Cheap, beware replacement parts! – Bought vacuum on special at Godfrey's and was surprised by the suction power and performance. It's not quiet unless you want it to barely work, but it's easy enough to get around with it, as it is compact. We use it for hardwood and carot, and it performs well on both. Issue with it is quality: the hose ripped within 3 months of use, and warranty… Read more
replacement was taking longer than hoped. We looked at purchasing a new hose, but to our surprise, it was more expensive than the cleaner itself! In the end, the head also had issues and we got a full replacement, but keep that in mind if you're after a sturdy product.
Good overall, but build quality needs improvement.
Powerful Machine with less noise and great suction – Very powerful vacuum cleaner with good quality and great suction. Bought it for $100 from Godfreys and was very happy with the purchase. Cleaner is very light and is easy to carry around the house. I do vacuum combination carpet , tiles and wooden floor and it works well on all the floor types. Easy to clean and dry. Show details
It's not bad, but it's not great – I'm bit torn on this. Does it vacuum - yes. It is good for a small apartment - yes. But it does have its oddities :P It started off quite well. It can tend to tip over infrequently. Suction was good until recently, but now it's making a slightly odd noise. I love the bagless, and not to bad to clean, you really do have to remove the whole centre… Read more
to empty (not just flip the bottom open as suggested). Check the instructions as there are numerous extra filters etc you should keep an eye on. I really wanted one that kept it's extra nozzles attached, in this case they click into the side.. the catch is they keep falling out as you pull it around... kind of defeats the point. FYI the cord is really too short - I am always using it with an extension cord. And I swapped the main handle for another one I had, as the main foot was lousy and the pipe really short?!
I'm not getting rid of it in a hurry, its not a bad little machine. But for over $100 it's not brilliant.
More than a little surprised. Great Value – What a little beauty. Light weight and powerful. An added bonus of adjustable speed. Empties quickly and easily and reassembly is a breeze. Floors are clean and my wife's happy.
Not bad. Just need to clean the filter regularly – Not a bad vacuum. I've owned 3 of them in the past 7 years. The first one I bought for full price of $299. The next 2 I got on sale for $99 each. They aren't a bad vacuum but the filter needs to be cleaned after every 2 or 3 uses, and after a while it gets cloggged beyond cleaning. Get rid of the foam pre-filter as that just reduces suction.… Read more
Compared to the Bosch Relaxx'x unit I just bought, it has fairly poor suction. Not bad for a $99 machine. Don't pay any more than that.
Piece of crap avoid it like the plague – This thing we bought about three months ago it's noisy, bad length of cable belt was snapping once a week then the brush seized up. I had to borrow my daughters which was same model and yes belt snapping, brush snapped I gave up in the end and took the pair of them outside and beat the living crap out of them and dumped them outside the shop we bought them from nasty piece of junk Show details
Worsed ever vacuum – Worst vacuum I have ever owned. Continually have to clean the filters and to replace 1 filter, will cost nearly $30.00. The suction from our $45.00 vacuum my husband bought from Big W for the car is far superior when the hurricane is working at all. I found it on par with most vacuums for weight, maneuvering and noise. Last Hoover I will ever buy. Show details
Wish they'd told me – When I bought this vac (about 3 years ago from godfrey's) I paid $179 for it. It started out great - compared to previous cheap $20 ones I'd bought. But the loss of suction started within 6 months. I cleaned the circular filter, washed the cyclonic bits and replaced the back paper filter. That gave me about 50% more suction. I've cleaned it all… Read more
every month since. BUT some things that they DON'T tell you when you but this "hurricane" are: the extendable tube clip will break so the darned thing won't stay extended - and it's WAY too short for anyone over 4 feet tall. The stupid design of the flexible hide inlet/outlet means it isn't that manouverable in the house (but it's great in the store). It gets stuck on its own really short cord. The cord is so short, you either need an extension cord or to change outlets each time you change rooms. You need to empty the canister each time you change rooms - and when you do, not only will the dust and dirt fly EVERYWHERE, but the red "cyclonic" bits will fall out into the bin - so much for easy, clean emptying!
