Disappeared and no answers – I bought in person, in the store, and paid in full for a $2600 lounge on January 31st. Now the company has disappeared and I have commenced legals. My bank, linked to Credit Card has been notified and they have commenced a disputed claim for failure to deliver goods. Their ABN is not registered as in receivership. I will be pursuing them to have the merchant ID cancelled and anything else possible.

Scam, looks like we have lost $1,100 – We ordered 3 stools for $1,100 on 29th March and it is now 18th July 2015 with no contact received to state when they will be available. We are not able to access the website or call customer service. Our next steps are to report fraud to the Police and Department of Fair Trading. Previous reviews state that the company has moved and other customers have been impacted by a similar experience

Shame on the HomeQ – Shame on you [Name removed], [Name removed], [Name removed] and the rest of the 'HomeQ team'...shame!!! It is one thing to provide an aloof, sub-par shopping experience (we rate you 5 stars for that)... but outright lies and theft is another. Clearly you haven't received or have ignored the pile of emails, contact-forms and voice-mails we have… Read more

left you. So, just in case you are reading here at productreview.com.au, the musings of a long line of unhappy customers, this is the substance of our other messages: "you have taken $998 from us... please pay it back!". The Tolix table you delivered is not fit for purpose... the top has multiple splits and cracks and the table is one inch off level!... you agreed it wasn't fit for purpose and that you would fix it... but that hasn't happened. The Tolix chairs we paid for have never arrived... you told us 'delivered within 6 weeks', then 12, then 16... then on April 26 after you relocated your showroom premises... that's the showroom that disappeared! Maybe it's in Panama now, peddling 'replica watches'? It's a mild comfort that Fair Trading have told us they know all about the HomeQ experience and are 'looking for you'. I just wish I knew what your next trading name is / will be so I can tell everyone in my review... 'don't buy a thing from them'

Our furniture – I had a pleasant experience with Homeq. My husband and I had ordered a leather lounge plus 2 egg chairs and the little pony chair. After we ordered I was called to ask what colour legs I wanted for the sofa which was perfect because I wanted the lighter colour instead of the darker one. The girl was very friendly and said my order would start… Read more

production. I was emailed a few times with details. As we paid extra for the White glove delivery service I got the call a week before it was arriving to book it in. The day we got delivery we actually had a dinner party in that night so it was nice timing ! Our dinner party guests admired our new furniture especially the egg chairs, as they are pretty unique if you ask me! The sofa itself is really nice and comfortable. The pony chair isn't mine but my daughters and she is delighted with it. thank you to the team for a nice shopping experience.

Fantastic – Ordered two florence knoll lounges from homeq. I specified a golden yellow colour which they had available but not in stock. I was advised a 10 week wait by james the sales consultant. The order arrived a few days after the 10 week mark but the quality was excellent. Delivery guys did not complain about carrying them half a block around the house… Read more

Stupid scammer – I too am a victim of this company. I live in perth so it's much harder for me to find something that I like for our house. when we finally did we paid for our sofa in full and never heard from them again except that they are "relocating". I went to consumer protection but because they couldn't get hold of these criminals I had no case. Luckily I… Read more

I have found where Home Q has moved their stock – I am also a victim of home q's carnage... But, after much investigation (my father is a retired private investigator) I have now found the new company they have suckered into holding their goods for them... It is Westin Tristar Logistics, 327 Woodpark Rd, Smithfield NSW 2164. (02) 8787 5888. I believe Westin provide warehousing, handling and… Read more

distribution services for Home q. I am not sure what name home q are now operating under, but I am going to call Westin and say 'I am a customer and would like to collect my order, can I come pick it up?' And then hopefully they will drop the name somehow.. I am also passing on this information to the ATO and the administrators in the hopes they can catch these home q thieves. I wanted to first put this on here for all the home q customers who lost their hard earned money through this company's actions and I only hope it does someone some good...

Thieves and Liars – I purchased an armchair back in July 2014 and had contacted the company in March 2015 regarding a defect (the legs on my Womb Chair were rusting terribly)! My Horror Story had a happy ending – A bit late I know, but we had exactly the same experience with these people. Went to another replica furniture supplier in the same area who delivered in 8 weeks as promised.

FYI, during my attempts to contact these people their website had an email address for this person as the contact for furniture enquiries - a Marc Gibson at Strata Sense - funny thing, he wouldn't return any of my calls or emails and this was way before the collapse happened.....

Biggest scam ever!! – Similar to many people who have written reviews about Home Q in the last few months, my experience with this company has been the worst ever. I was told at the time of order it would take 6 to 8 weeks so when it was close to… Read more

the delivery time I rang Home Q to check on the progress and estimated delivery time. I couldn't reach them on the phone so I left several voices messages and no one called me back. I sent emails enquiries to both their email addresses and still no response from the company. I then came across this review website and found that there were other people sharing the same experience as myself. I contacted the Department of Fair Trading and lodged a complaint. They also tried contacting Home Q with no success. Department of Fair Trading also informed me that they have received many complaints from other customers of Home Q with the same experience as myself. I lodged a complaint with the NSW Civil & Administrative Tribunal but Home Q did not turn up at the hearing. I have now received an order to pay but the company has vacated their premises. There is no way of contacting these people... yet their website is still in operation and they are still taking orders!! The company is still registered as Q Retail Pty Ltd. I'm just about to contact ASIC to see if there is anything that can be done. I believe Home Q might have gone bankrupt. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!!!

