He explained the difference with the speed of the one I purchased in the U.S. vs. what he had to sell me and he cleaned my camera. As a heavy traveler with a travel blog, my camera gets a lot of use. This is the reason why the retail industry is not doing well – One month ago, I bought a DJI Osmo Mobile 3 Gimbal online from George's Cameras and chose to pick it up in-store. The website did not say it was on backorder or out of stock, and I did not receive an email informing me of this. support team (spoke with Martin and Ryan). They told me that I need to wait three weeks to receive my order because they don't have stock at the moment. I double-checked with them to ensure they were certain that they would be receiving stock for my order and they confirmed with me, that they would be receiving the stock in the last week of November.
I continued to check-in with their online support team multiple times during the next three weeks, and each time they assured me that my order was on its way. After the fourth week (first week of December), I finally received an email confirmation that my order was ready to be picked up. The following day, I went in-store to pick up my order.
When I asked to pick up my order, the store manager (Adam) told me that my ordered item is discontinued. And that they only received stock for the 'Combo' kit for the DJI Osmo Mobile 3. I don't need the additional tripod/case and as such have no desire to pay additional money for this kit. But the store manager immediately tried to upsell me to this kit and informed me that I needed to pay an additional $60 to buy this combo kit.
Their error is not my fault. I should not have to pay any extra money to acquire my ordered item. But instead, the store manager refused to discount the combo kit and tried to sell me a lesser quality brand. They did not go out of their way to help me, only told me that "there is nothing that they could do" after making me wait four weeks for a discontinued product and wasting my time. Making sure that their website is correct and accurate is not my responsibility. Neither is making sure that their support team is well informed with adequate product stock information. But I am the one that has to suffer because of it.
I decided to ask for a refund and told them that I would buy it elsewhere. The store manager mockingly told me I would not be able to find it anywhere at that price, that they had accidentally sold it at lower than their cost price and that I was able to get that price at George's Cameras because I "clicked too fast". But I was able to find the DJI Osmo Mobile 3 without the combo kit at the same price from Camera House and purchase it from them immediately and with zero hassles.
Horror stories like these are why the retail industry is not doing well. I fully understand why people are opting to shop online instead of dealing with issues like these. With poor management and even worse customer service, what is the point of buying from a store? Very disappointed. Will not be returning to George's Cameras again.

Each time we go in there the level of service gets worse. While they used to be the best camera store in Sydney, now there are others that are far better, and we won't be spending a dollar in Georges ever again.