And then, there is THIS. My vac started screaming. LOUDLY. (So bad the neighbor could hear it and came to see if everything was ok). I can't afford another vac. (I couldn't really afford this one either. I'm on a pension and it took me 6 months to save the sale price I paid). I have very short, small, right pile carpet - like office carpet and linoleum in a small 3 bedroom house. It gets vacuumed once a week. I decided to give the thing one more chance before it went in the bin. So, again, I cleaned it. This time, for some weird reason that I don't really know, after I'd cleaned EVERY other possible part (including the house and pipe) I decided to find out if the brush head came apart. Well, it looked like I'd have to replace the vac anyway. I carefully proses the bottom cover off it and HOLY COW!!!!! IT WAS SO CHOKED WITH DUST AND LINT AND GOODNESS KNOWS WHAT. I had to CUT it out with a knife! My recommendation for anyone who owns one of these mediocre vacs is to clean the brush head every few months. For anyone who doesn't own one - DON'T BUY ONE OF YOU CAN HELP IT. I know that sometimes price and your budget don't give you much choice, so if you HAVE to buy one, clean EVERY INCH THOROUGHLY - INCLUDING INSIDE THE BRUSH HEAD every 2-3 months. Replace your paper filter every 6 - 12 months At least this should help give you a vac that works ok for longer.
Don't even work – This is the worst piece of rubbish i have ever used in my life. Doesn't work, doesn't do a good job and when we bought it, it wasn't cheap. The sales person said this is the best in the market. Why doe they make machine that just asking for trouble.
Plastic, lightweight, loses suction fast – Bought this online on special so was cheap enough, but really it is more of a replica/scaled down version of a real vacuum cleaner. First thing you notice is how small and fragile it is, secondly how short the power cord is, thirdly how difficult it is to clean - you have to poke something between the barrel and filter or dismantle every time,… Read more
lastly how flimsy the wheels and head is. Even after very careful use (in a small home) emptying and cleaning every single time - the stupid thing just lost suction altogether within 6 months. I'm now having to courier back to company at my expense.
I bought this as I thought Hoover was a good trusted brand, I was wrong.

worst ever – pole to short my back killing me, also very very loud never again buying hoover products, my last hoover for 49 euro from lidi was a far superiour product than this 200 euro hoover.back to lidi for me.did contact hoover but was told nothing they can do and i even offered money to get a bigger pole but to no avail
Terrible – This was the second Hoover we purchased. The first one was broke down twice in the first year. Returned it and the guy then sold me the Hurricane and said it was much better than the bagged machine. Well, it isn't. It's useless. The extendable arm broke after a week and the machine doesn't even have enough suction to clean a low pile carpet. I've… Read more
since purchased a Nilfisk from Bunnings and it is far superior, a great little vacuum.
I will never purchase a Hoover again.
I would like to say it Sucks – Got rid of an old Volta that was sounding as if it was on the way out. Knowing Hoovers have been in the business a long time and still using an extremely old one in my workshop I thought I could not go wrong. However the only sucker was me it is very noisy but has about a tenth of the suction of my 30 year old one and was no where near as good as the Volta. Will not buy another Hoover.

Warning. Do Not Buy Hoover Hurricane. You Will Be Throwing Your Money Away If You Do! – This is the worst vacuum cleaner I have ever used. The cord is way too short and you need to have an extension lead attached to do the entire house. It has two fake big plastic wheel covers to HIDE the tiny wheels that can't even go over it’s own power cord. I can't believe I wasted my hard earned money on such a useless piece of plastic. suction is getting worse as the weeks go by. The hose connection sticks up towards the ceiling and this makes this vacuum hard to move around the house and bangs around and tips over. Emptying the dust container is a pain and very messy you need to clean EVERYTHING out, filter, chamber, middle compartment EVERYTHING. For me it is easier, faster and less painful. if I get out the broom from my laundry cupboard and sweep the carpet. Hoover should Stop making this vacuum and ripping off good, hard working people, like myself. I have just visited GODFREYS web site now they are trying to sell this model for $99 and you save $300 off the RP $399.00 they should be ashamed.
Hoover hurricane – Bought this sweeper in July2015 from curry's. Had to phone hoover after 3 belt snapped in 8 weeks. Hoover replaced belt and brushes belt still snapped and went back to curry's they gave me a new one after second time of use belt snapped. Hoover office don't want to know trying to say, I was getting things fast it's nothing but a load rubbish.… Read more
Will never buy any product of hoover again. I'm taking the sweeper to the rubbish tip. I'm 72 years of age cannot afford to keep phoning hoover was on hold 15 minutes at 5p a min phoned 4 times.
