3 Caitlyn  · It does the job but is so incredibly loud I’m sure my neighbors wonder what I’m doing. Good purchase if you’re hard of hearing.
1 Gus  · Only max 7 mins of mixing – Just read instructions. Can mix for 7 mins max and to wait for 20 mins before resuming mix.
4 Ghoul  · still works 5 years later – bought this well over 5 years ago because i got into baking. i still use it and it still works fine!
1 kath Martin  · Homemaker Mixer – my mixer is just an ordiment when i useed it it didnt get the butter off the bottom so i couldnt cream the butter and sugar not good at all

Price and quality are both great for what you get. Unfortunately, I make a lot of bread, and bought it in the hope I could use a mixer instead of kneading the dough myself. As for dough kneading, this mixer simply cannot cope - even with standard bakers flour. And if you use finer flour like Spelt, (as I often do), you risk breaking it very… Read more ·  1

quickly.

Great value if you make cakes, batters, sauces etc, but don’t try kneading dough in it. My view is they should drop the dough hook altogether and just advertise it as a cake mixer. If you need a serious dough mixer you’re going to have to spend a lot more money. Me? I’ve gone back to kneading my dough by hand.

I am so disappointed in this mixer. Brought it last week and used it for the first time yesterday. Wouldn't cream butter & sugar because the beater doesn't reach the bottom of the bowl, and didn't really mix other ingredients that well either. Would really like to return it Show details

The lights don’t come on. The beaters don’t reach the bottom of stainless steel bowl to make meringues. The dough hook when making scones does not reach sides of bowl and so mixture has to be mixed with a knife. It is impossible to read numbers on dial…just hit and miss! So disappointed because I have so many Anko products in my home. What to do… Read more

A few [Content Removed] in these reviews. Absolutely love my stand mixer. It is well worth the money. I saw a review on YouTube on a very similar mixer and the dough hook doesn't pick up mixture from the bottom of the bowl. Well mine does better than a good job. Yes it's no kitchenaid but it's at a tenth of the price. It make my meringue… Read more ·  1

beautifully. No more mixing with my hand mixer for 20 minutes. This takes about 7 to disolve the sugar! You need to lift the mixer and scrape the bowl with a spatula to mix properly once for cake mixture or pancake mixture but that's a small flaw for such a great machine. My advice. Buy it!

cheap, efficient and pretty good value – Ok, we've had ours for a year or so now and are happy with it. You do need to scrape down the bowl often (but that's what you should be doing anyhow). The dough hook is ok but it does struggle at times and certainly is not designed for hard kneading. The whisk is great, makes chantilly cream perfectly. My issue is this: the "clip" (is it?)… Read more

that holds the mixer down into place broke so now we have to stand over it and hold it down ourselves. I can't find my receipt, so taking it back to the store we bought it from is not going to happen.

For $69 it is definitely worth every cent. I will buy another one and highly recommend it if you don't want to spend a fortune on Kenwood or KitchenAid.

Good for first timers only – Bowl beaters do not reach bottom of the bowl and to mix at bottom you need to push it slightly at the top till the bottom. The push button to put up the beaters sticks and hard to get up. Good for a first learners bake bowl but doesn't last. It is making awful grinding sounds at 6 months .

Leaks black substance into dough – only used this mixer couple of times, but both times it leaked black substance into the dough, went to Kmart but they refused to replace or fix it, because it is out of one year warranty apparently. Show details

Noisy Faulty Product – Very noisy machine, occasionally used but headlift interlock was broken within 14months, kmart only provides 1 year warranty and has no maintenance service. Will not recommend this product.

Leaves something to be desired – I purchased this earlier in the year as I was doing a lot of baking and wanted something to speed up the process. This did the opposite of that. The attachments don't reach the bottom of the bowl so you constantly have to stop the machine and scrape the ingredients from the bottom of the bowl so that they're properly mixed. It's absolutely… Read more

horrible at whipping soft butter, I'd rather do it by hand. It makes a decent whipped cream but takes a long time. I will be upgrading to a more reliable brand.

Attachments are not effective – Attachment whilst they mix, next to useless as they don't scrap down the sides so sometimes doesn't touch the ingredients. Waste time having to continuously scrap down the sides manually. Kmart should spend that extra dollar and include a flex edge paddle attachment. You'd increase your product productivity 100%. Motor performance is good so far. Mixing bowl is a great size. Overall ok, but definitely can be much better. Show details

Disappointing!! – Was happy with this product when I first purchased it less than a year ago to replace a 20 year old Kenwood Chef. However now it has just stopped working. I can't find the receipt so can't return it. I should have spent a bit more and bought another Kenwood. Show details

