I thought I was booking with the site of the hotel I use. Somehow Guest Reservations intervened between me and that site, misrepresenting themselves, effectively, as the hotel’s own site. Later, as I was planning on trying to get a refund out of Guest Reservations and voiding that booking, I went back to the proper hotel site, and booked the same hotel, same dates for about $400 (AUD).
That should tell you what you need to know about Guest Reservations.
Try to have nothing to do with them.
In my experience, they are not a legitimate travel booking site. They are a disgrace.

Definitely a fraudulent site. When I tried to complain about outrageous hidden fees I was given phone numbers that are not connected. I was quoted $133 per night. Got charged $404.23 for 2 nights. I called the hotel who told me to cancel. and everything are shown after the payment has been taken. See the attached receipt sent AFTER payment is made and all the EXTRA charges. The bank payment also shows a different company name and the booking received by the hotel comes under booking.com
Minus 100 stars if I could. I was quoted one price and overcharged by hundreds. I call and no one responds. The reviews on the site are fake. FRAUDULENT SITE – I booked The Tannnery in Crete and the hotel was €1600, then when I push the pay button it added a €657 charge which is around $1,000aud I tried to reach out and can’t get through on their phone and they won’t return any emails. I reached out to the hotel and they said it’s a fraudulent site that does book the rooms but charges ridiculous fees. DO NOT USE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES THEY SHOULD BE CLOSED DOWN

This company is unethical. I had a flight cancelation canceled two weeks in advance they refused to provide a refund even though the hotel did not charge a penalty. I lost $400.00

Follow-up · ** UPDATE ** - Guest Reservations SCAM. The matter was not resolved nor addressed by Guest Reservations. Final charge was $2419.28 - for TWO 2-bedroom villas, for 6 guests. Original booking was $834.70 - for ONE 2-bedrrom villa, for 4 guests.

They impersonate the hotel that you are looking for by getting their site sponsored so it sits at the top of the list. I was given a different room than the one that I booked and I couldn't change it when i got to the hotel. They have not given me the refund that i am due. They pretend they will but they don't. This company is a scam and should be investigated. They add 'rates and taxes' to each booking equivalent to around 30% more than the advertised price of a room. The 1800 phone number is not answered, emails are not answered. This company poses online as the hotel property, they use the hotelname.guestreservations.com.au. Please be very careful when booking accommodation online to be sure you are not overcharged by tis company.

These people use deceptive advertising. They add 30-40% of the advertised price in bogus fees. They do not accept cancellations, even if made minutes after a reservation. we have paid almost aud $400 more by making booking by guest reservation website. When we called guest reservation after 10 mins to cancel the booking for return they did not show any interest infact they were very rude n adamant. When you book from overseas it’s really hard to find legitimate website and this guest reservation website people are cheater never get trapped . Feeling very upset, betrayed and frustrated . Misleading!!! They advertise a low rate in bold up the top but at the bottom in small writing they advertise the cost including “fees and taxes” in my case room rate was $170 and they charged $260. $90 in fees and taxes. Completely misleading

paid nearly $400AUD a night for a room that I later found was only $270AUD through the actual hotel site! I called back immediately and was told that their refund policy was zero refunds and no exception. This is a scam and should be avoided if booking within Australia. I have lodged a complaint with Fair Trading and contact the Holiday Park to ask them to severe ties to this third party. It’s disgusting the way they charge and don’t disclose the USD price tag.

Pricing is very misleading and as they use the accommodation's name in the domain name it is very confusing particularly if you are in a hurry. The pricing shown in large numbers is similar to the real cost but the 'taxes and booking fee's added up to over 25% of the cost so beware. Do not use this site. Be very careful with guest reservations.com. They are a US site and will advertise an acceptable price for a hotel room and have taxes and service fees written in fine print and before you know it, your invoice for the room will $100 more than what you wanted to pay. SCAM. Yes you will get the room you booked but not without paying 100+ EXTRA a night in "fees" they claim on their booking confirmation that go to the hotel for various reasons. Can confirm they do not go to the hotel! They're also hidden so you dont see them until AFTER you've paid. You cannot cancel or amend.