It sucks because it doesn't! – The Hoover Hurricane ... what can I say except I'm as ferocious as a hurricane each time I use this hopeless machine. The suction is nothing short of pathetic and you need to go over and over a number of times to (attempt to) clean the carpet thoroughly. It does not suck well on hard floors either. The design is poor and emptying the dust canister… Read more
is always a messy experience. The cord is short and an extension cord is always needed. It is very lightweight and will flip over with just the slightest knock. All in all a total waste of money and time, make that double time as it now takes twice as long to vacuum my house. Seriously, don't even consider buying one!
Good machine, but its most likely not a dyson – Bad news people, its not a Dyson. Not that i own a Dyson or ever have but I'm failry sure they have lifetime warranties on their hepa filter, something that the hurricane doesn't have so you need to replace it every 3 times used which is at a cost of $30.00 each filter change. I've had a blockage issue with mine but after finding the hole at the… Read more
bottom of the unit I opened it and unblocked the vaccum passage. I also have to use my garden blower to blow out the "hurricane" filter cylinders as well as washing the foam filter in the top of the air filter for the bagless container. Without doing these things at least once every 2 uses your unit will not work well and eventually stop working altogether. When it comes to floorboards or tiles the best thing is a dust mop. My house contains no carpets besides rugs and its best to use a dust mop that collects everything.
I hate this machine – This is the worst vacuum you could imagine. When purchasing this machine I stated I wanted an extra long cord, a lightweight machine with good suction for hard floors and a shaggy rug. I have hated this vacuum since the very first minute I used it at home. The cord is too short, the fake big wheels hide tiny things that can't even go over its own… Read more
power cord, it bangs into walls all the time as it doesnt follow you properly. The handle broke after 6 months. We were sold it by Godfreys who I think were just trying to move stock. I spend a good 20 minutes each week brooding over how much I hate this hideous vacuum while I try to clean my house with it. Do not buy it!!!!
No suction after 6 months – Its a lemon just dont bother. Its a pain to keep cleaning everything out and letting it dry for 2 days before you can use it. When it was new suction was ok but not really great ... but as mentioned above Ive had it 6 months...probably used it once or twice a week on average on a small 4 bedroom tiled home and it will not suck anymore. Everythings clean etc ...just a lemon. bagless doesnt suck anymore died fast...hard to keep clean
I really like it, but – the Hoover Hurricane is a very good vacuum cleaner. The only problem is the standard head it comes with has an unbroken brush on the leading edge. This tends to push the dirt along the floor, not letting the dirt past to get sucked up. The solution that worked for me was to cut the brush short at intervals along that edge. This creates air flow… Read more
into the head from the front. Problem sloved.
Salespersons and adds are hung up on suction but suction without good airflow means the dirt goes nowhere. There's got to be a balance.
awful – This is the worst vacuum cleaner I've ever used. We had issues with the seals so it was out of action for two months. Two years on and it can't pick up anything. I've to empty it and clean the filter just to get one room done. The parts are very bad quality and the hose is broken too. its red! Everything going to replace it today
Absolutely riduclous thank god I got it half price :-/ – The vacuum at the start worked ok good suction & looked the part had all the good features you would like in a vacuum then after probably the 4th time I used a it a seal between the filter (which I change every time I use!) & the motor comes off I cannot vacuum for more than a minute & cannot get the seal in so have to wait for other half to come… Read more
home & fix for it to happen the next time I use it over & over again I should have just brought a dyson dammit it was also unstable pulling it it would tip over very easily such a pile of junk wouldn't recommend it all oh & it's not a warranty covered issue It had good suction WHEN the seal stayed in place The seal getting sucked it every time I used it!!! & the lack of stability

Terrible product – This hunk of junk stopped performing terribly after four months and began to perform like an absolute disgrace. I can't believe I worked to waste my hard earned money on such a useless, steaming pile of manure. Hoover should be ashamed to call themselves a business. I am throwing this "appliance" in the bin. Even there it's going to be a waste of… Read more
space at the landfill. It's easier to pick the dirt and dust up with my bare hands. Throwing it away No suction. Pipe broke. Power cord as short as a shoelace. Left house dirtier than prior to cleaning.
