Bought it a couple of years ago.Loved it the first year but then it started getting clogged up. Sucked the dust in and spat out the fluff. Took it to Godfreys where I purchased it but their shop was shut (went into liquidation). Phoned Hoover using number on the vacuum cleaner. it. He said it was a Godfreys vacuum cleaner and they had gone into liquidation. He had no advice to give so I took it to a repair place and it seemed to go better for a couple of weeks but then the lower part clogged up again. Impossible to take it apart and no reverse so the fluff could be blown out. What a frustrating waste of money. I wont buy a Hoover anything again.

Perfect vacuum cleaner – I have had my hoover allergy free vacuum for 2 years, I use it everyday as I like the pattern on my carpet. It is amazing, there are settings to clean lounges, curtains, carpets, tiles and floorboards and the hoover cleans all those surfaces perfectly! Suction is amazing, highly recommended. Easy to store. Cant live without it! – I previously owed a Dyson, i loved it but sick of the battery running out half way through so it was time to get a corded vac. The best thing about this is the cord is 8m long, i can do the whole downstairs without unplugging. It has fantastic accessories so i can vacuum the stairs, fan and a special head for carpet that made the carpet look like new again. I absolutely recommend it! Show details

Attention dog owners! – I am living in a rental which is predominantly carpeted (plush carpet) with my constantly shedding Labrador. My el cheapo stick vacuum cleaner just wasn't cutting it. I decided to invest in a decent vacuum cleaner and Godfreys recommended this one. Took it home and immediately used it. Judge the results for yourself. Show details ·  1

Not recommend this product – -The handle broken twice, in the same joint knob. Obviously the joint knob is not designed to hold the weight of the head. -Not very powerful, needs to go forward backward few times to clean the carpet When took the machine back to the shop, needs to wait weeks to get it fixed. Not worth of the money Show details

Great value for money. Highly recommend – I've used a few of these beauties over the years (domestic cleaner), and always heard great things about them, plus excellent results. So I decided to give in, and buy one myself. I went for the bagged option, as it's more hygienic and better for those with Asthma/allergies. It's weight certainly does not make it feel cheap, although on that… Read more

note, I wouldn't recommend for someone that has trouble with vacuuming. I wouldn't say it's overly heavy, but may be difficult for some people. It feels very solid and well built, so I can expect it to take a beating when needed. It also comes with a great selection of tools, including a powerhead, a combination head, and my personal fave.... the mini turbo head. Great for pet hair, human hair etc. I gave it a trial run at my house, and it was phenomenal to see cat hair, crumbs and general dirt just disappear before my eyes. Honestly, the only vacuum that's ever done that in my home is my Dyson gen5, which was obviously far more expensive. I also give credit for the adjustable suction settings on the bagged model, so you can do every spare inch of the home.

It's a fantastic mid-range budget vacuum, and I've only ever heard people getting years out of them, not months. Well worth spending a bit extra, and getting a great reliable little sucker.

Excellent with some annoying flaws – We bought this a few years back and it's performed really well. The vacuum quality is excellent. It's also very quiet, which was the major problem with our previous machine (a 20 year old Volta that still to this day can almost suck paint off the wall, but sounds like a Harrier taking off). The Hoover is nice to use. I find it manoeuvrable and… Read more ·  1

pretty lightweight, so I was surprised to see a few people here saying it's clunky and heavy. Best part of it - it really sucks. Our main concern was that it would do that job well, and it does. We've had other vacuum cleaners that are weak suckers and that's a pain. And the powerhead works its magic on carpets. It gets tangled with hair etc. but that's the same with every power head I've ever used. The downsides: 1. You can't lay the handle flat on the floor without the powerhead lifting off the floor. This is a bad design feature. I want to vacuum under beds etc., but can't because the handle doesn't hinge to 180 degrees, so the sucking mechanism lifts off the ground and hence doesn't work. 2. REALLY annoying in such an expensive machine is that the cord retract is super weak. It doesn't bring the cord in, and you have to manually help it for the last few metres. This is super frustrating and it means we always have a metre of cord hanging out of the machine on the laundry floor near where we store it. This drives me barmy. Again, our 20 year old Volta - the cord retract will rip your arm off. Come on Hoover - it's just a friggn spring guys. Thought that one was a solved problem. Anyway, apart from those two issues, it's been a really dependable machine. One thing that I wish manufacturers would realise is that it was great when there was a BLOW function on vacuum cleaners. Usually this meant attaching the hose to the back instead of the front. This is a game changer - you get an indoor leaf blower thing - so you can blow all the crud out from under your piano or other hard-to-reach places. Plus you can blow up air mattresses in 5 seconds. Bring that back please! (Again - the old Volta does it - main reason we still have it around).

A pleasing performer – I bought this vacuum cleaner some months ago after researching and reading all the reviews, good and bad, and have found it does it's job very well. I read comments about the hose kinking. I found very early on that it does that sometimes with moving about during vacuuming, and is actually designed to allow you to rotate and adjust the hose near… Read more ·  1

the handle, obviously for this very reason. If the hose is blocking, I would have to ask what is being vacuumed? The two different heads are designed for different purposes, so you will have different results depending on which heads you use. I have wooden floors with rugs and carpeted bedrooms, so use the motorised one for the rugs and other for hard floors. It may be a bit tedious for some changing the heads, but really it's not a big deal. I have two small dogs and live in a house surrounded by open farmland so it can get dusty too. I am always amazed at the amount of (fine) dust the machine collects in the cannister after vacuuming, which brings me to my next point...maintenance. I clean/wipe out the inside of the cannister after every use especially due to our dusty environment, and check the rotary heads and filters after every other use. It's surprising how much hair etc gets caught in the rotating parts and it does make a difference keeping them free wheeling. I will summerise it like this. If you bother to read the manual of the machine, and use it and maintain it as instructed, it will function better and last longer.

