- Frequent drop-offs and packet loss - Advertised speeds were nothing close to reality. When I notified them of the dropouts, they said there was an issue with the electrical lines in the building and said I had to organise an electrician and sort it out myself. Not worth the hassle. Don't bother with these guys. Bad service and worse customer service. Limited upside and huge downside if you have no issues with your current ISP. Show details

I rang their service on Monday morning and was assured that my connection could be completed either Tuesday or Wednesday, as I had just left my internet provider. I was told someone would contact me within that time frame, no one did. Instead, I have had to call them twice. In my most recent call, I was informed there is in fact a delay of up to… Read more

two weeks for connection to my building due to an upgrade caused by demand. This is completely unacceptable and should have been made clear during my initial enquiry. Their failure to communicate this upfront has left me without service and without any clear resolution. I could have used another service and been connected in the same timeframe.

I was told once again that “someone will call me back,” no one called. This is a poor first impression, and their communication to date has been substandard. I know it is only 3 days but, they should have been upfront. They are a communications company, they need to learn to communicate!

I'm getting constant outages. I thought Telstra was unreliable hence switched to GIGACOM as promoted in our building as being faster and more reliable. But this is not my experience. I work from home hence very important. "Connected without internet". On every device.. Not happy. Show details

Follow-up  · Outages are now less frequent, but still there. Usually around 5pm - 6pm. Mornings have now improved. As I work from home, uptime is critical; as is speed.

Gigacom only asks for reviews when you give them 7 or more stars in their feedback link – Warning: Review requests from Gigacom are made only when you rate them 7 or above in their email link. So ratings might be biased due to not asking for reviews from unhappy customers. That said, my experience has been good, and from NBN supplied via TPG often being down around 100kB/sec I'm now getting a flat and regular 4,000kB/s. But when I was… Read more

first connected it was 24,000kB/s down and 6,000kB/s up. So down to 1/6th of the original and promised speed.

Unreliable – I just switched to Gigacomm from my nbn provider as they offer cheaper and faster speed. They basically set up booth in our apartment lobby to offer their service. Now, just a second week after switching, already have issue with outage since last night and still ongoing till the next day. The Customer Service sound nice handling complaint, however… Read more

what I need is reliable internet service. Look like Gigacomm is not ready yet. Might need to switch back to nbn if this issue gonna be ongoing.

Good speed, decent price, CS needs reviewing – Good speeds for now but as more users join the same infra in the complex, that could decrease, as is the case with these kinds of products. Decent price for speed offered ($80/m for 200/40). Out of hours customer service needs a review, voice mailbox system and lack of updates thereafter doesn't give customers much confidence that the issue is being looked into. Show details

Good internet, customer experience is bad – The good: cheaper, faster and more reliable than NBN. Our NBN cost more for about a third of the speed and it dropped out constantly/daily. GigaComm has occasional dropouts as well, but most of the time we get a solid 200mbps at the router - exactly what we paid for. The bad: unfortunately, everything else is bad. Customer service is minimal.… Read more

There's no real documentation or knowledge base, no status page, and support is essentially just email and they can be slow to reply (and they can't fix anything anyway). Outages sometimes get a text message, mostly they do not. Reporting an outage on their website will never get a response.

They're very keen for you to use Plume pods, but the Plumes have very poor range; setup relies on a limited mobile app; and the units are physically awkward and hog power points. BYO router instead if you can; if not expect to need 2+ Plumes (even a small apartment needs 2).

A big problem is that GigaComm require you to be signed up for Ezidebit autopayments - read the Ezidebit reviews before you sign up to GigaComm (hint - you do NOT want to use Ezidebit).

Basically GigaComm's internet access is good, but everything else is really bad and they are not trying to improve it. Only use them if your NBN is intolerable.

Suddenly available in my building – I own an apartment in the inner north in Melbourne. The owners corps must have given the go ahead for this company to install its tech in our building. The local NBN service was absolute trash. So slow and no plan to upgrade it. 5g was also not available in our area. I honestly thought this was a scam of some kind lol. But after some research I… Read more

saw it Gigacomm was a legit company so went ahead with the install.

SO SO SO GOOD! Ok well, the week prior to the install was odd as the communication wasn't amazing and I had to call them a few times to figure out what was happening. I applied and set up my direct debit and then...nothing. No install date. No clear guide as to what to expect re next steps. Though a quick call to them sorted it out.

Install happened a week later. Technician came around and made it all work nicely. He recommended we ditch our old TPG modem as they're not good if we wanted to upgrade to GB speed later. But it's OK for the 200 speed we had installed.

So it's all installed now and it's been the best interned I've ever had. So stable. So fast. Wow. I always get max speed. Steam downloads are hilariously fast. Gaming is smooth AF. Highly recommend this company if it is available in your building or your building is looking to install an alternative to NBN.