I agree completely. Some poor sod paid $5 for it in a garage sale we had. Bought a Miele instead.
Great product – I think this vac is great for the price, the floor brush needs attention I use and old floor brush from another vac. The wheels on the brush are too big not letting the brush touch the floor. Quality control put the brush at eye level error in design bad The floor brush needs attention from the designers
Filthy thing – Almost impossible to change from one head attachment to another (I'm not strong enough) and no advantage being bagless as I seem to get myself filthy emptying the dust container as most of the fluff and dust gets wedged so you have to stick your fingers in to pry it out. The suction is also lousy. It is also hard to manouver and tips over easily.… Read more
I bought this vacuum because it came with a free steam mop which I needed also but that turned out to be a dud also.
Hard to empty dust recipient. Poor performance.
Reliable but underpowered – The Hoover Hurricane feels somewhat underpowered. It can pick up little stuff easily but when it comes to hair on rugs and carpet powder deodorizer, it does not do a good job. In case of loose hair in the rug, I have to go on the ground and manually use the suction to get them. If I use a powder deodorizer, I have to go through again and again on… Read more
the same area to vacuum it clean. After that, I have to go down on the ground to see if some powder is left and usually there still is especially if I use the Coles generic brand carpet deodorizer. Yikes! Reliable Not so efficient, underpowered
So far so good – No complaints yet... i just got it new for 1 month. My wife's think it's better than those under 200 bucks. For the price of $280, it's good enough to do the job from carpets to floorboards. Easy clean & maintenance(Filter), cheap replacement parts and small in size are the keys why i bought this unit. Unlike those branded products, too fancy,… Read more · 2
filter is hard to clean, expensive parts to replace and for the size like this = double the price. Will post the review again if problems arises. Powerful suction. Quiet machine. Easy to manoeuvre. Small size unit = Good for storage.
Expected more – We purchased this vacuum cleaner a year ago and it has been very disappointing. The suction is really poor. The machine itself doesn't manoevre well. It always seems to overheat. I like the bagless system and ease of emptying, but as for doing the job it's supposed to, it sucks! Bagless system Lack of suction.
I thought it comes with 2 years warranty? You can still claim a new one it's still valid.
Best wee vacuum EVER – I purchased this just over a year ago. For the size, this little vacuum is amazing. Great price, awesome suction, great size, easy to manoeuvre and really easy to empty and clean! Gets in all of those tight corners, the head comes off so you can get in all the gaps. Love my Hoover, would definitely recommend to anyone =) The size, the… Read more
powerful suction, the ease of movement, the length of cord, powerful cord retraction, easy to clean and empty.
Easy vacuuming – The suction is very good and sticks to the carpet quite strongly, and Im surprised at the amount of dirt and fluff it collects. The onboard tools are a great idea, where ever you are in the house. The wheels run very smoothly for easy manoevering, unlike other vaccuum cleaners which can be awkward when changing direction across the floor. It is… Read more
quite light to pull around, and doesnt seem to be tiresome to use for long periods of time.
It is not excessively noisy either. It makes a type of 'hollow hum' sound, instead of the standard 'screamy' noise omitted by other cleaners.
The dirt container is a type of plastic jug, which can be removed easily and opened at both ends for emptying. A sponge filter at the top of the jug collects the fine fluff, but can be easily cleaned.
The cord rewind works very well and retracts strongly.
The wand is metal, and is adjustable for people of all heights.
It has adjustable suction power, for vaccuuming various surfaces.
Overall, I have found this product very satisfactory. Good suction, easy manoevering, slightly less noisy, leight weight, retracting chord, adjustible power. Lumps of fluff can be stuck in dirt container when trying to empty. The jug filters require periodic rinsing with water, to maintain peak suction power. These are minor inconveniences.
Suction loss for Hoover Hurricane Plus – The suction is not good as I would expect since the motor is 2000W. I have washed and clean all the parts in the suction chamber including filters but not much change. I checked the hose as well as the rod and nothing is stuck that would cause the suction loss size and manouverability suction loss
All bagless Vac's lose suction, but not Dyson. apart from cleaning one filter once every few… Read more
