Love my house but the finishes are not so great – Such a beautiful home as we designed it all. Did take a lot of back and fourth to come up with the design as the draftsman didn’t understand everything but we for there in the end. Was told to give a 5 star rating which we did at the start but after months of back and fourth trying to get things fixed up as finishes are done very poorly on our home I have decided to change my rating and share more of my thoughts about this company seeing as though they don’t seam to care about anything we have to say. You need to give to receive and I will always give credit when credit is due but after all this I’m just very disappointed and frustrated with the guys at the Hume office. Really should be more accomodating especially after doing the walk through and seeing the finishing for themselves and still not being helpful to get things fixed. Yes we loved that they let us do things ourselves and bring things in to save us money which we appreciate but it doesn’t outweigh the bad. Every company has their issues but my husband in the building industry knows how a lot of things work and don’t agree with a lot of the things gj do. 9 months in and it scares me to think what the house will look like in 5 years. Broken air conditioning, blocked pipes, plumbing pipes not even connected, sewerage not even connected, 3 days without toilets and any type of water and getting Yarra valley water to fix their issue and being told by their own plumber that they knew it was never connected but did nothing about it and still handed our house over, mould in the shower (and blaming us for using cleaning products in the shower), sink put in backwards, the worst caulking job I’ve ever seen, grout missing in the kitchen, paint missed, flooring buckling, kitchen tap not attached properly and this is just a few things. Don’t get me wrong we love our house but the overall experience has been exhausting and I give up with the company. We don’t have money to fix these things which is upsetting as we now have to just deal with them. It just sucks. So overall, not impressed. I’ve heard the south morang office is better than Hume so if you want to build with these guys then I’d go with them.

Great Customer Service – We researched and approached several Vic builders only to face poor customer service, lack of transparency regarding costs and inflexibility when it came to any changes we wanted to make. We were fast losing heart, then we approached GJ Gardner, Sunbury/Gisborne. What a difference, everyone in this team was great, especially their New Homes Consultant and their Contracts Administrator. There was no 'them and us' environment, we felt like we were part of a team that only wanted to give us the best outcome possible. Even after the contract was signed we still experienced excellent customer service. We now have a building permit and look forward with confidence that it should be a good build.
