Warranty, the fridge stopped. Wiring had broken connecting the front control panel on right door, at hinge point. The wire had been put on too tight. Last week, the light went off, when the fridge door was opened. Strange? My husband turned it off, then back on again. And the light continued working. But - inside started to smell like something had rotted. And the TOP SECTION OF THE FRIDGE IS NOT COOLING. Thank God, THE FREEZER DRAW SECTION IS STILL WORKING (for how long??) I went into the Haier site to complain. Surprisingly, I was told by the Haier Service Agent - and I quote, as follows;- For your model, there is a known issue where the defrost system can cause evaporator icing, leading to a loss of cooling in the fridge section. Haier has issued Field Fix Kit to resolve this, which includes a replacement power board, defrost fuse, and a PE pad, along with instructions to remove any ice buildup. End of quote. We may have to pay for call out, because our Warranties have ended. We are 58 days out of All the Warranties. Is Haier operating a "Planned Obsolescence"? Here is what my husband and I want. We demand to have our fridge replaced. Failing that - as a token of goodwill - we want the Field Fix Kit installed in our fridge - AT NO COST TO OURSELVES. Two Major failures in just over 5 years IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH! We were delighted when we first for this Fridge! It absolutely ticked all our boxes. And now, it's just another drain on our life. P.s.If there is a Field Kit, for our fridge, obviously because Many, many others, have had this issue, why didn't Appliances Online contact us, to let us know? Or, do they simply wait until everything in the fridge perishes, we start screaming and THEN the act? Doesn't seem like Good Customer Service either. P.p.s. attached is a photo of our Kelvinator Fridge. Impression Series 300. It's what we're using now to tide us over until the Haier is fixed. How old is our Kelvinator, you may ask? Well, it was part of a pigeon pair when we moved into our house in 1980 - they MOST CERTAINLY DO NOT make White Goods like they used to. *Sigh*
Follow-up · I kept asking for compensation, because this was a Manufacturing Issue. That should have been recalled. Fisher Paykel didn't agree. HW2024 – Dont buy, defrosting issue after 4yrs only. Call out fee 270+,not including parts, no gureetee on fixing it. Door flimzy, seal breaking after 3yrs and had to replace them. Shelving not designed properly. Show details

third time wasnt a charm either - my silver fridge was provided with a black door. Finally they just replaced the whole fridge. Fridge number 2 has been good for 12 months but recently the fridge has started to feel warm. We're turning it off and then on again and this helps, sometimes, but things aren't as cold as they should be. We've booked for a technician but next available is 3 weeks! I just want to get rid of this fridge now, it's too much trouble and I dont want to go through this every year.
Total fridge failure after 6 year and previoys repetitive door seal failures – As well as the door seal failures, rust has developed and now the fridge has completely failed after 6 years of service. Following a $200 service call out the service engineer says the fridge now needs regassing and it is not cost effective to repair. Previously the vertical door seal has split twice, once after 18 months and the replacement seal after 11 months. The seal is clearly unfit for purpose and needs a redesign so it can last more than 12 months. Door seal was repaired under warranty. Hopefully the 12 month warranty on the repair will be honored, however if the door seal needs replacing every 12 months then one would assume that the the design was not fit for purpose! A redesigned seal is required.
was suprised how good it is! – So l did a bit of research and found this to be the only fridge that would fit in the space - l was pleased with what l got. Fault only after 3 months of use – We bought this fridge in November 2020 as an upgrade to our old one ( different brand) that still was working perfectly after 13 years, but was on the smaller size. Broken after 2.5 years – I bought this model for 2.5 years ago. Recently, the machine kept switching off the circuit whenever plugging in. Got 2 electrician and fridge repair specialist came to inspect, both said there is a motor issue and will cost $700-800 to fix. I was shocked because this machine is only 2.5 years old. Fridge is a beautiful satin silver and looks great and is super quiet and remains at temperature all the time no matter how often those kids open it to browse. Plenty of space with two big draws for vegetables, meat etc in the bottom of the fridge. Freezer has one big draw and two little pull out ones l thought would be a pain but they actually have grown on me and has plenty of room.
As expected – Although there is not the most popular brand, we purchased it to replace our old doubel door fridge since we know Haier from China. noisy – We have just purchased out first Haier fridge freezer. It seems annoyingly noisy. Is it the compressor that makes the noise when it kicks in, is it supposed to be so noticeable. Good value for money – The only real draw back of this fridge is that the compressor is a lot more noticeable than more expensive fridges but that is to be expected for a fridge in this price range. good; it's well lit and there is a door open alert chime that sounds when the door has been open for more than about twenty seconds. The fresh food trays are spacious and slide in and out easily and there is plenty of room for items in the doors. The freezer is spacious and also maintains even temperature. Energy efficiency is as good as most fridges of this size.
