Glem DI965GGEI / DI965GGEI2 Questions & Answers
VerifiedHi I have a problem with the door not closing without force. I think I need a new receiver for the door on the left side there is no bearing or guide on this side but there is on the other and I found the guide, or what was left of it in the bottom storage area. Can I get one of these easily and is it easy to change over? Cheers Warren
The door is only the beginning of all the problems you will experience. Grab a sledge hammer, hit it repeatedly, and dispose. Worst oven ever. A true lemon.
Hi Warren, we're sorry to hear you're having issues and we'd like to investigate as a priority. Could you please email our customer service team via info@glemgas.com.au and include your name, details of the issue and the product code? Thank you.
Hi i bought the 750 biofuel.. plugged in the elec oven part and the vibrations and rattles sound like the whole thing will fall apart not sure if I should bother with the gas until I know if I can get it replaced as it's brand new
Hi how can I fix the gap on my over door its letting out a lot of heat and the food is not cooking properly I purchased it august 2020 please help thank you ivana pacillo
Hey Ivana My understanding is the product was discontinued for a good reason. It’s a lemon. The door issues are normal for this product. The hinges, costing approx $120 to replace will last approximately 15 to 18 months. The gas to electric switch will become faulty over time causing electric components to melt eventually breaking wire connections. The electric side of the oven to cease working all together. It has a terrible history. How there wasn’t a product recall on this model is astonishing. The possibility of fire is very real. As for the hinges, they can be modified if you have a handy person to do so. Good luck Darryn
Just fixed my door using magnets out of an old hard drive. Better than new. Bypassed the electrics. Now a standard gas oven that will work forever. Sweeeet!
I recently oiled the Hinges on my Glem S76GGESIB DUEL FUEL oven door. Since doing so the door tension is not working. The door closes and opens OK but if not held whilst doing so it will fall to the fully open position. Have I applied to much oil.? Is there a fix, maybe an adjustment to the Hinge or Spring so that the door will not drop downwards to the fully open position. Thanks Tim. timpam61@tpg.com.au
Hi Tim - you may need new hinges + supports. Please call our customer service desk on 1300 307 917 so we can assist. Thank you
I just bought a house with this gas oven model in place. I can’t find the gas hole for the oven? Could you pls guide me through? Thank you
Hi ... as a Glem stove owner (model D1965GGE1-2) I was having trouble getting my oven up to temperature as oven door would not close. I replaced the oven door seal (genuine part from you) and still had same problem. Then I ordered new hinges from you but there are no instructions ( I might add that the hinges are close but not identical to the old ones ) Door comes off easily. Can you email the hinge replacement instructions? cheers Sandy
Hi Sandy - please email us via info@glemgas.com.au so that we can share the information you need. Thank you
Does this model have a self clean mode?
No it doesn't. What it had is catalytic liners to absorb fats. The oven still needs to be properly cleaned out.
Hi I have a Glem DI965GGEI-1 and the electric selector knob is very loose but the knob is on tight its the element that is loose behind it. How do we fix it?

I have a GMF61MV1 Glem gas wall oven. The door is not closing properly so I ordered some new hinges and mounting plates from you. These have now arrived but the hinges are folded and there is no indication of what to do to open them. Also, there are no fitting instructions for the hinges and the mounting plates. Could you please email me full details and instructions to tonyharrison@tpg.com.au. Thanks Tony Harrison
Thank you Tony. The customer service team will email you shortly.
you have to try to pull the hinge open with pliers. It is a ridiculous hinge. Furthermore once the hinge is installed it is not long before you will need another. They are a poor design and cannot cope with the weight of the door. Good luck. I have had mine for a few years and am getting rid of it.
Seems to be a reoccurring theme with this oven! Door does not close, noisy and rattles. Obviously a design fault and the only response is “call us” and we will charge you a crap load for the parts for a faulty product. My daughter just burnt her fingers trying to ignite one of the burners because the door does not seal and the heat protruding from the oven door. Poor form GLEM, POOR FORM. This product is a safety hazard and should be recalled. As stated reoccurring theme throughout all these comments.
Hello, My daughter has a Glem 900 wide oven and the door receiver ( roller) on the oven (LHS) has collapsed and the door is not closing correctly. We have received new door hinges, but can some help with the installation instructions on how to replace the receiver unit. Is there any information online, it looks like the whole oven needs to be removed to gain access to remove the panels?????
Yes you need to remove the oven door. My husband googled to find the instructions. Not sure where. Our new hinges are in and the door is working well again, although I am not letting the door open to its full position as this apparently stretches the hinge. Not a great design.
Hi Acountrylad N. - please call Gerry in our customer service team for assistance with this on 1300 307 917. Thank you

I took my oven door off to strip and clean.upon re-installation when the door comes up to close it hooks on the bottom of the rubber seal and does not close against it. What have I done wrong in re assembly? I cant see any adjustment on the hinges

The oven door hinge is broken (I think - there is no tension when you open the oven door and it feels quite heavy as if it will drop to the floor) what is the part number? Where do I buy these door hinges? And what do they cost??
Hi Vicky - please call us on 1300 307 917 for assistance with these queries. Thank you.
I have a Glem oven that is about 5 years old but after a while when it gets hot the oven starts to rattle inside the oven and the cook top. Its very loud and it isn't very good when you have visitors very embarrassing! We have checked the fan at the back of the oven but it doesn't seem to be coming from there we seem to think its in the cook top somewhere. It stops after the oven cools down which can take five minutes or more. If someone could let us know what it could be it would be much appreciated. The model number is IT965PROEI. Thanks Ali
we have had a similar problem and find if you tap or re position the large burner on the cooktop the noise usually stops
Hi Ali - it sounds like the cooling fan is making a noise. Very annoying. Please send your contact details to sarah@glemgas.com.au and we will be in touch to sort it out for you.

Should the oven door close flush with side of stove( vents covered?)
Yes it should close firm against the seal that is around the opening
Hello, Yes the door should shut fully as you will not get the required heat to cook with, as the heat will escape and the Gas/Electric power will continuously run to compensate the loss, which means extra usage (extra cost $$$ for you), please read my post, and contact Glem and insist that they supply you new hinges as they posted under my comments that they would supply FREE of charge hinges for us,with a $20.postage fee (which was a Lie) I responded, and I wrote, that I hope any person with door problems reads my post and Glem would supply such person with "Free Hinges" I hope this will help you. Regards Dave...
HI Glenis L - Please call us on 1300 307 917 and ask for Sarah. We will see what we can do to help you. Oven door hinges, irrespective of brand, do wear out over time.
New hinges will get your oven door closing as good as new.
Need new knobs for oven are they available?
Hello Susan, I threw my whole stove out to the metal scrap dealer, some one else had handles that needed replacing, mine were OK so now I wish I had kept a few parts from that piece of junk to give people like you spare parts for free. But how much do you keep? You can try contacting customer service team member Sarah during business hours on 02 9721 2755 or by e-mailing sarah@glemgas.com.au. Keep in mind they will CHARGE you $$$$$$$$. Be firm and demand satisfaction, hope this helps you. Consumer Affairs Victoria should have been involved in this matter, maybe a class action? All the best with this. Regards Dave..
Hi Susan,
I'm still using my oven, so I can't help you out. The only advice I could give, Dave already did. Just contact Sarah. Perhaps she has a solution and it is not too expensive.
cheers
Nina
