Honestly - George’s is becoming my first go to store now. Clearly marked items in or out of stock, competitive prices, and they will ship the next day. Even the official supplier of some of these products won’t ship the next day after paying for express overnight options. Show details

would take 2 days to go through with the refund and they later said it would take from 5 to 7 days. It's been 10 days and although I sent them 3 emails and called several times, I didn't get one reply. It is the most distressing situation. I'll be in Sydney next week and I will go to the store personally to check if they are real, because it looks like a scam.

False advertising, holding on to your money and rude staff – Paid $1600 for a second hand sony 24-70 f2.8. Had to chase them after a week of not hearing from them. After a long wait on the phone I was told that they had no stock. The item is still advertised online. After several calls I was told that my refund will take another week. False advertising, holding on to buyers' money and rude staff. Will never buy anything from them again.

expensive item if they won't give me a small discount? You just lost a large sale. Sorry but I am not sorry if all the retail like George collapse dues to them being arrogant. I will never support this store again. Reading their reviews this is not a good place to buy, buy from online stores instead cut these middle man retails out of business. Don't forget as a customer, I am the one holding the money not you. I can buy the same item from elsewhere.

They didn't call back so I called them today and was told that the item is not in stock and won't be available until at least January 5th 2026.There was no indication when I placed my order that this item was out of stock.Whilst I should be too old to worry about lack of a Christmas present it is still a bit disappointing.

Do not be fooled by the cheap prices on the Georges Cameras website. You are charged a “handling fee” on top of shipping for online orders, which is not disclosed until payment, often cancelling out the savings you think you have made on your purchase. take George’s several weeks to order them from the supplier before they can be shipped to you, if not longer.

Items that are actually in stock still take a week to even be dispatched by Georges, they claim shipping times take 3-7 days but in reality it will be at least two full weeks before you receive your order (if you are lucky).

Customer service is extremely slow to respond to support inquiries, if you then reply to their response you will not get another response and you will have to submit a new inquiry to continue the conversation about what is happening with your order.

Customer service staff will also blatantly lie to you about the status of your order and when it will be shipped. In response to my first inquiry, I was told my items were in stock and would be shipped the next day, they weren’t in stock, they weren’t shipped, it took another three days and another inquiry before I was told the truth.

To make things worse, if you inquire about the delay in the dispatch and shipping of your order, and customer service finally admit they do not have the items that you ordered in stock, customer service staff will then try to make you switch from the “in stock” item you have ordered that is not actually in stock, to a different, more expensive item and have you pay the difference.

If you challenge staff on why an item that was shown as in stock on their website, then later confirmed in writing as in stock by customer service, is not actually in stock, they will just brush it off and say it was a “stock error” and deny any responsibility.

By the time you place your order, inquire with customer service about its delay, wait for them to respond, go back and forth with them on the issue until they finally admit the truth, obtain a refund (which takes up to 10 days), then order the items you needed from another business, you are going to be waiting weeks if not months before you actually receive the items that you set out to purchase.

If like me, you bought the items because you needed them for an upcoming trip, you are completely screwed.

Essentially, Georges undertakes deceptive and unethical business practices in order to obtain a financial advantage over their competitors, (much the same as Digidirect) and they should be avoided at all costs.

I’ll never purchase another item from Georges Cameras and I recommend you spend your money elsewhere, at a reputable retailer.

***EDIT***

After posting this review I was contacted by [Name Removed], the head of sales at Georges Cameras, who attempted to bribe me into removing my review with a store credit.

Take a quick look at the genuine reviews on the Trustpilot or Product Review websites, this is not an isolated incident, it is a frequent occurrence.

It is undoubtedly clear that Georges is deliberately lying about stock on their website and practicing “drop shipping”. I am lodging a complaint with the ACCC as a result of this incident

I have had a technical issue with a product and contacted Georges for some advice on the issue. I can only say that their assistance was of immense help. The staff were responsive, attentive and of great assistance. I have bought products from them previously and have not had an issue with that purchase. They know their stuff and are very very helpful.

Buyer beware. Terrible experience - along similar lines as other reviews (wish I had looked here prior). Bought items online - no mention of backorder or waiting on stock arrival online or with the invoice emailed after the transaction. When standard delivery time passed I reached out then to be advised that they were waiting on stock. Turned into long drawn out process. Customer service completely incompetent. Took ages to refund my money.

my right in Australia, they replied saying they would charge me a 10% fee for cancelling an order they didn't have and could not fulfil, obviously I said absolutely not and I have every right to expect a full refund, not only did they ignore me but today they sent 1 of they items just to be smart.

receiving any shipping confirmation or update I just receive an email that my ordered is cancelled but no reason why. I checked back online at the item was still listed as in stock so I tried to call them via phone, but could never get through to anyone.

I'm guessing the other reviews here are what happened to me, they are simply misleading customers falsely claiming items are in stock but in reality aren't.

I wouldn't order from them again. Their website looks pretty and is ok to navigate, but they seem to be the only positives.

An ongoing waiting game – I ordered a monitor for my business on December 2nd 2024 with the assurance there would be a delay of no more than three weeks. It's January 23rd 2025 and I've been told stock won't be available until the end of February. Reading through reviews I can see I'm not the only person that has been misled by this company.

I had no choice but to buy it as it was needed to be shipped ASAP. after a day I brought this up to the former salesman and said they will look into it. So for buyers of camera items in Georges Cameras beware of this salesman by the name of Caleb. take screenshots of the item prices as it may change. In the email that they sent for review, i clicked on the review to bring this up but when I clicked the link for review it says "page not found". I think this might have been orchestrated. With my insistence as i have all the evidence I was able to have the $65.78 reimbursed.
