This car has cost me more in repairs then it cost me to buy. And still it’s still not working properly. It’s forever going into Limp mode even with it being fully serviced and after 1 light trip of 4x4 driving it blew the turbo.
Radio forever staticy and usb plug doesn’t work, inside cigarette lighter Came apart so now doesn’t work.
The car looks great but like most things in China it’s a piece of garbage.
Purchased in for $13,500.

This is mostly used for commuting and personal transport. I'm loving the Automatic everything. Headlights, wipers, windows, reverse camera, bluetooth connection for phone, Aux attachment for my iPod, leather interior, CC A/C, heavily tinted windows and large rear view mirrors.
The diesel has plenty of punch once rolling but is a little slow off the mark. A common complaint but with cheap and easy fix available via the internet.
The rear seats don't fold flat but the boot has a rubber mat and tie down hooks.

Purchased a DEC12 Built Great Wall SUV X200 2L Diesel. First on Road May13 65,500KM & appeared to be serviced well. Viewing the Great Wall reviews on web which indicated typical issues with this later model ie No problems to date except under warranty Rear Sensors which were not working had a few loose wires & small tailgate switch stopped working so need to climb in back to open. Fixed under warranty. For value paid well worth it; good options are leather seats, rear vision mirror auto dims rear lights & tyre pressure sensors as required.

Great vehicle for the price! Has been a great work car, quite reliable. We did have an issue during one of the services where there was a tear in the air inlet pipe leading to the turbo which was replaced under warranty. The car is underpowered especially off the line however once it gets going it is adequate.
Bought the X200 from dealer in 2013, demo model. The only problem I have had with the car was the brakes, swapped them out for Bendix. Replaced tires but that's natural wear and tear. Driven all over WA, not a single problem with it. Drives better than some Jap models and more reliable. Never took it to the dealer for service as they are complete rip off merchants, the warranty is a joke as well, found a good garage and they do all the servicing on it for less than half the dealer price. The only other thing that has recently broke is the USB connector in the arm rest but I just use the jack instead now to connect my iPod. Great car for the price.

This car is economical and versatile. This model is automatic but can be manual by simply putting it into that mode.It is easy to drive around in cities and also great for long road trips. Foe the price of these vehicles you will find it hard to beat.

Bought my 2013 Great Wall SUV 1 month ago, looks very nice on the road and only has 61000 ks on the clock. I immediatley had coolant leaking problems, returned the next week for power failure trouble, returned the next week for dash light problems. All fixed by dealers workshop...apparently. Car will be returned tomorrow, this time I will have my cranky pants on when I take it back. Travelling on the highway on Sat 9th Sept 2017, I went up a steep incline, started at 100 kms per hour, within 5 seconds vehicle had lost all power, I eventually cha...
Read morenged right back down into 1st gear, vehicle was doing 30 kms per hour, traffic was backed up behind me, I was able to pull off the side of the road to get out of the way, a semi trailer was was travelling in the same direction and I needed to get out of his way before he ran over the top of me. Very angry that my life was put into danger by the this totally unreliable vehicle. I have no faith in this car at all, power on take off is very low, I am not game to over take a vehicle because the car keeps flat lining. I would not recommend anyone to buy by this model..Find out how Great Wall X200 compares to other Midsize / Medium SUVs

