Never again Garden City Perth – HWT would be perfect as an online only service only due to its faceless cold nature. after all in the customer service industry. If you need to do other work, remove yourself from the service area perhaps! I will be advising my parents who have used this store for cruises, European and Australian trips to never ever be using this store again. Its not only my circle that HWT Garden City Perth has alienated, a friend with me was shocked at their behaviour also. Looking at these less than average reviews we aren't the only ones. No customers in there so they had ample time to help us lack interest & people skills

Deeply disappointed – I went to the Harvey Workd Travel branch in Woden ACT seeking a holiday in the Malaysian peninsular with internal travel by rail. My parents had managed to book a rail based holiday through the Harvey World Travel franchise in UIladulla and I actually provided a copy of their booking to the Woden agent. hotels as I am a gold member of their rewards program. The agent took detailed notes and was very pleasant. We identified 5 locations we wanted to stay during our trip commencing in Singapore. All of these locations had an IHG hotel with one exception. The agent took detailed notes and was very pleasant. However, it appears she was simply a front for some holiday packaging company. The response I recieved did not include any IHG hotels and had internal air connections instead of rail because they claimed they could not book the train. Things did not improve when I asked for a detailed quote which failed to include the Canberra-Sydney connections.

Frustrated I decided to book online making the flights through Webjet, the rail bookings through the KMT Malaysia website and other connections and tours through Viator. I rang IHG who quickly arranged the hotels and I did the hotel in Ipoh directly through the hotel's website. Even after adding travel insurance, rail tickets and the Canberra - Sydney flight connections, I was still an amazing $1,300 less than the quotation. I am still amazed that if I can create an account and make bookings with KMT Rail why a travel agent cannot deliver the same service. Agent appeared to take detailed notes and was very pleasant It seems both the agent and travel package company lost sight of what I wanted as the customer and seemed determined to give me the package they wanted to deliver. Clearly the quotation significantly more expensive.

accommodation, transfers, and or car hire etc. So when I approached HWT, I had done my research, booked Hotels, Train tickets on-line and just needed to finalise; Airfares and Coach Tour payments.

In hindsight; I could have done this myself; although as an Internet novice at the time, I needed assurance that our Tour deposit was not supporting a Lonely Hearts scam in Africa… So basically we ended up paying considerably more because our Australian tour companies are expensive!? Had I booked via the USA website with our AUD being so high we could have saved a considerable (approx.) $600.00AUD each! Yes well, there’s always next time?

Nonetheless, HWT gave us a further discount on air fares, guaranteed our flight connections (which do alter at the Airlines discretion!), fulfilled our requirement for English speaking Guide with ATI Coach Tour, and kept in touch with any changes.

Meanwhile, weeks before we had left on one holiday we were already booking our next holiday onboard the QM2 in 2013; to circumnavigate New Zealand… Again HWT offered to reduce our early-bird fares by going through them… A well appreciated saving extra!

Here is where I believe it's the Travel Consultants and not the Company itself, be it Harvey World Travel or Flight Centre etc. that make our holiday arrangements stress free… If your Consultant is lousy or pushy; move on! It’s called freedom of choice… Or now days we can simply go online, making face to face arrangements a thing of the past and all the more impersonal. Yet have you tried arguing on a website, when your deposit goes missing!? The Travel Consultant who helped me If you're a Budget Traveller, there are limitations on what Agents can offer.

Excellent – Great non-pressured and helpful service. Disconfirmed everything I believed about travel agents (at least in the Dapto office). Highly recommended. Understood what we wanted. Prices comparable with Web. Answered questions honestly. No high pressure sales. Nothing so far

transfers 100 per cent. When contacted the advice from the agent was merely are you going to claim on travel insurance. I might point out that the 3 travellers on this trip spent close to $80,000 at Harvey World Penrith in the last 2 years.

I will not bother with this company with any of my travels in the future. I find that Flight Centre operates much more efficiently and are not pushy like this company.

visit shop to get action on getting a invoice or an itinerary (original & after changes) is ridiculous. Refunds were only offered in voucher form, after I pointed out I was due a refund. Tip: Do not leave the shop until the consultant has emailed you a softcopy, printed the email, and printed the paperwork to give to you in person. Also - given dodgy con-like response to refunds, refuse to pay more than a basic deposit for your itinerary (as per most other travel agencies operating in Australia), as chances are you will not get it back.

I thought travel agents were there to advise you your holiday's. Stay away from Harvey World travel Mount Waverley because it looks like they are to busy for customers. Never use Harvey World Travel at Belconnen – I would never use Harvey world travel again, complaints were justified by excuses, excuses, excuses. They never give reciepts on time, they give wrong information. Never follow up on emails. They just don't give a hoot about the customer. I am very disappointed about my whole experience with this company. Please do not use this company!

were given had a hotel listed that we were no longer interested in booking, no cost was included on this itinerary. When I asked for a new itinerary without the hotel that was listed that we weren't staying at, it was sent a couple of days later - with no total cost. All bookings we had made through Harvey World Travel gave us no reciepts, broken down or total costs. We had to request them. Still - a very long delay in reply. I would never recommend this company. It's terrible. I'm very disappointed.

proposal / quote almost instantly, however as soon as we had accepted it and started to paying it off, any communication, replies to email or updated accounts were basically non existent.

