Got this model 2nd hand with a food trailer, 2 years old, 300hrs . Continually random trips when heating a 10amp, 2400w coffee machine. Previous owner used a 20amp 3000w machine and had same issue. Total usage never goes over 60% capacity. There's no advice from Gentrax or Outbax where i can take it to be checked and serviced. Any ideas? Sydney NSW 2151

Hi grh0971, may we know what your coffee machine's starting wattage draw is? Most coffee machines require between 3x-5x of their rated draw during the start-up phase thus it is important to know this piece of information when buying generators in general. If you can check with the previous owner the gennie's order number, we can communicate with Outbax and offer you some form of assistance. Outbax is located in Sydney too.

Im finding this all very difficult to be honest, Outbax support line has been less than helpful. Outbax fb was a little more helpful but i am yet to get an answer. I just want to take my generator somewhere to be checked and maybe serviced in Sydney. I would have thought either Gentrax or supplier Outbax could give me a simple answer of where to take their product. The generator is not tripping on startup, its tripping on occasion when reheating the coffee machine and as mentioned it has never gone over 60% usage so its not from a spike in usage. Ive also used fridges and water heaters on the same circuit whilst the machine is heating and it hasnt tripped. I just need it checked physically by someone who is qualified so i can confidently use the generator. Ive been told there is a technician at Outbax in Silverwater NSW, Can't i just organise an out of warranty service with Outbax?

Definitely, you can get an out-of-warranty service with Outbax for the gen-set you have. You may contact them directly via their phone number 02 888 10 333 or email at support@outbax.com.au or website, outbax.com.au

Sorry Belinda but already been down that path and called and the best they have done so far is send me a link to a "find a tradie" website. I've tried the email address, chat, phone with outbax to no avail. You mentioned you can deal directly with Outbax, can you please get me some direct contact to someone who can raise a work order and arrange for me to take it to Silverwater?

The contact details provided earlier are the ones we use to communicate with the seller.

Then unfortunately you cannot help any more than the end user who can look at the outbax website themselves. Disappointing response from the manufacturer/supplier from my perspective and definitely does not entice me to ever purchase any other gentrax products in the future

1 month later and still no resolution, numerous responses of offering to help but no follow through from Gentrax or Outbax where it was purchased, even after chasing down the original receipt from a third party. Meanwhile we lose trade due to the generator continually tripping randomly without the load changing. Its only 15 months old! Is it really that difficult to arrange out of warranty service and support?
