Warranty, the fridge stopped. Wiring had broken connecting the front control panel on right door, at hinge point. The wire had been put on too tight. Last week, the light went off, when the fridge door was opened. Strange? My husband turned it off, then back on again. And the light continued working. But - inside started to smell like something had rotted. And the TOP SECTION OF THE FRIDGE IS NOT COOLING. Thank God, THE FREEZER DRAW SECTION IS STILL WORKING (for how long??) I went into the Haier site to complain. Surprisingly, I was told by the Haier Service Agent - and I quote, as follows;- For your model, there is a known issue where the defrost system can cause evaporator icing, leading to a loss of cooling in the fridge section. Haier has issued Field Fix Kit to resolve this, which includes a replacement power board, defrost fuse, and a PE pad, along with instructions to remove any ice buildup. End of quote. We may have to pay for call out, because our Warranties have ended. We are 58 days out of All the Warranties. Is Haier operating a "Planned Obsolescence"? Here is what my husband and I want. We demand to have our fridge replaced. Failing that - as a token of goodwill - we want the Field Fix Kit installed in our fridge - AT NO COST TO OURSELVES. Two Major failures in just over 5 years IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH! We were delighted when we first for this Fridge! It absolutely ticked all our boxes. And now, it's just another drain on our life. P.s.If there is a Field Kit, for our fridge, obviously because Many, many others, have had this issue, why didn't Appliances Online contact us, to let us know? Or, do they simply wait until everything in the fridge perishes, we start screaming and THEN the act? Doesn't seem like Good Customer Service either. P.p.s. attached is a photo of our Kelvinator Fridge. Impression Series 300. It's what we're using now to tide us over until the Haier is fixed. How old is our Kelvinator, you may ask? Well, it was part of a pigeon pair when we moved into our house in 1980 - they MOST CERTAINLY DO NOT make White Goods like they used to. *Sigh*

Never buy another Haier product – After 4 years it has died. The freezer works perfectly, but the fridge (fresh food) section has an issue where the coil evaporator in the freezer compartment ices up. A quick fix is to defrost the coil in the freezer section with a hairdryer, and the fridge will work for about 5 days before the issue recurs. Quality - after 4 months, the rubber bands on the door fridge has already begun to tear. I'm not sure if this is just due to our toddler being rough with it, or its just poor quality. The doors often don't close unless we give it a firm push.

Conclusion: The Haier 514L French Door Refrigerator is a great option for those seeking a spacious, efficient, and stylish appliance for their kitchen.

Rebooted to see if that did anything and it started working again for a week and now it finally karked it. Freezer still works but not the best. (really lived the black but we were worried scratches would show up more) and we are really happy with the product. The great thing about this fridge is your choice of compartments. One of the freezer sections can be fridge or freezer, your choice. Big party? Change bottome left section to fridge. It looks great and keeps everything at the right temperature which can be easily adjusted on the front of the door. The best thing was the price! It was under $1600 delivered with the old fridge taken away. Our last fridge lasted 23 years. Let's hope this does the same.

more expensive electrolux I bought for 2400, with 7 dents, broken door and loud humming noise. Plus this fridge is 4 star energy. I am just extremely happy. Oh my God. The fridge looks very luxury. Like 4000 fridge. The finish is extremely strong, scratch resistant and extremely clean (matt black). It's not easily scratched like dark stainless steel. Honestly if this is priced 2x the price I would still buy it. I price-matched it at AO because they do premium next day delivery for free. Haier fridge uses the same customer service team with F&P. They are the most friendly and professional people in the world I'm telling you. You would get F&P quality or even better (4 star energy) with this luxury fridge.

Do yourself a favour and purchase extended warranty with this one – We bought this from the Good Guys with a 5 year extended warranty. We needed something bigger than our previous 2 door fridge and this was the perfect fit for our fridge space without any modifications and 100 litres bigger. cooling. They decided on a replacement and 2 years and 1month later this replacement fridge has gone faulty. This time the fridge section is freezing everything. We had the service technician around who decided to replace the 2 doors and the control board. Both occasions faults were from a design floor of the wiring harness to the control panel. The factory harness is too tight, it runs from the top middle panel across to the top of the fridge door and then down to the panel. There's no slack in the harness and the wiring gets stressed every time the door opens and closes, eventually fracturing the wire inside. It really needs a recall notice and a longer harness installed.

Not worth the money – Had fridge for 11 months and it no longer works. Internal lights started to flicker before the touch panel became completely unresponsive. Does not work at all. total electrical failure just outside of warranty – Similar issues as others. Multiple electrical board issues. Now total failure at 2 years and 9 months, so outside of manufactures warranty. Smaller issues with poor seal quality but didn't affect the operation other than maybe costing a few extra dollars per quarter for compressor motor run time. Very bad service from Good Guys and low quality product – Bought it less than three years. The fridge section stops working, but the freezer is still working. Remove frost in the freezer many times, just working for one week and has to defrost again to make it working again. third time wasnt a charm either - my silver fridge was provided with a black door. Finally they just replaced the whole fridge. Fridge number 2 has been good for 12 months but recently the fridge has started to feel warm. We're turning it off and then on again and this helps, sometimes, but things aren't as cold as they should be. We've booked for a technician but next available is 3 weeks! I just want to get rid of this fridge now, it's too much trouble and I dont want to go through this every year.

panel was working, I ordered a replacement light online. Later on I found out that the entire fridge was not working, and everything in the freezer had melted.

I pulled the fridge out and switched it off and on again, and it all magically started working again. That was a weird one off.

Then this morning I smelled something awful, and found that the fridge had stopped working again, everything inside it was warm, and the raw chicken inside had gone bad. The fridge light still worked though.

I contacted their customer service line, and they pestered me for receipts and so on, even though I had registered the fridge on their website.

After quite some time, I was able to convince them that I needed someone to look at my fridge for a warranty repair. They said they don't have any service technicians in my area (Sydney!), and they would send it to a third party service provider.

I called the service provider a couple of times but they had no record of my warranty service request on their system.

I called Haier back and they quoted the same reference number, and said that they really sent it this time.

TLDR - it broke in under 18 months, even if they repair it under warranty, I won't be confident in this fridge ever again

Update: 3 weeks later, they sent a technician out twice. After the first time, we restocked the fridge, but it froze everything and destroyed more food, the second time the technician couldn't do anything. (Interestingly, the front panel, where you can set the temperature and so on died between the 2 visits).

They ended up sending a replacement, which we thought would be a happy ending to this story, but the delivery guys scratched up our floor in 2 different ways by dragging fridges across it instead of using a trolley.
