I recently had to renew my 30 year old evaporative cooler . Contacted Homefirst on Thursday morning and installation was completed on Friday afternoon . First class service from the receptionist, Ferris (not sure of the spelling) and installers Alec and Brandon . No hesitation in recommending this Company .

Incredibly overpriced, the company that came was 181 Electrical, I imagine going through HomeFirst has doubled the price. To service 1 evap cooling unit (probably 2 hours labour) and replace two valves, they have charged $3800. Seriously regretting our decision to go with this company.

Just money making business, they will give you highly expensive repair quote even if their is a minor issue, I fixed my heater just by restarting my main switch board for which they gave me 2500 AUD repair quote.. isn't this cheating?

Consistant great service – Since installation of two Samsung reverse cycle fully ducted units to service our two storey home 18 months ago, there have been issues with performance. However, each time we have called ComfyFirst technicians, the response has been absolutely excellent. Prompt, on time and pleasant service by all technicians. people are on a league of their own. Josh Bentley, Dylan and Aaron and many of the others couldn't do enough for us. They all took time to ensure we were satisfied with their work and gave clear explanations as to what work had been carried out. Same with the office staff.......very courteous and understanding. It has been a real pleasure dealing with your company and will highly recommend your company to anyone wanting outstanding service. My wife and I will definitely use your company in the future. Made the day delightful! – We did not expect such a fast response. Details of our electrical issue were explained in easy to understand language and included repair options, with instant quotes. We chose the best solution for us. Technicians were polite, friendly and efficient. Thank you for making a bad and worrying situation a delightful experience to repair.

Fabulous – The whole process was seamless with firstly Kyle coming out assessing our situation and quoting the work to Deon and Conner doing a marvelous job. We are overall very happy with both the new ducted heating and servicing of our old air conditioner. The boys presented themselves well, were on time and very professional Show details

Delivered what was promised, very happy! – We called HomeFirst on the Monday for a broken ducted heating service and a new split system ducted a/c & heater was installed in a matter of days. The whole process was easy. Their staff helped arrange the subsidies for decommissioning the old gas unit and helped arrange interest-free finance as well. WARNING TO ANY POTENTIAL CLIENTS OF HOMEFIRST – One year ago I had an air conditioner installed by this company. Unbelievably, they failed to unfurl the drainage tube which resulted in flooding and almost immediate warping of skirting boards. I was assured someone would be out to fix the floor the following week. A workman came, ripped up the warped skirting boards but refused to lift the… Read more

laminate flooring to check for pooled water/mould saying it was ‘too big a job.’ ONE YEAR LATER the broken skirting boards remain where the workman left them and I have an unsightly gap between floor and wall. Being a carer for my disabled father I do not have the funds to rectify this and why should I ? This damage was a result of their incompetence ! ALSO interesting to note that when installing the unit the electrician actually cut the wrong wires in the fuse box resulting in loss of power. I had to call him to come back and rectify this as he had already hurriedly left the site. I have serious concerns as to whether these people have the necessary qualifications to operate such a business. HOMEFIRST DID NOT display the necessary degree of care and skill required by Australian Consumer Law or expected by me. I STRONGLY DISCOURAGE anyone from using HOMEFIRST. They deserve A ZERO RATING. THEY ARE THE WORST ! Save your money (did I mention they charged $6000 dollars ?) and the endless aggravation and engage the services of a reputable and properly qualified company. HOMEFIRST IS THE WORST !

Exorbitant Service Charges – Split system was leaking from outside unit. Called Homefirst for a quote. Who, I thought was a service technician, turned out to be a pushy sales rep came to inspect the system. Told me my unit was very old and I should probably replace it. Gave me a quote for $1238 to have it serviced. As I was desperate to get the unit repaired I accepted the… Read more

quote and paid the deposit. Actual service technician came and all the unit needed was a service. Was told the water dripping is normal. I cannot believe this company can charge vulnerable people such exorbitant prices. Only wish I had checked out the reviews before engaging them to do the work. I must say the service technician who came out was excellent with his work and this is no reflection on him. As a final point of interest the sales rep tried to talk me into getting my hydronic heating serviced at a cost of $2,343. Normal service for this is around $500. Also quoted $1739 to service my hot water system. Be very careful before accepting any quotes from this company.

Overpriced dishonest sales – Initial experience with tradesperson inspecting my AC seemed great, however he confirmed a simple fault that my unit needed to be re-gassed, then said actually no the whole unit needs to be replaced. He quoted three quotes between $6000 to $7000 to remove the existing unit and supply and install a new unit. Naturally, I shopped around only to… Read more

find that 2 other companies quoted only $3500, and another $2600. I had one of these companies come and inspect, only to further find out my existing unit only had a simple leak in one of the connections that just needed to be fixed. My aircon has now been fixed for $700 and is working good as new. It is clear that Comfy First / Home First Services only want to get money from the customer and keep their business going without any genuine and honest service to the consumer.

