Bought a voucher from Groupon to find out it had some T&C's that are not in any of fine print. Asked for a refund 9 days after purchase and they can't even refund me the cost of the voucher, they are only offering "Groupon Bucks". I have been through the refund investigation with no success. Stay clear of this company.
DO NOT BUY PHYSICAL ITEM ON GROUPON. The merchant A&B HOME FASHION doesn't exist. The product I paid for never arrived. I have been trying to get help through customer support and they are completely useless! They totally don't care and they haven't done anything at all. After one hour of asking for a follow up direct contact information as each navigation away closes the assist window (by design I'm sure) and my requests blatantly ignored, my civil tone became angrier and through their dishonest, evasive rep I be some downright insulting.
In any event, the take away here is I'm never doing business with them and nor should you. The important thing to remember is they will never provide direct customer assistance. The only way to eventually get to a chatbot is to question an existing order, which means if you don't give them money they don't give you any attention.
For those like me that had to Google information to get in touch with them the answer is you cannot. I guess you could place an order and then spend an hour clicking to the hidden place where the bot shows up and be willing to sacrifice your money in order to get answers. In my case, I had a decade old account with $130 in it that I could not get information or clarity on because there's nobody to comtact When somebody finally appeared, they were creepy about providing $$$ information that is rightfully mine.

This experience has completely put me off using Groupon again. If you’re using the app for deals, save yourself the trouble and contact the business directly — you can usually get the same offer without dealing with this kind of terrible aftercare. Don’t waste your time or money.

Groupon refused to refund a purchase for a restaurant. The restaurant informed me that I should be able to get a refund. Groupon states that refund in under 14 days but do not honour this. The message when i tried to do this said it was outside the 7 day refund policy which was not on the purchase policy. When i asked for more information, it says it is non-refundable. No written proof of where this is stated.

morning that he could not make it. It was the day when our table is booked in Brisbane (we are at the Gold Coast). Immediately, I cancelled the booking using the online chat but it triggered a cancellation forfeiture if we do not use it. We could not use it or neither can we find a suitable replacement with 4pp ready to have dinner in Brisbane. However, it was a happy outcome as I ended getting a FULL refund from using Groupon credits (Groupon bucks).
I think my patience with the Groupon Customer Support team paid off. Groupon runs a business and they are getting their act together now from changes in senior local management. We all like a good bargain and more so in an environment with high food prices.
Tips: a.Patience; b.Allow time for them to response (in my case, I allowed 2 weeks within which I will escalate it another notch); c.Show cause - explain. Get your facts right. d.Groupon bucks are a form of credits but ensure that the credits are in full. In my case, I am happy for a repurchase (not refund) as I intended to use the same offering. Your case may differ. e.Be kind and there is no need to disparage them as it will make things worse; f.Provide them with good feedback to improve their system.

Mid May I purchased a carton of wine from Groupon/Just Wine. The order was confirmed BUT the wine has never arrived. Attempted to contact Groupon but no phone number. Then they sent an email at the end of May, telling me I had a voucher for the amount to be spent at Groupon but this had to be used by 30 June. No explanation as to what happened to the wine. I want a refund, not a voucher, as I believe Groupon is a scam.
Bought and paid for some software. Fulfilment process said ‘out of stock’ and offered (unsuitable) alternative or refund. Took refund but told up to 14 days to pay. Unacceptable delay suggesting the interest on withheld funds is part of their business model.
Terrible customer service and no company ethics. Won’t take any responsibility for their faulty payment portal and although payment was deducted twice, no refund was offered. Extremely strict refund policy despite the company being at fault so watch your payments and think twice before purchasing anything!

I received a Groupon as a gift. The expiry date is very short and there is no flexibility for refund after numerous attempts. The major issue is that the vendor has no power over the voucher because it is entirely in control of Groupon who are difficult to contact - it's very impersonal. I'd like to see Groupon get boycotted. I would strongly urge people not to purchase from them.
