Still going good after 3 years – For the price, the vacuum is still working well after 3 years. It may not be the best, but for the price I am pleased with it’s reliability so far Show details

Lousy Cleaner – This vacuum cleaner, works well in the store. Okay, at home for a short time. Has suction, when the head is removed. Useless, when the head is put on. The worst vacuum, I've used. Don't waste your money, buying it. I'm about to throw it, away. Show details

Great big-little vacuum cleaner. Cheap price for what it does. Amazing suction power! Just keep the bin and filters clean and will last decades... 》》》Moronic abusers who have posted here saying this vacuum is no good, have not either read the instruction manual or expected this small vaccy to be an industrial Kirby, which it is not! General… Read more

fluff bin emptying is easy but the long term dust filters require attention else suction decreases. But it makes sense that if air can't get through the system then performance decreases... so clean it regularly!

I use it at half power and it's more than enough for carpets and rugs.

The main engine-in dust filter can be washed in warm soapy water and the dried overnight. The same with the engine exhaust dust filter, it's washable. You have to remember to check the filters and pull any hair clogs from inside the main fluff bin.

Cord-Retract still works well after years of operation. Acc's last forever. Just use Mr. Sheen furniture polish on the outside body to stop dust buildup.

Fabulous quality from Hoover.

Good, very functional and has the suction power – I do like this vacuum cleaner, it has great suction which helps with our carpet and works easily with our hardwood floors. Very easy to empty. Just a few minor points : Has not got much of a carry point to lift one area to another which is surprisingly annoying. Be careful not to have the vacuum head set on carpet when on the timber floor as you can actually scratch your shiny flooring. Show details

Beats all – Maybe I got one of the good ones, but I bought this vaccum at Godfreys around 6 years ago and still works like new. Its the best vaccum I ever had. I make sure to empty it after every use and deep clean at least once a month. Suction is great still. 10/10 would recommend. Show details ·  1

Pleasure to use – Plenty of suction power. Vacuums with ease. Easy to assemble. This is my second Hoover. Well worth the $99 I paid for it on sale! Bags arent expensive. The only thing I'd change is the addition of an on-board toolbox for attachments.

Best Vacuum Cleaner I Have Owned – I've had this vacuum cleaner for over 2 years and it hasn't failed to perform. It has a strong suction which is evident by the high wattage. It cleans beautifully each and every time. For only $200, you won't get any better value for money than this. I don't quite understand why it has so many bad reviews? I have never had any problems with it to… Read more ·  1

date. I bought this product from Godfreys and I use it on carpet and tiles. The filters and the bags last a very long time between changing too. Overall, glad I bought this vacuum cleaner.

Can't fault it – Had this vacuum for years. For $200 it's been brilliant. Not sure what anyone is going on about with negative reviews. Has done multiple houses, multiple floor types, vacuumed things I shouldn't have. Now it lives in a shed, next to a barely sealed roller door and gets used on a car and boat. Reliable as sunrise. Never failed. And the bag takes 2… Read more ·  1

seconds to swap out, costs nothing to replace and they come in multiple packs. Best $200 vacuum you could buy. And probably better than most $400 ones I've used at work as a professional cleaner.

Worst vacuum ever – Extremely bad vacuum - worst I've ever had. The suction is ok for the first two minutes of use after which it drops off. It is hard to empty, and the filters don't seem to work well, causing it to overheat and randomly stop working mid use. The filter set-up prevents the dust from filling the compartment - rather it just gathers around the first,… Read more

hard filter, which means it has to be emptied after every use. The filter also needs washing after every use, but then needs to dry which takes more than a day, limiting how often we can use it. It is hard to open, hard to empty without getting dust everywhere, and hard to store because the suction bit doesn't attach well onto the front of the vacuum. I have never had a vacuum this bad.

Bad design – The vac has 2 bits to empty the fluff each use, when just one would be fine. One bit is really hard to remove - you have to push the sides in and twist. It is a really complicated design with many compartments filling up with dust. I use disposable gloves when emptying, as my hands get covered in whatever firt is picked up when vaccuuming. 3 weeks… Read more

after buying this my husband took it back to the store where purchased, as the thing overheated and stopped.. I had been following the booklet on how to clean the multitude of filters but he was told the booklet was wrong and then he had to pay for a new filter!!!! The lid on the vac when opened to remove the dust containers and filter clicked over a tab and would not close again! My husband removed these tags and now I can close the lid, but it means some of the vac has now been modified by us. These tags were completely unnessecary. An all round shocking design.

