Everyone at GJ was fantastic! Daniel and Evelyn who were always available for us and continually and helped when we had questions and requests. Their knowledge and building understanding are fantastic and customer service and care is great! Even though we now have our keys, I hope GJ team continues to demonstrate the same dedication and attention to build that showed at the very start. supported by Evelyn and Stephanie, who assisted us to chose and tweak a design that met our brief and budget. When we had any questions, Evelyn and Stephanie would reply within hours - amazing customer service!!!! Evelyn assisted us when it came to design choices and the inclusions were amazing. They were happy to source anything beyond their usual selections as an upgrade. Evelyn was so patient with us and we didn’t feel rushed. The team helped us move through the pre-construction process so quickly and we were the 2nd in our estate to commence and complete construction. Once construction began, we were very happy with the speed in which the house was built, along with the amazing communication along the way. We received fortnightly email updates, at a minimum, and any questions we had were answered very quickly by the site supervisor. The house was built within the time frame given, levelling block to handover as just under 7 months, which includes the Christmas shutdown. We are very happy with the quality of the workmanship. We now have been in our home for just over 12 months, and I waited to do this review incase things popped up, but we are still so incredibly happy we chose GJ Gardner Campbelltown. We love our home but if we chose to build again, we would choose GJG.
I have had great experience with this Builder. They are building a two storey Custom built home for me and i could have not asked for a better team than the G J Gardner Campbelltown Team. (all Council’s fault), Evelyn and her fantastic team kept us constantly updated and helped us fight for the result we wanted.
The build time was incredibly quick- we started in late July 2022, and could have been in in December- but that was pretty poor timing for us with a baby due that month, so they were also flexible with holding off into the new year. We were incredibly grateful to them for that.
We have only had a couple of minor issues post-construction, but everything was addressed quickly and without us having to ask.
While we did get a trade price variation that added up to about 7% of our total build price, we appreciated Evelyn’s efforts to keep it as low as possible, negotiate with suppliers and pass on the increase without any margin. It’s a tough time for the industry, and we found Evelyn’s approach to be very fair and transparent.
But more than anything, the most impressive thing about the experience of working with the GJ Gardner Campbelltown team was the quality of the communications. We received weekly updates, our site supervisor was always easy to get on the phone, and if anyone said they were going to do something, it was done. If I ever called Evelyn and she wasn’t available, she’s send me a message to let me know when she’d call. It was a level of client service that I was not expecting, and was very happy with. We had our first meeting with them in November 2021 to design our home and start the tender process, We had our keys and were moved in by the end of November 2022. Each stage of the process was completed very efficiently with lots of help assistance along the way. The site supervisor was very efficient with regards to having all the trades lined up with minimal down time along the way. The quality of the build was very high with no major defects or issues during the build, and when something was pointed out, it was no issue having it rectified. We went over our final budget by approx $50k (it was all self imposed), however them team at GJ Gardner did everything possible to reign in the budget and was always helpful in being conscious of the build budget. We are very happy with our decision to work with GJ Gardner Campbelltown to build our dream home, if we ever decide to build again we will definitely be building with them again. Just another for profit volume builder – I would not recommend GJ Gardner Campbelltown to any family member or friend. You will only have a smooth experience with them so long as you're happy to accept subpar workmanship. any responsibility. One of many examples of this is when a crooked wall was put up which was so out of alignment that the attached sliding door couldn't close because it would butt against the face of the misaligned wall and not clear it to properly close and when raised as an issue they were happy to claim that the wall was straight and there was nothing wrong with it. This along with dozens upon dozens of other defects were rectified, however it was always a tedious process that a homeowner shouldn't have to continually push just to have a house built to a satisfactory standard. As stated and to further reiterate, this is one of many examples I could provide where GJ Campbelltown were happy to take advantage of a homebuilders limited knowledge of construction to try and get away with poor work.
Further to this, upon moving into the house 7 waterleaks were identified in the first year of ownership. The main toilet had one leak and the second two, the bathtub had a leak along with a internal tap, the rainwater tank wasn't connected properly and was leaking throughout the backyard and after high waterbills a further hidden outdoor leak was also detected. It is evident GJ Campbelltown have issues with their plumbing which along with their countless other defects including but not limited to painting being incredibly poor, holes in the wall, scratched ceasarstone, burnt bricks, scratched windows, heavily damaged kitchen cabinets, damaged mirrors and internal doors not screwed in etc... etc... etc... makes you question what else is wrong with the house that you don't know about that you'll need to foot a bill for in years to come.
Unfortunately, at the time I didn't take photos of some defects however I have attached a few to support what's been said in this review.

