Cat Netting gone wrong
[Name Removed] from Hire A Hubby was hired on January the 10th 2021 and his quote of $3595.63 + $300 asked for at a later date was paid in full to make 4 colorbond gates and to install cat netting to both sides of my house. This job took a total of 18 weeks and I am very disappointed not only in the finished job but the amount of time it took. Two thirds of the way through this job I contacted [Name Removed] to intervene as I had become frustrated by the lack of communication from [Name Removed] and the lack of work being done on my job. [Name ...Removed] discussed a few options with me and one of those options was to meet [Name Removed] at my home and assist him in completing my job. There was a day where [Name Removed] messaged me to confirm that I would be available that day for him to come around and do some work on my job, I have to say I was so angry with him at this point I didn't answer his text message so he never turned up. I actually messaged him the next night and told him he was sacked, I then found out after all this time that he had not included his time in my quote so all I was paying for was materials, this would have been extremely handy to know at the start of my job, then I may have shown more patience but not being aware of this I assumed my job would be completed in a timely, professional manner which was not the case. The day they completed my job I came home and cried. I rang [Name Removed] to ask him why they had left such a bad completion and I was told "the job is adequate and no more time will be spent on it" I contacted 3 cat netting companies and two out of 3 of them advised me to take [Name Removed] and Hire a Hubby to Fair Trading as the job was so poorly done. I hired [Name Removed] who owns CatWorks Pet Enclosures to "fix" the job that [Name Removed] had done. [Name Removed] not only fixed the poor install that [Name Removed] had done, he also contacted [Name Removed] and offered to meet him at my home to discuss the poor workmanship of my job, [Name Removed] declined his offer. [Name Removed] then offered to run a free workshop to show [Name Removed]l/Hire a Hubby how to install quality cat netting and again his offer was declined. The total to fix my job was $2,444.39 and when you remember that I've already paid $3895.63 that means I've paid a total of $6,340.02 so you can imagine my despair. My cats mean everything to me and to be told by [Name Removed] that an adequate job had been done was insulting to me as there were gaps everywhere, gaps large enough for my cats to be able to escape so what was the point of paying what I did when the end result meant my cats could still escape? As you can see by the photos the job done by [Name Removed] was not up to Australian Standards in any shape or form. The Before photos are the work of [Name Removed], the After photos are the work of [Name Removed] @ CatWorks. I believe I have a very strong case to take to Fair Trading and this is definitely something I will consider as Hire A Hubby & [Name Removed] should never attempt Cat Netting ever again.
Paul and his team have demonstrated exemplary service in skills, knowledge and professionalism in completing a range of works for our Preschool. We have used Paul on a few occasions this year and each time Paul went above and beyond in ensuring they were completed on time, with exceptional attention to detail. Paul is a great communicator clearly explaining what he can do, how long it will take and a gives fair guidance for approximate fees, which is always very reasonable. He will help problem solve any questions you may have and shows great acumen for getting the job done. I can't rate him highly enough and will only trust Paul for anymore future works we need.
Hire a Hubby Indooroopilly - Excellent work done and staff are amazing
Needed art hung, drawers made and installed in wardrobes and additional storage throughout the house. Mario was on time, an excellent tradesman and a fantastic problem solver. Work done and Communication throughout has been first class.
Worth The Wait!
From the start Andy (Hire A Hubby Henley Beach) has been a great communicator about his availability to do the work we requested. When he called to our home to have a look and quote, he was also provided great advice on what we needed done. Andy has now completed the job and the quality and care of his work is excellent. His attention to detail is high and he is also a really friendly person. As a result of this first class experience we are now working with Andy on some additional projects. We are so happy to have found Andy, someone we can confidently work with in the future.
Excellent service from start to finish
Excellent communication with Bryan in Goulburn and tradie Bobby was the best. On time, courteous, careful, highly skilled and attentive to every detail. Will definitely use again. A variety of jobs skillfully done.
Providing feedback about my terrible experience with Hire A Hubby Preston, Victoria. Tradesperson [Name Removed] attended our home to inspect several jobs on Saturday, May 15. [Name Removed] assured us he would send quote by the next Monday, however that didn't eventuate. I waited patiently and also attempted to follow up with [Name Removed] a couple of weeks later (on May 26), however he didn't respond. It's now been over six weeks and I never received the courtesy of a reply/update or a quote from [Name Removed]. If this is how Hire A Hubby p...rides itself on doing business, then it's simply unacceptable. I hope your company has better luck contacting [Name Removed] and reminding him about the importance of communication and customer service, as he has failed to positively represent the Hire A Hubby network. Extremely poor service and I won't be recommending Hire A Hubby.
A perfect hat trick
My hire a hubby was fabulous he is a jack of all trades, Sam landscaped our front yard cut down trees and put up a great slat fence, we were extremely happy with his work. I would definitely recommend him to family and friends

Pleased with the outcome as this had to be redone as previous tiler , last year , did a really unsatisfactory job. I will hire them for all my jobs from now on
Exceeded our expectations
My wife and I recently moved to Uralla and were after a handyman to carry out tasks on a residence that we are soon to turn into a Bed and Breakfast.
Hire a Hubby was recommended by a local and I was soon in contact with Alison.
Alison has been fantastic from the start to finish of this project and Michael’s handyman work on many facets of this project, was simply professional, timely and a total pleasure to deal with. The end product well and truly met and exceeded our expectations.
We have since booked Michael to carry out further works on...our main residence and we can see that we will continue to use his and Alison’s services over many more years to come. We highly recommend Michael and Alison on any handyman project that you may be considering.
The Perfect Hubby
I had Charlie from Frankston Hire a Hubby repair and fix up a lot of things around my house - nothing was too difficult for him. From start to finish I found Charlie to be professional and his work was excellent and he left everything clean. I am recommending Charlie as the perfect Hubby:)
The Tradie who helped

But then we found James he took all my stress away . His work was fantastic considering with what he had to fix up
His work was exceptional could not fault him.
Very friendly and very Professional and Experienced. THANK YOU JAMES
I contacted them online. They texted me and said that they accepted your enquiry and will be in touch soon. I waited for a response. Never got a response, they delayed my time Unprofessional service. If they couldn't do the job. They should've let me know. I would not recommend this service.
JOB WELL DONE
Daniel from Hire A Hubby Marrickville answered the call to carry out a fiddly bathroom tiling job. It required several hours work per day over 3 days. Daniel is very polite and calm. He did an excellent job and cleaned up meticulously each day. While Daniel was here, he worked out how to rectify another small issue (non related). I am very happy with his work.
Very happy with the service provided by Hire a Hubby. Ian was very professional, reliable and did an amazing job. I couldn't be happier with the end result. Highly recommend!
Questions & Answers
What is an average rate charged? I was charged $117/hr for some simple handyman jobs. This is rediculous to me? Does this sound right?
Thank you for reaching out to Hire A Hubby.
Each of our franchisees are individual owners of their business. As such I can't give you an hourly or average rate because each franchisee provides a quote for individual jobs. Effort to fix some loose table legs and change a change a pop up vanity plug to a standard plug. Only material needed was a new standard plug for $7. What should I expect in labour?
Did you use one of our Hubby Franchisees or someone else? I can only suggest you ask for an itemised bill and query it with whom provided the work.