Design issues – I purchased this vac a little over 2 weeks ago so it is early days. So far, it has done a good job on my very old carpet and hard floors, but I have issues with the design. The "handle" is too low, the hot air blowing upwards is very annoying and, as a right-handed person (like most people), I don't understand why the power button is not on the inside instead of the outside of the barrel. Show details

Absolutely worst vacuum ever!!!! If I could would rate it -5 stars – This is the absolutely WORST vacuum I have ever used in my life!!!!!! and I also bought it at Godfreys!! it every 30 seconds and then it will suck well for about 20 seconds. HA HA it is really hilarious owning this vacuum. I've never felt so annoyed when vacuuming and I hate such a bad design but I must say the con is in how well it sucked in the store. It takes so much longer the you need to clean the vacuum every 20 seconds. Once it meets dirt it turns to total crap. HATE this vacuum and now also have lost faith in purchasing a vacuum at Godfreys.

Value for Money – Went to Godfreys to purchase a vacuum cleaner within the under $100 budget. The staff recommended Hoover Smart. It worked well for the first month. After that there seems to be some problem with the suction. Editing my review, after the suction stopped working, I opened the machine and removed all the dirt. I reckon something was stuck. Working well again. Show details

Time will tell – My disclaimer: I loved my Nilfisk coupe- but it died and couldn't be saved. Bought this as a replacement. It seems to have plenty of suction (it is brand new) and accessories. I don't know if it is because it is bagless, but it would be awesome if the smaller vacuum head accessories could be stored on the unit (like the Nilfisk). I can also see… Read more

the lack of an adjustable handle being a nuisance.

I will update this review as time goes on and I use the unit more.

27 Jan 2019 - update as promised

Needs a proper handle

This is my only suggestion for this unit. Working in the garage, vacuuming the car, perspiring a bit, the molded recess just won't do.

Apart from that, there is a lot to like about this unit so far. The push-button to empty the chamber is terrific and simple (that has a handle). It is better than my bagged Nilfisk which always had me doubting the correct way to reinsert (allow me this, I am a man!) the bag and plastic bag holder thingy. The washable filter is still good (clean) after 6x uses (light conditions) and the suction is still on minimum and is excellent - but as I said its still the honeymoon period.

I can forgive not having onboard space for the attachment heads but, it really would be improved with a carry-handle. More updates as they come to hand.

I love it – Best vacuum ever, had to turn it down as it sucked too hard. 6 yrs old so far and gets used daily. Only needs to be cleaned out once a fortnight. I think the people who complain it fills up before they complete the job might need to consider using it more often or making less mess. Seriously if the thing is full that's a lot of dust to have on your floor before deciding to clean up..  Show details

Easy vacuum – Easy vacuum cleaner to use, functions well. Really good suction and cleans my tiles and rugs with ease. Can be a little painful to manoeuvre but none more so than other vacuums of this make. Cord length is long enough for an apartment. Small enough for easy storage. Would be better design if accessories had somewhere to go.  Show details

Compact – Handy compact vac for a small home or unit. Not suited to a huge house. Had for 4 weeks now, suction very good so far. Portable and light but doesn’t like to follow and tips very easy. If patient and take time this will not occur. Overall good value for money.  Show details

it sucks – i have been an industrial designer for the first thirty years of my career and i loath products that just fail, fail, fail,. filling quickly with grog and fluff which has no hope of getting through the fine grate to the main chamber. Tthe wand dropping out all the time cannot be solved with wondrous ways to push fit the joints. It seems to me that it's best just to glue the things together permanently with loctite or similar. Also the head cannot be dismantled for clearing. Yes silly me for not paying attention when i bought it, but apart from not getting an opportunity to give it a work out in your home first, I worked on hoover products in the past when they were Australian made and still thought the name was trustworthy.

Worst vacuum cleaner I have ever owned – Where to start. The hot air blows from the side of cleaner on to you as your cleaning-ridiculous. Cheap vacuum, but doesn't last – This vacuum is great for small homeowners who don't want to spend large amounts on vacuums. However, I don't think it is suited for large homes. It is annoying having to walk around unplugging and plugging back in again. The vacuum also loses suction after a while. Otherwise, it is a good vacuum.  Show details