the height of Covid, Record Rainfall and the Christmas Break we were over the moon with how quickly and smoothly the process was. We had independent Building Inspections throughout the Build and all reports and issues were addressed quickly and communication was excellent. Our Building Supervisor was amazing and nothing was ever a problem. Project was delivered on Budget and on time. We did have some issues that needed to be fixed after the build. These have all now been rectified and after so many builds where the Builders do not follow through on commitments to repair, we are amazed with the Post Build service that we have received from the team at GJ Gardner Campbelltown. I would Definitely Build with GJ Gardner Campbelltown again and highly recommend them to anyone considering a build in the Camden or Campbelltown area.

Being my first home, I was conscious of my budget as well as maximising my small block of land and Evelyn showed me it was possible to achieve a beautiful first home as well as upgrades that were truly worthwhile. The quality of the build has been incredible; with one minor issue fixed immediately and to a high standard. There is so much natural light that gives a very open and welcoming feel, something I was conscious about being a small block. I was also impressed at the wide range of standard inclusion options for me to choose from in regards to tiles / flooring / paint etc. Again, above and beyond what I had expected as well as remaining within my budget.
The whole process happened very quickly with construction taking a total of 5 months between peg out and handover! Much to the surprise (and jealousy) of my family, friends and colleagues who have built with other companies. The communication between GJ staff and myself was outstanding; with weekly email updates and photos periodically on the progress of my build as well as what to expect next was a special touch that I really appreciated. Even after moving in, Evelyn had contacted me to check in and see how everything was going. Site supervisor Daniel was always accommodating to answer my questions and allow me on site at a time that was convenient for me.

Their standard inclusions far exceeded my expectations, based on what my friends and family have previously experienced. The team were always available to answer any questions and provided timely updates on the progress of the build. My new home was ready within the contracted timeframe, despite being shut down for 4 weeks during lockdown, and I could not be happier with the final outcome. Evelyn’s guidance and “let’s make it possible” attitude, we were able to refine a GJ plan into a modern rural home that is both stunning and highly functional. The house sits comfortably in its north facing position, its light-filled spaces customised to our family’s lifestyle and needs. Evelyn worked closely with us throughout the entire process and her passion for our project and patience with us as clients, never wavered. No matter what item we asked her to cost, change or consider, she did so willingly and efficiently. There was none of the rigidity we had expected to encounter from a project builder.
When construction commenced in April 2021, the GJ team had to contend with a global timber shortage, closely followed by the resurgence of COVID-19 in NSW. The young guns at GJ Gardner Campbelltown showed adaptability and determination as they tackled really challenging times for their industry. They even met their original completion date and budget for our job.
Being a rural block, our site also had no town water or waste water system - another complexity that the GJ team capably took on for us. Site supervisor Dan, went above and beyond to manage the collaboration between his team and our external trades to ensure our underground tank and waste water system was connected and operational. Dan made himself very available to us during construction, any questions or problems that came up, were always addressed swiftly and professionally.
We have had so many family and friends comment on how exceptional our new family home is and we are very proud to tell them that it was built by the passionate, exceptionally hardworking people at GJ Gardner Campbelltown.

straightforward. After providing our home wish list, we were provided with many different designs, and within 5 days were given the tender proposal. The pre-construction phase was seamless, well-organised and transparent. During the colour selections appointment, Evelyn ensured that all our needs were met and helped us achieve the look we wanted. She was very accommodating for our requests and helped us stay within budget. Construction started in March 2021 and again, was seamless. The timeline was extremely accurate, and despite flooding and the COVID lockdown, we still finished 1 month before schedule. Our site supervisor, Dan, was fantastic to work with. He made everything seem easy which made us more relaxed! Thankfully, we had no major hurdles, however whenever we queried something it was addressed promptly and precisely. We met Dan and Evelyn several times on site for walk-throughs and updates. Our PCI was late August and there were only a few minor paint touch ups required, and small issues that were easy to rectify. We successfully had handover 5 days later where we received the keys and were instructed on how to use all the appliances. The final cost is exactly what we expected to pay from the beginning, with all cost increases due to our choice of upgrades or including additional features and these were clearly outlined in cost variations that we signed off on. GJ Gardner Campbelltown are definitely the best value in terms of getting quality fixtures and fittings, a beautiful finish, excellent customer service, and a house completed early and within budget.