We have owned our X200 since new in 2012 and though it has not been the most reliable of all the cars I have it has been better than most. At 75000 is it is still on its original tyres and the front pads still have 30% left on them. (Ironically the rear pads where replaced at 30000 by Bendix pads and they are still on 40% after 45000)
We have just had the first headlamp bulb blow and the car is now due for cam belt. The clutch is still original despite the fact we have pulled Commodores and Falcon home on a car trailer on numerous occasions ....
WE LIVE ABOUT 70 KLICKS FROM BENDIGO WITH ABOUT 20 KLICKS OF GRAVEL MUD CLAY ROAD
in 4 wheel drive on the gravel it out performs better handling control than my land cruiser tray series 79 2012 model does everything so easy a pleasure to drive on our back roads we fitted a bull bar for the roos only thing is the drivers seat is a little small for me had the car since new in 18 months its done 80/000thousand clicks with out a worry love the hatch on a sunney day will definatly buy another fuel economy much better than other cars ive owned
I've previously had a new Hyundai Santa Fe Tdi, and couldn't afford to replace it, so looked at the Great Wall X200. In 2015 I purchased a 2012 X200, in immaculate condition, with 20,000 on the clock for just NZ$18,000. I've now had it 18 months and put 30,000km on it, without any major problems whatsoever.
Minor problems have been:
- cheap headlight bulbs blowing (replacements are simple and inexpensive)
- poor quality rubber on the turbo intake hose, which needed to be replaced
- poor front wheel alignment
Other than those, it has performed well, tows excellently, and offers an incredible amount of value for a relatively low price.
I've been really happy with my purchase and never regretted it for a minute.

I had a X200 for 11 months, and it kept dying, total loss of power, it did it on the freeway once , and we nearly got hit by a semi trailer doing 100 kph, we had no where to go to pull over, it just missed us. Anyway I kept taking it back, they kept putting it on their computer, and there was never a fault recorded, I ended up putting a polish ebay chip on it, and it didn't fail after that, but after the truck episode my partner flatly refused to sit in the car, so I sold it , I managed to get $17.5k for it, I paid nearly $30k, everyone that I have spoken to has had similar problems, they look nice, and all that but I think they are a death trap
Goodaye, bought my X200 in 2012 with all the options fitted (sunroof, side steps, nudge bar, GW carpets, towbar, front windows tinted and all the plastic protection for lights and bonnet etc.). Cost about $32,000 on road which also included an extended dealer warranty out to 5 yrs.
All the common problems have gone wrong and covered under warranty: Turbo hose, rear compartment cover retaining clips? and the doodad clip that allows you to remove the rear headrests. Weirdest warranty issue we had was the original tyres. They began to shred at ...
Read moreabout 20,000 kms. Replaced with much better tyres that are still going strong at 70,000 kms plus. Since having the turbo hose replaced we have developed an annoying vibration coming from the vicinity of the right front guard. Dealers could not locate so one day I will rip apart and try to fix myself. Have had the right headlight blow 3 times now. Pain in the but to replace, but managed without having to remove any other surrounding parts or headlight module. I use some fishing line through the prongs to keep a hold of the bulb because very easy to drop into the abyss as I did on many occasions. Had to buy a flexible magnet to recover. Had the ECU mod done by dealer which did make a slight difference in the take off power. Later fitted the Polish el-cheapo ECU box that did make a difference. (still not as good as I would really like). Tried the blanking plate (one with the hole in it) and believe it made absolutely no difference and actually used more fuel. Would like to try a throttle controller, but have not found one that fits the X200. I do like the interior. Have fitted a dash mat to hide the plastic cheep looking dash top. Had a look at the Mitzy Challenger recently and believe the X200 offers far superior quality and dash looks especially when you consider the price difference. Pity the rear seats don't lay flat, but has not hindered any luggage carrying capability. We have the silver X200 with tinted windows and find that it is a very pleasing to look at vehicle. Very sleek and stylish. Paint work is thin and has needed many touch ups but always scrubs up like a new vehicle when washed.I bought a 2012 X200 at 12 months old with a little over 30,000 km on the clock. We now have a little over 54,000 on the clock. We have done a few trips up north around Cairns and the Daintree and Chillagoe without any problems. The only problem we have had was with the engine immobiliser system the aerial around the key was replaced under warranty. Replaced the 4 tyres at 53,000 and the rear brake pads, down to about 1 mm. I fitted a performance chip about a month ago and it has fixed the lag at take off can actually drive through a car park w...

Read morept to get info after 4 weeks. As it was a real pain to clamber into the back area to find a difficult lever located behind tailgate latch; decided to repair myself as worked out it was the switch confirmed by auto sparky. Difficult spot to get at but was able to get at switch, remove then drill into plastic 25mm hole & insert a larger auto black switch, rewire and bingo it works. Seal off with black silicon to alleviate water ingress.
