Jim's Handyman

my experience with John McDermott (a franchisee) did some wall plaster restoration work and has been fabulous- John was quick, courteous, efficient, meticulous and realistic with my renovation project. The quality of his work so far has been very impressive and I would absolutely recommend his services to others.

Poor standard of workmanship provided during the installation of my safe. I specifically requested that the safe be installed inside my cupboard and securely fixed in with four Dynabolts (two in the floor & two in the wall studs). safe was partially removed, leaving an uneven surface, and there is a significant gap between the rear of the safe and the wall due to the floor dynabolts being installed incorrectly. One timber screw appears to have been used through the rear of the safe rather than the provided Dynabolts. As a result, the safe is unstable and noticeably wobbles when touched. As this is not compliant with regulations I am now required to install safe elsewhere and replace carpet.

Ben Guard from Northlake near Perth worked for 2 1/2 days clearing our garden, fixed our reticulation, painted stains in our ceiling, cleared plants, etc. He even hired a skip bin for all of the junk. We are very pleased with all he did. He is very pleasant and competent and I would highly recommend him

Robert attached a pool fence end to a boundary fence, expertly. He assessed the job and quickly returned with the correct fittings to make the fencing secure. Would definitely recommend him.

We just had John come down to our place here in Chatswood, quick, well spoken, efficient and a good decent worker. Happy to recommend him or have him do any more work if needed again.

a bloke with an unprenouncible name (you don't get a choice) when he contacted me, I sent photos of small fireplace and cabinet as requested, told him it was a simple job to cut the back of the cabinet to fit. I didn't ask for a sculpture. After a few hours, he texted "I'm not a handyman" Leo provides a quote over $300 plus GST. I questioned this, was less than impressed as I had a budget of $150. Then a bizarre tirade of abuse, Leo told me he was in fact a University graduate, on television, a high style technician and hated white attitudes! I kid you not. He texted me to expect an 8 minute lightfitting to cost $250 and told me I was, in effect, cheap. I said I'm not in the habit of throwing money at people for simple jobs. I sent his tirade to Jim's. But I DO think Jim's is very much at fault by associating with people who are unprofessional, greedy and quite comfortable with texting lengthy abuse - all of Leo's abusive texts calling me every name under the sun, came from AI. I said honestly, I despised the attitudes of greed brought into this country. In short, go elsewhere. You are a sitting duck for anyone Jim thinks is OK to abuse you.

Second time getting unwanted calls from Jim's – Another Jim's franchise had previously spammed my phone quite aggressively. I gave them another shot, asked specifically for them to use email due to my number being spammed, I gave my email in the form for a quote and I immediately get an SMS saying they'll call me. anybody." Um, YES YOU DO: you work for a franchise that SUX. Don't put your "shortman" syndrome insecurities on to others. We were all shocked by his attitude and behaviour (caught on camera) and were left very inconvenienced. Extremely rude, disrespecful, unprofessional. I often use Jims for domestic services and have always been pleased with the work done by the guys they send out. I used Ronnie for some handyman jobs and he did a great job completing a list of odd jobs very efficiently

Jim’s Handyman were unable to provide a franchisee but recommended Hamid Reza. Hamid attended our home on time to provide a quote but ended up doing the three small jobs we needed done.He was very pleasant and accommodating and did the work quickly and efficiently .We have no hesitation in recommending him for future work. Kieron did an excellent job replacing beading inside porch. Painted the beading, was careful to put a drop sheet down in case of spillage, and swept up afterwards. Also did two door repairs. Recommend. I will use again.

Excellent Carpentry – Vaea and Lia, a father and son team, from Jim's Handyman services, are one of the best, if not the best Carpentry team in Melbourne. They are extremely polite, courteous and above all, so, so professional. There workmanship is second to none. The strive for excellence and perfection. They have saved my internal stairs and house from dry rot, in Greensborough, caused by termites several years ago. Thanks Guys.
