Badly flooding product where roof plumbing was inferior – Cost was very high at $26,000 for a verandah roof. I was made to pay the scaffolding fee separately half way through project. Team did not clean up initially and left all the old gutter in my backyard. Left numerous rivets and screws on porch and all around construction. overflow when raining. Only installed a minimal 90mm drain starter and outlet to the enormous box gutter, causing flooding to veranda. On complaining about the tiny downpipe on essentially a commercial box gutter 200mm wide and 300mm deep, the construction manager’s answer was to clean the unreachable gutter more. He would not come to the party to provide a plumbers recommendation of a 150mm starter and downpipe. See photos of regular flooding each time it rains. Hicrafts builders and designers did not comply with box gutter standards where the velocity of rainwater on colorbond sheets is very fast. Originally they were about to install a tiny 80mm starter and downpipe- it was only through arguing I got a 90mm residential lightweight downpipe. I asked for a minimum of 100mm but the construction manager would not allow it. The team at HiCraft are NOT roof plumbers and did not provide adequate downpipes. Consequently my underneath garage has flooded from the overflow and everything on my porch is waterlogged and ruined. I have had to engage a commercial plumber to install the correct sized downpipe. If there is a problem with your HiCraft construction, be warned they will walk away from you and balk at the cost of any repairs.

that reason I have added a star back as there did i fact seem to be a desire to provide good customer care. The work is to be rectified shortly and pending the outcome of that job I will finalise this post.

The final work is of good standard. Took a while to get there but at least it did.

Signed up with them on May 2020 for a job designed, scoped and priced as agreed in the contract.
Job was delayed quite a bit. Expectation was that it would be done by mid to late June to early July but ended up being early August. Blame was on the glass manufacturer.
Involved to two days work on site on separate days. By the end of the first day, 80% of the contract amount was paid. By the end of the second day, saw that the final product was not what we asked for as clearly shown in a contract.
Two day job by one person is clearly not a big job but it cost five figures ($15k) and was not done to design. I raised this as an issue and was told it couldn't be done any other way, ie the original design was not possible. Nobody took responsibility for telling us this at the end of that process, not before.
Upon enquiring further I was told the job was actually possible under the original design but it will cost extra to do it. That is, It will cost extra to follow through with an originally agreed contract.
I have tried to hear them out and get to a sensible outcome. However I was asked to pay the final payment first so that's when I felt like I was being stuffed around.
I have seen some good reviews here so perhaps it is that I have been unlucky. But for what seemed a simple two day job that cost $15k, would I take that gamble again? I would not.
To be fair the on site work product seems sound. Quality of products seem OK too. It is just not what we agreed to build and pay for, that's all. And that a suggestion was put to us that we should pay to bring it back to the original contract even though it was actually possible from the beginning.
I don't feel like there had been transparency in the process therefore I would give one star for the overall experience. Every time I look at what's been built, it stresses me out and upsets me so the experience to me was not pleasant.

to see what they have to offer. No long after that, we got a visit from Hi-Craft’s Design Consultant, Johnny, for a free measure and quote. Johnny took on board my ideas and needs, addressed my concerns and came up with suggestions to accommodate my request. Then came Daniel (Project Manager) who was very specific with his measurements, carefully checking and double checking it against the plan to ensure it is all correct. Daniel also kept me informed of the ins and outs at different stages of the project, from go to whoa. I was also at the same time liaising with the Planning Officer, Adam, who handled the Council Development Application. Adam very patiently attended to all my queries and educated me on the ever so confusing Council DA process. The deck building was led by Ian, who together with his team were precise and methodical in their approach. Not only were they always on time, they also kept the place clean after they finished for the day. They did a superb job!! Then came the person who very impressively installed the roof single-handedly, and finally the railings installer who made sure the balustrades and handrails were in pristine condition when installed. I must add, the materials used to build my deck are of high quality which is reflected in the finished product. I was also pleased that the steel used is Australian and not imported steel. The price is premium but you get what you pay for. To me, the team at Hi-Craft operated like a well-oiled machine, working together in synergy with the aim of creating a positive experience for me and my partner. We now have a beautiful deck to enjoy come rain or shine. I am very happy with Hi-Craft and gladly recommend this company to people needing quality home improvements.

September 12th 2019 Update: A custom Carport!
After looking around at a variety of places, we can across Highcraft and seemed impressed with the display at the shop. We had a appointment with Johnny at our place and I expressed what I wanted. He was more than happy to take on board what I wanted in regards for shade for my backyard verandah and front carport. He was very approachable and a great salesman. Project manager Norm was very helpful and answered any questions that I had. I would recommend this company to anyone who wants a carport.

Our Verandah over 5 Metres in the air – My wife wanted a Verandah it took a long time to think about what we actually wanted, we got quotes off different builders but we weren’t happy with their recommendations (build it out of wood). Camelia in the office, and, of course with Ben who builds the vision into life, and his team, all processes have worked seamlessly. I have no experience in construction and dealing with Local Councils can seem slow and at times worrying, but the experienced Team at Hi-Craft guided me through all the processes. The rear garden of my seventies timewarp was crying out for a deck and without doubt this lovely construction has given my home a new lease of life. Would I recommend and use Hi-Craft again?