When following up with emails sent weeks prior, we were always (after some days) replied to with yet another excuse as to why something hadn't been done, couldn't be done or is still (weeks later) in the process of being done. The email replies were also written with an attitude not apologetic tone which as far as I am concerned is disgusting customer service (well if you could call it service at all).

My friend who is getting married has also recently be advised that the accommodation they booked as they honeymoon suite can now not be guaranteed and they will only try to get them this room. We will be contacting the resort once we receive confirmation to ensure it has actually been booked as we have no confidence if Harvey World Travel at all!

Congratulations Harvey World Travel for being the worst travel agent in existance and almost totally ruining the most precious day of my friends life. I will never use you again and highly recommend everyone else to steer clear!

Then when I told him about the photos and showed him the declined passport application and photos, he pointed to a very small piece of paper that had a message on it(right next to where they took the passport photos). The message read something to the effect of our passport photos may not be good enough quality for the passport office. So why do they take them there then? When I queried the man again he told me to get out of his shop and I think I left swearing at him.

OK – Fares and accomodation rates are decent, however flight centre is better when it comes to specials. They had enough staff to cope with the days demand and treated the customer well. Bad communication however, I have contacted them a few times to ask about specials and had no reply or response. Flight Centre is much better. Staff are helpful. Bad communication.

We had to get reimbursed from him when we got home.:( The travel specials are great. We had a lot of trouble on our Europe trip because of HWT.

Think customers are idiots – Asked for a quote for car hire & hotel accommodation. The quote for car hire came in 267% higher than anywhere else! accommodation came in 158% higher. "As stated in my last email, the prices we have are different to those online.

For example, if you decide to buy a set saucepans eg Scanpan, you can go online and check out the cost of a set of saucepans on the Scanpan website.

They are $399.00 - excellent price. Compare that with Victoria's Basement - price is $420.00 - not as cheap. However, you have a $250.00 Myer gift card you want to use as payment or part payment.The cost at Myer store is $499.99 - $100.00 dearer than Scanpan themselves and $79.00 more expensive than Victoria's basement.

Can you use the Myer voucher anywhere else? Is Myer going to honour the scanpan price?

We are a retail travel outlet selling products and services for many different brands and suppliers, likewise, Myer is a department store for many different brands.

In order to be able to pre-pay services and cover ourselves under TCF, we need to book everything through a wholesale company or supplier that is affiliated toCATO, AFTA or other industry association - at the best price we can buy, which will include a retail margin. We do not have to match an online website, but do have to offer the customer value and under no circumstances, get the attention of the ACCC.

requested, deck etc... did all the work for them, walked in and paid in full cash on the spot. What we got for our money to date is 1 phone call and a plastic yellow sleeve with our eticket. Our room number has been released and they have NOT yet even called us tell us our room number! Lucky for the P&O personalizer.

Terrible – don't ever go there for travel advise ,especially their branch in Belconnen in Canberra. according to the service assistant customer doesn't have any say about their rates even if there are better quotes in the web too. nice advertisements of their products. the worst horrible ill-mannered unprofessional ever seen in a similar setting.

Excellent – If you want consultants who really care for your needs, have many years of experience travelling and experience as travel agents. Unlike other agencies, these people really have time for you if you want great service not just a cheap flight with nothing else, they really put together great holidays. Consultants have time to help me and time to talk when I call and ask questions. Great prices too. There are none.

OK – I have no idea why 2 Harvey World Travel agents from 2 locations quoted me very different ticket prices. I went to the one in Werribee which offered me cheaper flights, and had excellent customer service. They were very accomodating to our holiday plan changes. Great customer service the flights are not as cheap as some other travel agents.

then she was transferred to Edgeworth and thats when it all went downhill from there. They didn't inform us of a change of cruise ship as P&O advised they should have. The P&O website wasn't working so we advised a very rude older lady and she treated us like crap and thought we were dumb. So she tried herself on the website and had the same problem and didn't apologise for her rudeness. Their letter is full of mistakes including wrong booking number which caused problems and their adding up leaves a lot to be desired.

a competitor a price match can be easily done (i.e. EasyCruises.com.au offered me a price match option if I'd found a cheaper price).

All in all it wasn't nice to see a page loaded with the error sign in your IE and to ask passengers for credit card details it's just too risky, my trip didn't turn out that well either because they took a long time to send confirmations and tickets. Has cruises onlinw (ozcruising.com.au) Poorly built website - clearly not a professional reservation website - lack of service - false and misleading prices

person. I would defiantly recommend using them again for any type of information and booking to do with cruises. They kept us informed the whole time we were waiting on tickets and gave us regular updates. Even when there was an issue with the transfer of money for the booking, they went out of their way to assist us in getting it completed correctly. Definatly reccomend tehm. Always friendly no matter how many times I go in there and ask about the same thing. Very small shop so it can get a little crowded at times and there is no where to sit if you are waiting for help