Love this little sucker – Older Carpeted house. WE had a LOT of dust build up due to owning 2 very bad vacuums previously. It continually sucks up all the crap our 2 previous vacuums were unable to, due to suction loss. I'm so happy. Suction excellent. Easy to empty and clean. that can get tangled. I purchased the head cleaning cutting tool and while it's fiddley, it MUST be done to keep the vacumm head working. I mostly use the regular head. I've used milele and dyson, I actually rate this as well as the overpriced ones. Just clean it well between uses, wash or replace filters when needed, and dont pull it like a maniac around the house you should enjoy using it. It sux that godfreys is gone, but I did notice a red sticker for hoover service and support on my cleaner. I paid a lot for this vacuum, but I have not been disapointed.

Life is too precious to spend it fixing ur vacuum – Worst vacuum I've ever used. It's all fine until the hose clogs near the handle with no way to clear it because of that said handle. And it's only a few months old. Biggest waste of money it makes me sick.

Godfrey’s which proved to be useless . I wouldn’t recommend a Hoover vacuum to anyone. I was very disappointed with their service. I did find a Godfrey’s store in Frankston under a different trading name they repair and also sell parts for this machine. I punched a new power head slightly diffrent to the other Will just have to wait and see how it works.

Round the twist – I really liked this vacuum cleaner, I have pets and kids so it gets used regularly, for this reason I’m meticulous about cleaning the filters, hoses, brush, and bin regularly. So when it randomly defecated itself and stopped turning on at all without warning after not even 6 months from purchase I was fuming. To make things worse, Godfreys,… Read more

where I bought it, has also defected themselves (gone into liquidation apparently, despite their site saying they’ll be back soon) so I can’t even contact them for warranty support. So I tried reaching out to Hoover directly, but they were just as useless, sent me to some insolvency website, and then what?? This is my first time buying a Hoover, I thought being a popular brand they would be hardy and last at least a few years but I’ve been swindled and left without a vacuum all together.

Up until the unit stopped working it was good. Since Hoover won't provide me with a replacement it's deplorable – We've used this powerhead no more than 10 times since we purchased it in October 2023. 3 weeks ago it just stopped working without warning. I've always cleaned the brushes after every use. Now that I want to get it looked at under warranty. Hoover are putting the ownership onto Godfrey's who have gone into administration and therefore relinqhising all responsibility of this unit that is clearly manufactured by Hoover. Shame on you Hoover! Show details

Poor performance and house still feels dirty – I had bought this vacuum nearly 2 years ago. I have had it in storage for 18 months after we moved house. Very frustrating to use, would not advise purchasing – Constantly clogs up, so many nooks and cranny's we spend more time unclogging than actually vacuuming. Poor product – We are a retired couple with no pets and vacuum once a week. We have both carpeted and hard floor areas. We would not recommend this product to anyone. Show details

Needs a few alterations – Cleans well but power head does not lay flat to allow for cleaning underneath beds which is the place a lot of dust and nasties gather. The other problem is when it is being used on a shag pile carpet the suction is too strong to push the head forward. Needs a better way of lowering the suction than just a little slider on the handle. Show details ·  2

Vacuum function itself amazing, usability not great – I would technically give this a 3.5 but because of how frustrating it is to maneuver, ive rounded down to 3. fur.

However, when it comes to usability, think of a 1991 old, clunky, hard to pull around vacuum and you'll have a very similar experience. It is difficulty to pull around and it constantly flips itself because it doesn't turn very well. The handle part doesn't stand on its own well and to pull the top end away from the suction tube to vacuum corners has always been a hassle to pull a part and I'm not a weak woman by any means. It also takes up a lot or space in storing.

bit careful. The hose can kink and you need to be aware of that but it’s not a drama. I do wish however that the diverter was a bit bigger. I seem to empty it a lot and the body of the vacuum itself does get quite hot. And since I’ve had it I have had hardly any allergy symptoms which is really good! A good vacuum that I’m very happy with and I’m glad I bought it.

been without a vacuum for almost 3 weeks. When I rang Hoover I was told I would just have to keep sending it in for repairs. So I've paid $700 for a vacuum that is apparently going to go in for repairs every 2.5 months!! They will not refund me. They have not offered an ounce of compensation for being without the product nore have they bothered to offer a demo model of any kind to use while it is in the shop. Very bad service with a complete lack of care towards there clients.

Deeply disappointed – I'm a fit 40yo and had this for 3 months and I rarely do reviews but hoping to help someone not make the same mistake. soft/quality you cant use it -completely frizzes most of the carpets in my house. So basically useless. (oh and you have to completely take apart the motorhead every 3 uses as it becomes clogged with hair and debris.

Ok, ok, so swap out for the non-motorised head. Wow. this is the worst vacuum head I have used in 20 years. I wend back to shop to ask if I could purchase another better one - they said no and acknowledged that it was a pretty terrible vacuum head. It's chunky, doesn't have good coverage with it's suction, you dont get within 5 cm of a corner or wall and you have to go over and over areas you vacuum.

Deeply regret this purchase - the most wrong I've been in a long time about a product. Would be fine if you are doing a lot of industrial carpet (the motorhead works great on that) but otherwise buy a cheaper Miele.

I was visiting Gympie in August and came across a repairer and noted vacuums of the same type as mine in his shop - he sold me a second hand hose which worked well but still kinks which I think may add to the failure of this accessory.