Criminal behaviour – Last Feb I ordered and paid for a leather divan meant to be used for my very ill husband, which was promised for April 21st. retrospect, not very professional, and one comment during the last conversation with them sticks in my mind, they actually seemed incompetent. This is the first time I have ever been caught in any kind of scam and I buy goods on-line frequently. I find it extremely hard to believe that this has happened. It makes me feel sad reading all the other comments and yet this company is still trading on -line and people are still being duped. Why hasn't the law done anything about it, given all the complaints that have been made? What do we have to do to have this 'company' taken off line?

the end of April. So I said I'd wait. The end of April has now passed and I've been trying to get in touch with this company. The 02 phone numbers listed in their email are disconnected, I've sent emails that aren't being responded to, I've left multiple voice mails at their 1800 number listed on their website which goes straight to voicemail now without even ringing. HomeQ: thieves in denial? – We bought and paid a couch with a value of $6000. In February it was supposed to be delivered at our house but no response. ready for the couch to arrive. Unfortunately after this phone call a few weeks later the shop was gone and no one responded. Through some research I found out who the owners are of Q Retail (of which HomeQ is part). I contacted them through facebook without success and called one of them [Name removed] who is a publisher for a business website. At first he denied to have anything to do with the business but later confirmed he was no longer working there. I kept on sending messages on facebook and decided to comment on posts on the facebook page of HomeQ aus. After asking if the company was a scam I got an anonomous message that they were relocating to a different locating and delivery was to be expected after 29 April. For two days now I have tried to contact them without succes. I posted a comment on there facebook page which has been removed which clearly proofs they are aware of what is going on. For people who are interested I can supply more information about owners (through ACIC). Fair Trade and ACIC both did a credibility check and they did not file for bankruptcy. There website is still active and you can still buy furniture.

It is a shame since the service has been good and friendly when we bought our couch.

What is the best thing to do when you want your product? Commend on postings of HomeQ Aus facebook page asking if they are a scam.

Looks like I've lost my money – Ordered a chair months ago IN PERSON AT THE STORE. Thought at the time that the salesperson was totally disengaged but I wanted the chair I inspected and sat in. finally get my money back on the chairs that were not sent. I was promised a new chair for the badly made one and I am still waiting. You cannot get through to them as they don't talk on the phone anymore…that is what they said. To cut a very long story short (my dealings with this company spanned 7 months), they're very quick to take your money but fail to deliver on every front. Appalling timeframes and communication (5 months post order and I was the one trying to chase down a delivery date) and to add further insult to injury when my item finally arrived after threatening to cancel my order, it was of terrible quality. Wonky, cheap and uncomfortable. Definitely not worth the hundreds of $$ paid. And then I had to endure the terrible service and communication all over again to try and return the chair. A horrible experience which made me hate the furniture even more. In the end I just couldn't stand the shoddy furniture in my lounge room. An absolute disgrace.

Save yourself the $$ and hassle and buy elsewhere.

Is HomeQ still trading? – I have ordered 8 chairs in Feb, and wanted an update on delivery date but have not received a response (calls and emails) for more than two weeks. Worst service ever ! – We ordered 8 chairs that arrived with screws & parts that didn't fit. We call the office number 3 times every day & it's just a recorded message. We even drove back to the showroom who said they would have someone call us, but 3 months later we still have no chairs that can be put together ! We will be driving back again today & calling the department of fair trading. You can't do this sort of thing to customers, it's disgraceful.

Poor workmanship, misrepresent products, customer service lies, extended delays – I ordered a significant amount of furniture from HomeQ (7 different sofas/chairs) and was guaranteed a 6 week delivery. of their lies).

After unpacking the sofas we found that 2 of the lounges (poet sofa in grey/grey combo) were not grey! The fabric is a blue-grey and is nothing like the photo on their website. Customer service gave ridiculous responses after I sent photos of the sofas to them with a screenshot of what is on their website, and they claimed that lighting/screen resolution effects this - hahahaaa!! I have graphic design experience so I know that yes, those things CAN have an effect, but not like this (and having a physical example of the actual fabric proved they were wrong). The fabric on the photos is a stone-like mottled grey, whereas the fabric we received was a woolly, solid blue-grey. They were completely unhelpful, but what was I expecting? They'd lied to me for months about delivery dates and delays, and I was not surprised when their items turned up looking shoddy and missing products I'd ordered. NEVER USE THESE PEOPLE.

The customer service at HomeQ is awful, they are difficult to get a hold of and are very rude. When I inquired as to how they were going to rectify the sofas in the wrong fabric they said they could pick them up and refund the money but there would be a charge! I will be reporting them to FAIR TRADING because of their misrepresentation of products and their reprehensible service, the long delays and lies about delivery and their general inability to provide even average customer service.