The Internet provider is so good that I need to post my review under three different review websites ! – TLDR; Way better download/upload speed (Download 200mbps and upload 50mbps at a friendlier price than my previous 90mbps NBN plan), way better speed stability (200mbps is what I really got at all times to all of my newer devices and PING does matter to me !), better services (both customer and internet services), almost no down time (except for… Read more

maintenance during ungodly hours where I'll be sleeping), and easy installation procedure with a very understanding home installer from GigaComm. The best pricing for me, counting the speed that you got even after counting in the extra monthly payment for their PLUME device that makes sure your devices get the best connection all the time.

To begin with, my NBN plan was supposedly a 90mbps download speed and 20mbps upload speed package but in reality I really never got that high during office hours and let alone in the evening during peak hour.

Then came Gigacomm to our building, which is a non NBN and using FTTB (Fibre to the Building) technology. I could not be happier hearing that my Owners Corp finally worked together with GigaComm to get FTTB done with GigaComm. Simply way better than my old NBN, and most importantly, a much more stable speed any time of the day !

Installation and connecting GigaComm to my unit was simple, smooth progress, and swiftly done, even after counting in the time needed to troubleshoot and to ensure that we really got 200mbps to all of our newer devices. Communication with GigaComm was easy and they are very understanding of our complex circumstances and conditions to plan and get the installation on time and work as intended.

200mbps is what I get at all time with very low PING for my gaming purposes. A stable 50mbps upload speed and stable connection are also very reassuring for 3 people in my apartment unit during work from home, especially for me because my workplace heavily relies on connection to the server and all of the work constantly uploaded to the server to be processed and thus 50mbps upload speed really helped. I also upload videos online as part of my side hustle, and it has become so much faster now.

I am using their PLUME device and pay an extra monthly payment for it but it is worth the money because unlike your usual router, PLUME helps me get the best connection for my devices by juggling between 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz depending on what I use the device for. Less hassle for me, not to change the connection manually.

Hope this review could help more people in deciding what internet service provider that they will use according to their needs. Cheers.

Gigacomm has been a life changer – Gigacomm has been a life saver. Was originally connected to NBN with FTTB on a 100/50 plan but the internet was freezing or not displaying pages. Good service with great speeds – Gigacomm has been a saviour at my apartment complex. Prior to them providing service, I was stuck on FTTN NBN at a max speed of 50/20, which was a massive downgrade for me. I consistently get close to 1000 down now, even during peak hours. I've had very few service outages too. My only complaint was that the pricing was high compared to NBN, but they've adjusted that as well now! Show details

No support beyond the basement – For an FTTB installation the support staff seem to be incapable of supporting past the basement infrastructure. connection we contacted support only to be told that we had a BYO router and that we should contact the manufacturer. The modem and router (tp-link) were supplied and installed by Gigacomm. I contacted tp-link anyway and they advised that the router was an ISP specific model. Gigacomm support is only available week days and office hours which is poor but their inability to support equipment they have supplied and installed is a major concern.

Unreliable network – Avoid this network at all costs. I switched to it nine months ago, attracted by their promotional offer of a $79 internet package for $59 for the first six months. Initially, the service was excellent, but over the past two months, the network has become increasingly unreliable, especially during peak hours. It frequently drops out for 15-20… Read more

minutes at a time, making it highly unreliable, particularly at night.

Adding to the frustration is their 30-day notice policy for cancellation, which makes it unnecessarily complicated to seek any meaningful support or consider switching to another provider. I would strongly recommend exploring other, more dependable options.

Approach with Extreme Caution – Despite living within 20km from Melbourne's CBD, I've encountered a frustratingly low level of customer service from this NBN provider. Their own support team candidly admitted the absence of dedicated technical support. inquiries.

Attempts to reach out via phone have been equally frustrating. Calls frequently go unanswered (8 out of 10 calls are unanswered — NO JOKE) or are routed to representatives who admit to being incapable of troubleshooting. This lack of technical expertise is compounded by the prolonged wait times for email responses, which can take over a week for even the most straightforward inquiries.

The low price point, while initially appealing, is ultimately overshadowed by the severe shortcomings in customer service.

Prospective customers: approach with extreme caution.

Free install & equipment. Good service, no issues when wfh or streaming. Customer service has been easy to get in contact with & helpful. Negative - never receive comms about planned maintenance, only find out if you call because network is down. Did provide that feedback the first time but haven't seen the approach change.

Overall, happy I made the switch from tpg.

Fastest and cheapest around! – A smooth process to install and get up and running. I was the main contact for the install process on our strata block. Now we have the fastest internet connection available and cheaper than the NBN! No drop outs and seems very reliable. Was a small slow down issue at the start, that was promptly resolved over a phone call. Solid 200 mbps down and 50 mbps up with only 2 ms ping!!! Slightly slower over wifi as expected. Show details
