as I thought during the night when I have it on quiet mode compared to the Panasonic I had in my previous place. Installation didn't have any problems. Easy to use. I did find it a bit weird however when it is running because the front flap panel opens up from the top down and I thought it was broken but it is normal.  Show details

Australia's Dumbest Air – Thing works. heats in winter cools in summer using a dumb remote control. there are no smarts to this thing. Great airconditioner, works a treat in our bedrooms – Def happy with this aircon, have two installed in the bedrooms upstairs and they work well. Installation was easy, although I obviously needed a electrician to install it and they fitted it perfectly where I wanted it to be installed. Easy to use, easy to operate and doesn't take long for it to cool our bedrooms down in Summer. Quite unit, and you can set it on auto to adjust to your comfort level. Outdoor unit is quite also.  Show details

Good product with strong fan – This review is for the Fujitsu Spilt System Air Conditioner for indoor unit model ASTG30LF. The outdoor model is 8 KW cooling and 9 KW heating. I like this product but I have to say that the main reason for buying this is that I need it for strong heat during the winter in a large living room area or open floor plan. This unit operates with an… Read more

Inverter and the heating is a 'pump & heat' action.

The fan can also operate on Auto setting for economy but this reduces the fan speed to Low. There is also Quiet fan setting and this particular setting is a super quiet fan speed and very Low. I keep in mind that a very High fan speed setting of the Indoor unit is not quiet. The Outdoor unit is beside the window and is quiet. I hear a click sound now and then as the unit adjusts it self but that small click sound is not loud and not a problem to myself. I wanted to be sure that the outdoor unit is also not going to disturb my next door neighbour with noise - So no problems there.

I had this air conditioner installed several days ago by a suggested qualified installer by Fujitsu. So yesterday I tested the Heat setting at 25ºC with the fan setting on High. And wow, this does push out heat with a powerful fan. The heat is nearly hot and it does produce the heat. So I've also tried the cooling setting with the fan set on High and it is also powerful. It is important to note that High fan speed is not available on all Heat or Cool settings of this unit but its sufficient for my needs.

• The cooling and heating of most air conditioners is relative to the outside temperatures. Most Air Conditioning units such as split systems will operate on their own cycles in weather conditions as not to overheat the unit or so it operates effectively. Or if it is very cold outside, the unit will take a while to reach the desired indoor temperature setting.

So from my experience with this, do NOT immediately set the Heat temperature setting to the highest setting or 30ºC because it will take a long time to reach this heat and this will also effect the fan speed to Low. (the unit will operate automatically so it operates effectively). So initially when I switch on the indoor unit I selected the heat setting at 25ºC as the unit begins to operate. Doing it this way it took about 5 minutes for it to heat and to blow out nearly hot air and this is good or better. It appears that most air conditioners with split systems do take about 5 minutes to reach the desired indoor temperature anyway.

The outdoor unit has its special defrost cycle built for operation in cold climates where there is frost. The operating manual reads that the defrost cycle will intermittently stop for 15 minutes and heat up the Outdoor unit if it is collecting frost and getting too cold. This is important to me so the unit operates effectively as I live in a cold country town.

The other function I like about this model is that the indoor unit has a good filter with an option of a ceramic type for deodorising and filtering the fine dust and pollens. So I do have allergies and I hope this unit catches and reduces the dust in the room. So I keep in mind that any fan that blows air will also circulate dust around the room.

Other things for choosing this model is the 5 Year Warranty Fujitsu was offering at the time but I also purchased another 2 years of Warranty on top of that at the point of sale.

• The suggested installer for Fujitsu will need to provide a 'Certificate of Compliance' for Electrics and Refrigeration so the Warranty is valid. It's important that you always have and keep these Certificates with any brand you're installing for the manufacturer to see as your proof.

Most air conditioners have plastic cover for their indoor units but I particularly like this one because the colour of the plastic is a soft white gloss (instead of the horrible grey/beige with the same colour as the old computer monitors, if you know what I mean).

You can also have the option of also having a Remote Control unit which is installed and hardwired into the wall and I like this too at an extra cost (because we sometimes drop the remote with batteries on the floor). And the Operating Manual reads that I can also use the battery remote control simultaneously.

When it came to choosing a brand name I did my research online and asked air conditioner installers of the best brands they recommend. Fujitsu is one of the two brands they suggested. It's one of the high-end air conditioner brands/manufacturers.

So no complaints so far.

This model Air Con does what its meant to do. Appears to be good and robust and I got what I paid for.