You cannot knead dough with the dough hook – I made a batch of dough and the machine shakes , vibrates, and cannot knead the dough. More energy is being spread through the machine instead of into the dough hook. Super disappointed I spent 79.00 of my money of this . It is junk Show details

Ineffective, not recommended – I have found that none of the attachments reach the sides or bottom of the bowl sufficiently to incorporate all ingredients. Maximum power is slow and ineffective. I was really disappointed with this mixer and if I hadn't already thrown the box away, would have returned it for a refund. Overall I think it is money wasted.  Show details

Please do not waste money – I had Kmarts bench mixer earlier so when it broke down after 4-5 years I bought another Kmart one. I'm sorely disappointed. It doesn't scrape the sides the attachment just move inside and we are left to continuously scrape the bowl. The motor is alright compared to previous one. Please do not waste money on this product. Show details

Great for cakes... Wouldn't recommend for doughs – 14 month lifespan using this once a week. I love the look and it's super lightweight... which is perfect if you're storing it away out of sight. So easy to move. Generally I used it for cakes and cookies but used twice to make bread and the motor couldn't handle it. I should have known as I had to hold it down while kneeding .. it was jumping all… Read more

over the place. Loved it for everything else. Unfortunate that the motor can't handle anything more than whipping eggs now without 'slipping'. AND it did this 2 months out of warranty. I'd recommend buying a more robust machine if you're a serious baker. Invest in the name brands.

May as well beat butter and sugar by hand - kmart anko bench mixer – How disappointing is the recently purchased KMART ANKO BENCH MIXER. I use mainly for cakes therefore creaming butter and sugar - end up beating by hand - dry ingredients stay at the bottom of bowl. Very disappointed. Show details

Thought it was ok until I tried to cream butter and sugar – For $69 I was originally impressed with the product. I purchased in April and have used 4 times. Useless for beating butter and sugar. It’s very easy to use and easy to clean which is good. Should of invested in a Kitchen aid after all. Show details

Taking it back tomorrow – Butter and sugar into bowl, started on slow, butter and sugar just turned to paste on the very bottom of bowl. Scraped it all up and started again. It misses the bottom of the bowl by about 1/4 cm. Total waste of time and petrol going back to Kmart. And I usually love everything from Kmart. Show details

Worth the price – Its not a super mixer, but for 69$ it will do a 150$ job. We bought it few weeks ago and it is certainly worth the price. Does not mix bottom ones very well. Show details

Works well – Ive had mine for a couple years now. Nothing has broken. Do need to scrap from edges more so than not to get an even mix. Dough hook isnt that great and bowl cant handle it (continues to slide out of place) other than that, works well. Show details

Anko Mixer – One of the paddles for the mixer Has completely broken and only had 6 months to use it. Better off getting a more expensive brand as this cheap one has not lasted long at all. Can’t even get a new part for it so it means will have to buy a new one. Not happy Show details

Cheap price and quality – Received this mixer about 5 years ago and have used it plenty of times. Very good value for its price but beware there are definitely compromises with the build quality. the dough. Can't complain too much as I have used it many times over the years. Overall would recommend if you don't bake regularly but need a cheap machine to sometimes whip up some cupcakes or something.

Affordable yet working well – The fact that it surprised me is it does the job well! This mixer does the perfect dough, of course be cautious (as it is for other bench mixer too) to put the ingredients in right proportion (including water). Else you mess with your own deeds! Anyways do not over expect it will bake for you. It is meant for preparing excellent dough (which it… Read more

does), and has been with me for a month now.

Motor performance is good.

For a descent family size and even for occasions, the capacity is enough.

Other attachments are excellent too, though I have not used so much.

Worst mixer I have ever had – I am not sure if it is the shape of the bowl but this mixer does not mix well. You have to keep scraping down the bowl as dry ingredients stay on the outer edge of the bowl. For example, if you need to mix a couple of eggs with some sugar for a cake you can't get it to the frothy stage. To try to whisk a couple egg whites you have to mix for so… Read more

long that the mixture goes past the point where you can use it and still not frothy. This morning I tried to mix a cake mix and after 15 minutes of mixing on high speed there were still lumps of butter in it (yes I used soften butter). A total disappointment.

Lasted only four years – I purchased this Bench Mixer in December 2013 from Kmart and it has worked very well up until a few months ago when the motor started making very strange sounds and eventually stopped working completely. the four years I owned it. I have now had in the past two months two Homemaker appliances break down completely well before I expected. It is sad that we live in a throw away society but this is what I have to do with this heap of junk - throw it away and buy a new one which I did at the Harvey Norman Black Friday sales and got a Sunbeam Mixmaster for only $195. I won't be buying Homemaker brand ever again!

Perfect Priced Mixer – This bench mixer from kmart is the best kitchen appliance I have ever brought. The mixer whips egg whites on high speed in a matter of minutes!