The worst cowboy outfit ever….long story – Seriously overcharged, damaged my roof without telling me, installed the wrong heater TWICE, thermostat is totally inaccurate (second one is still inaccurate) and a lack of communication. Only when I sought legal advice through civil law did they replace the first job only to stuff it up again with installing the same poor branded system with… Read more

another reputable one they promised to deliver. Promised Braemar…again got Bonaire. The company general manager who attended my residence on 9 August, offered to reimburse me in FULL and take out their “works”, which I agreed to. After that, they denied offering me that. Best offer was replacing the heater with a higher star rating with a new 4 star Braemar system, instead of the 3 star Bonaire they installed, which I reluctantly agreed to. The new general manager told me that they have a strong relationship with Bonaire, which I did not want. So they buy in bulk, save a lot of stock cost without passing it on to the consumer. The second replacement was to be a Braemar system….I have this in writing and the new general manager told me that he overlooked the email their company sent to me, promising that. So I need to suck that up? Steer clear of this company. Just an awful, anxious and distressing experience. Had I not kept contacting them about the issues they promised to fix, including installing a better heater, I would have heard nothing. Nothing. And emailed me into another email trail of complaint from another customer…total breach of privacy! For me, they quoted a heater replacement install and duct replacement including labour and GST which invoiced (apparently) charges for car, petrol, etags, office work and company profit. That was definitely not detailed in the initial job agreement. Subsequently, these charges included $250 for etags, petrol and car ( plus GST), $245 office cost (plus GST), company profit $600 (plus GST). I only knew about these extra charges when I asked several times for an invoice breakdown after the first installation was done. This is on top of of the heater, new ducting, labour plus GST on all of those charges! Just disgraceful as the initial quote did NOT break down those charges. I paid around $7000 for this job and had other quotes from reputable companies for the same works at $4500. They keep telling me I was aware of the breakdown of costs when I signed up. That is a total lie. All you get is “sorry…but we need to make a profit”. As an older single woman, living alone, I foolishly trusted them. They have since paid me $765 this week to “compensate” for the roof damage and the cost difference between an Australian made product (Braemar) and their relationship with Bonaire. Nowhere near the $2000-$2500 they overcharged me. And of course, I lost wages taking days off for this company to come to my residence twice. I have other company quotes for other reputable companies why quoted less, around $4000-$4500, which I sent as evidence, their response? “Well they won’t be in business for long” however these companies have been in business for 20+ years and still operating…. Don’t make the same mistake I did. And chasing up the latest certificate of compliance? Again today, 3 November 2023, I had to email the general manager to request the certificate of compliance they did not send…got it within an hour tonight. Another fib saying they had previously sent it to me in the past few days. Not true. That should have been issued without me again chasing this company up yet again! Cowboy company and further legal action is in the works. Thank goodness for screenshots of all of the dialogue between me and ComfyFirst.

Hugely inflated prices. Be careful to get other quotes – They seem to be roughly 3x the price of other providers. I asked them to service my 4 split systems. not included. I looked up my last service which was done by another company and they had charged me $520.

Given the price difference I said I didn't want to go ahead with the split system service. I asked him how much to run a line to the garage to charge my electric vehicle. he quoted $3000. I got 2 other quotes, one came in at $1100 the other at $1150.

Because I didn't go ahead with ComfyFirst on the spot he said he would have to charge me for the quote call out at $79. The so called 'free quote' on their website is only free if you go ahead with the job.

Ridiculous prices quoted – 2K quoted for routine service of 4 standard split systems. normally I would pay no more than $500 - $600. They also charge a $70 fee for quoting

Comfy provided a wrong heater doesn't fit my flue and refused to take it back/refund – On 14 June, I purchased and installed a new Brivis heater from Comfyfirst after comfyfirst's technician inspected my house condition. lodged a warranty to Brivis. On 17 Aug, Brivis technician inspected and advised the heater's flue doesn't fit my house's existing flue. Then Comfyfirst sent technician changed heater's flue. Between August 2022- Feb 2023 , this heater was repaired another 3 times including a visit from Brivis technician. On 7 April 2023, an appointment was booked with Comfyfirst's senior manager to discuss return and refund but no one turned up. On 11 April 2023, another senior manager (according to the Comfyfirst, the booked senior manager who promised to take the heater back and issue refund will be on another "big project" for next 3 months) was rescheduled for 14 April . In conclusion, no heater for my last winter although a brand new heater was purchased from ComfyFirst. Comfyfirst has sent a lot of techs and still keep sending techs to undertaking "repairing and investigation" though Brivis tech clearly advised the Heater WILL NOT fit my house' existing flue and could cause serious accident if heater is running with incorrect flue. And the heater is still not working and Comfyfirst refused to take the heater back to exchange or issue refund.

Excellent company to deal with – Comfy first came to my rescue in relation to the installation of 2 reverse cycle aircons. It was pretty incredible actually. Thanks Josh and thanks to "all" of them for a magnificent effort.

A terrific job! – Brendan did a fantastic job of servicing our Daikin VRV heating and cooling system throughout our apartment. It was the system’s first major service. He completely cleaned and flushed the 3 indoor units and filters. The outdoor unit also had a major service and check. Finally he went through the test procedure and commission. All was working perfectly. Thank you Brendan. Helen

was able to fit us in the following week, and he did a really great job. Or previous system was really old, but his positive, happy attitude was great, he made it all seem so simple. He even apologised for it taking longer due to the extra requirements of removing and replacing our very old, hard wired system, it was actually still much quicker than I expected. We have had our new system nearly a month now, and it's just fantastic! Even on the high 30 degree days, we are kept nice and cool. We didn't realise how inefficient our old system was. Ben and his team were just fantastic, highly recommended!
