Hi there, for specific technical assistance such as fuel line routing or other detailed information regarding your Genforce GT-4000 Inverter Generator (2.5KVA), we suggest contacting our support team directly so we can assist you more accurately. You may reach us via the following link::https://www.edisons.com.au/contact/ However, please note that the unit in question has been obsolete for quite some time and is no longer in production. As a result, we no longer have any technical drawings or schematics available. Additionally, the original production facility is no longer in operation, so we are unable to obtain these documents from the manufacturer.
I have a Genforce GT 6000, won't start, oil sensor is fine, the problem has been narrowed down to the solenoid on the carburettor, I have minimal voltage from the electronic board, I have disconnected the plug and spliced a 9 volt battery in and the generator starts and runs fine, anybody experienced this and is there a solution.
Hi Mike, We appreciate your initiative in narrowing down the issue to the solenoid on the carburetor. It's great that you were able to get the generator running using a 9-volt battery, which further solidifies the possibility of a faulty solenoid. However, for safety reasons, we wouldn't recommend modifying the original wiring and using a 9-volt battery as a long-term solution.
We recommend you refer to the Genforce GT 6000 user manual for specific troubleshooting steps related to the solenoid or the electronic board. You can access the manual here: external link
If the manual doesn't provide a solution or you're uncomfortable replacing the solenoid yourself, we recommend contacting a qualified generator repair technician to diagnose and fix the issue.
Kind regards, Jay
Hi the solenoid is fine, otherwise the generator wouldn't start, there is no chance of the 9 volt battery interfering with the electronics of the unit as the cable that should supply the solenoid has been cut, and have attached the battery to the solenoid. The problem is no voltage supply from the electronics.
Hi Mike, Please reach out to us via email at external link so our team can thoroughly assess the issue and assist you accordingly. Regards, Jay
Hi I have a gt4000 2.5kva invertor . When I start it it revs extremely high and the overload light is on . Do not have anything plugged into it. What could be the problem please . Brian Mitchell
Hi Brian, The first and most obvious thing would be to check that the choke lever has not been left in the cold position. - Check that the breather on the fuel cap is in the ON position - Check the spark arrestor on the exhaust, this is usually a mesh material and can get clogged up with soot and dust. You can remove this filter and try starting it again. If it works as normal then the filter will need a clean before you re-insert it. - Not enough oil - Ensure the oil is full. If there is no dipstick on your model then the oil should be filled until it is about to come out of the oil filler hole (while the generator is level in the normal upright operating position) - There is a blockage in the fuel line - pop the rubber fuel line off the carby (or injector in the case of diesel) to see if fuel flows out freely. - Oil sensor problem (some models only) - try disconnecting the wire leading to the oil sensor and restarting. This check is only for those familiar with engines.
If theses suggestions don't work, feel free to reach us at support@edisons.com.au

Thankyou Jay it was the spark arrestor such a simple fix for a frustrating problem thankyou again
We purchased our gt-4000 about 18 months ago but other than checking to see if it starts, have only now tried to load it to 2400watts. Unfortunately I found that it ran a 1200 watt heater ok, but when trying to run the heater to 2000watts, the motor could not supply the power, so the voltage dipped to 218v after which the the output turned off on overload and left the motor idling. Had to restart the motor to reset. Why will it not supply a 2400watt resistive load?

where do i get parts for genforce gt-6000 inverter generator
Try this email, they are based in Sydney. They are the distributor. sales@edisons.com.au
specifically for the engine, try aliexperss or madeinchina.com. the engines can and do use parts from common series. For example, the conrod to fit my GT-4000 (the oil slinger fell off and caused the rod to seize) comes from a Honda GX-100 series.
Hi again, We have a range of parts available to suit our products. Should you wish to purchase a part simply follow the steps outlined below: 1. Go to this link - external link 2. On our Parts page, find your product and look for the parts that you require 3. Go through the checkout process

gt 4000 maybe 6 + years old engine runs but no power produced. why?
gt 4000. a few years old. engine runs but no power is produced..i.e. it will not run anything whats with that?
would this generator run an air con in a campervan
Hi I own a gt4000 it starts and runs and now it's not producing power I checked engine oil its full fuel is half a tank what do u think it is im thinking fuses
Sorry mate can't help I sent mine back a while ago as it would not do what I needed it too.
Started mine for the first time, plugged a small pressure washer into it (1.2kw) and it went straight into overload and cut out. Thought I might have to earth it, did that and same problem. Am I doing something wrong???
no you are doing nothing wrong. to start a 1.3 kw pressure washer you will need to multiply 1.2 by at least 5 times and really 7 for easy starting. I have the 3.5 max kva models and also a 1.2 kw gerni it don't even look like turning it ove just goes start to over load. unless your pressure washer has soft start and I have never seen one you will need at lest a 6 kva geni. also 1 kva and one kilo watt are not the same one kva equals .8 of a kw.
so a 6kva genset is weaker then a 6 kw model. something many people try to hide and swear it all the same , but the fact remans one kva equals .8 of a kw
i don't know of any pressure washer tiny enough for a 2.5 genset to start so really give up it isn't going to work sorry.
can i buy spare parts for this generater
