DO NOT USE GUEST RESERVATIONS I specifically asked multiple times during the reservation process whether the quoted price was in Australian dollars. Each time I was assured that yes, it was AUD and there would be no additional charges. I then received my credit card charge and reservation confirmation — the amount was actually in US dollars. … Read more

This is not a minor misunderstanding. I explicitly clarified the currency before agreeing to the booking precisely because I wanted to know the total amount I would be charged.

Being repeatedly told the price was in Australian dollars, only to discover after payment that it was charged in US dollars, is completely unacceptable and extremely misleading.

I would not have proceeded with the booking on those terms. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Guest Reservations.

I had an extremely negative experience while trying to make a booking for a hotel through the Guest Reservation. I was hung up on when they couldn’t answer a question, put on hold 5 times, and told they could not modify a booking because of “policy limitations”, I asked what that meant and they couldn’t give an explanation, it all round feels… Read more

EXTREMELY scammy. After booking there was a 100$ charge added, and one night for the hotel through the Guest Reservation was double the cost that I found for the same hotel on other sites. I cancelled the booking and made a new one through booking.com

This company quoted me Australian $s and charged US dollars. I booked a hotel today they said would be $150 and I got charged $200! When I called them to question why I was charged more they offered me a 5% discount then a 10% discount but would not refund or match the price they quoted Show details

DO NOT USE GUEST RESERVATIONS Booked two nights at advertised rate but discovered they were not Quest reservations but Guest reservations when I contacted them to change to one night literally an hour after original booking to discover non refundable and charged in US dollars and taxes ended up paying over $500 for a one night stay. on the hotel side as Booking.com so no surprises there - I have avoided Booking.com since poor experience with them over shabby after sales practices (zero assistance or accountability). I am so angry that I have used them as I prefer to book direct with hotel which is what this scam site had me believe.

20 July - After receiving response below I emailed them directly - awaiting response.

26 July - no response

02 August - still nothing!

Should have read the reviews first! As everyone else said... they advertise the best price, not telling you that there are other fees. I literally only noticed when I got a transaction notification from my credit card that was much higher than what I'd agreed to on the site. I didn't even see any fine print about it. They added a $65 'Services… Read more

I was quoted $133 per night. Got charged $404.23 for 2 nights. I called the hotel who told me to cancel. I have been charged a hidden cancellation fee of $148.70 by this scammy website service for cancelling within 1 hour. The entire flow of the website is designed to trick you. Totally unethical and should be avoided. All the extra charges… Read more

Minus 100 stars if I could. I was quoted one price and overcharged by hundreds. I call and no one responds. The reviews on the site are fake. The hotel’s reservation company deals with another third party and refused to cancel when I called them. Now I have to dispute with bank and cancel card - what a mess! Show details

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! This company is ripping people off by misleading you into thinking you are booking directly with the hotel. I wanted to pay the hotel directly. Absolutely disgusted by this company. Our mum died unexpectedly the day before our 1-night stay. I still called them mere hours after she had passed to let them know the situation and to give as much notice as I could. I also contacted the hotel directly. The hotel were fine with a refund. Expedia were happy with a refund. But… Read more

Guestreservations.com and their 2nd “middle-man” have decided not to honour a refund and have not even given us a chance to provide a death certificate to prove we are not lying. The company demonstrates no ability to show compassion in extreme cases it seems. Such a vile company. We need the money to help pay for a funeral so this has just added to the stress of the situation and they simply won’t help. Avoid.

This service is highly predatorial. They charged us ~$700 in service fees, bringing our total to over $3300, while the hotel itself, with more options (free cancellation and kids eat free), offers the same room for the same number of nights for $2800, including breakfast. There is nothing included in $3300, and cancellation is ~$560. We did not… Read more

Please be careful when booking through this company. We did not realise we were booking through a third-party provider until problems arose. and construction noise was quite loud, leaving only the beach available for relaxation. The hotel staff agreed to cancel our booking and recommended we receive a refund.

Unfortunately, contacting Guest Reservations was difficult, as our emails kept bouncing back. Although they eventually refunded us, the process felt unnecessarily difficult and we were repeatedly warned not to dispute the charge with our credit card company. Thankfully, the refund has now been returned to our account.

They are impostors of the real websites. I was led to believe that I was booking directly through the accommodation only to find out on check in that I had booked through Guest Services portraying to Manly Marina Cove in Queensland and I was charged and extra service fee. Misleading Booking Process and Pricing Guest Reservations is clearly misleading its customers. If I could give 0/5 I would. I initially thought they were much cheaper, but I did not realise that the GST (tax) was not included in the price (in Australia the default is for the GST to be included in the advertised price). The price on Guest Reservation ended up being way more expensive than on other sites. And then the promise of 'fully… Read more

refundable' was a lie. You can cancel, but your cancellation occurs with you relinquishing your entire payment (which begs the question, why would you cancel???) And then they have the gall to send you an email saying "Congrats on a Great Deal!"

I wish I hadn't been in such a rush and had taken a bit more time to search for reviews of 'Guest Reservation'. Learn from my mistake and DO NOT USE THIS SITE!

Scam site which unless you look carefully, leads you to believe you are booking with the hotel directly. I ended up paying $208.21 for an advertised $140.00 per night room. Why do accommodation providers associate themselves rip-off online booking sites??

The sad thing about this scam site, is you wont know you are using their website & getting scammed until you get your final payment advice.... so it will be very hard to avoid getting scammed. paid it had gone to $290 without any mention of any extra costs or taxes..... we dont pay these taxes in Australia. Obviously i rang them and complained within 5 minutes & got nowhere, they just cite their refund & cancellation policies, you can cancel but it is %100 non refundable, rang the hotel, they couldn't or wouldn't help, but they did inform me that the reservation had come from booking.com & if you've ever tried lodging a complaint with them, you wont bother a second time. At the end of the day if you get raped by this mob you can either suck it up or forgo your entire amount that they screwed you for. Best advice I can give...... double check, triple check your address bar... if it says anything remotely GUEST RESERVATIONS, cancel & start again.

I booked an adelaide hotel thinking it was booked on the hotels direct website. Guest reservations had used the hotels direct website photos to make me think I was booking direct but they then charged a high booking fee and the booking was also unable to be cancelled without incurring 100% cancellation fee. Guest reservations are a scam website providing no advantage to the customer but charging a high booking g fee. They should be avoided.

I thought I was booking with the site of the hotel I use. Somehow Guest Reservations intervened between me and that site, misrepresenting themselves, effectively, as the hotel’s own site. Later, as I was planning on trying to get a refund out of Guest Reservations and voiding that booking, I went back to the proper hotel site, and booked the same hotel, same dates for about $400 (AUD).

Try to have nothing to do with them.

In my experience, they are not a legitimate travel booking site. They are a disgrace.

This website is a complete scam and they will share your information with other agencies. They impersonate the hotel that you are looking for by getting their site sponsored so it sits at the top of the list. I was given a different room than the one that I booked and I couldn't change it when i got to the hotel. They have not given me the refund that i am due. They pretend they will but they don't. This company is a scam and should be investigated. They add 'rates and taxes' to each booking equivalent to around 30% more than the advertised price of a room. The 1800 phone number is not answered, emails are not answered. This company poses online as the hotel property, they use the hotelname.guestreservations.com.au. Please be very careful when booking accommodation online to be sure you are not overcharged by tis company.
