Change of Address – Have been using hopshopgo for years and it was great, however they have suddenly changed their address without telling anyone, so I have parcels that weren’t sent to the old address sitting in a PO Box that say they are delivered, with no way of me getting them. And hopshogo having no record of them. However a parcel with the exact same shipping… Read more

Do not use Hop Shop Go – Hop Shop Go have changed ownership. They won't tell you this themselves because that would involve honesty and communication. My experience so far has been no customer service and when there is it is the same bot answer they give everyone. even know where it is or what is happening with it. There were huge hidden charges/fees. It has cost well over $1000 more than I estimated using their online calculator. They were perfectly capable of calculating everything properly when it was too late for me to change my mind. I have calmly and civilly tried to contact them every single available way and I'd say they have answered 15% of the time. Do not use Hop Shop Go. - From one very frustrated Australian.

Hopshopgo upped and left the building??? – I,ve had 7 packages delivered in the last month. 2 got returned to the seller for no reason?? Now i have to deal with an angry seller who,s done nothing wrong. All the others haven,t shown up in my account after nearly a week!! No answer to any emails i,ve sent!! The pricing is ridiculous for Australians – Let me get it directly. In total, I bought 225.9 USD goods (3.5kg) and the total shipping cost to Australia is 115 USD without a promo code. The $15 off for new customer made it to 100 USD (or 99.96 USD to be accurate). Hence, you may pay more than 50% of the value of goods you bought if you don't have any offer/promotion (114.96÷225.9≈50.89%). … Read more
You tell if it is worth to use this forwarding service.
Pros: 1. Availablity of customer service CS responded and replied fast.
2. International delivery is good Started on 08 Nov 2022 and delivered on 14 Nov 2022, less than a week.
Cons: 1. The calculator on their website is useless You need to add 10% GST on your own. The GST is based on the whole shipping cost, including shipping from a foreign country to Australia, HopShopGo's surchage, repackaging fee, insurance, etc.
2. The ABN 26 600 205 310 on their website is not valid The real ABN is 17 701 478 100 per https://abr.business.gov.au/AbnHistory/View?id=17701478100
3. A 5 USD cost of rapackaging is literally a must The state on their website that they will use the bigger option of either size or weight, but a $5 (USD) surchage is literally a must unless you want to pay a much higher shipping cost.
4. Expensive PayPal currency conversation service Unless I'm mistaken, this website only allows PayPal payment method and be aware of PayPal's very high currency conversation extra cost. You will have to manually change it to your bank's rate, or you will be charged even more Australian currency.
Lately the price is ridiculous, $271 USD for two packages, thats $378 AUD!! – I have been using this service for years and i can gaurantee that it never cost this much. See the photos for this medium sized box and the small sized box, look at the price that was quoted, there is no way the plastic cheese fridge container is 2.5kg... Show details

All good up until now but I may have found out why they seem to be off-line at the moment – I've been using HSG for roughly 8 to 9 years mainly without issue, that is until now.... I like a few other reviewers here, have discovered, to our horror, that HSG seems to have mysteriously shut up shop without notice. However, they share their warehouse with comgateway, their parent company and I just managed to find this information on the… Read more
comgateway front page, I don't know when it got posted but I was having no issues with their service in April, so I'm guessing that any of the current issues, only started in May. I expect them to be back up and running soon, albeit with a new warehouse address and customer service people back answering our queries;
We have received some feedback that customers have been having issues with their parcels. Please note that we are moving, and all goods will be transferred to the new warehouse address. The transition period is about two weeks, and all goods are safe. If you have any questions, we’ve set up an email hotline to handle your queries: comgateway.hotline@gmail.com
If they don't come back online by mid June, then it may sadly be a case of them having shut up shop.
No response to emails, non-existent customer service at premium pricing - avoid at all costs – I have used HopShopGo for 10 years, albeit with a laundry list of complaints and frustrations regarding their terrible customer service, high pricing and questionable business practices. Throughout this I stuck with the company because quite frankly, it was easier to work with them than switch services, and they always had the Live Chat function… Read more
which meant I could at least speak to a human when issues arose. But - fast-forward to the last month or so - the Live Chat function has vanished from the website and they are simply NOT responding to emails. I have sent probably a dozen emails, both to their customer service email address and via the website, with no response or even an automated acknowledgement. Packages are going missing, processing times are NOT being adhered to and I am no longer getting notifications for when packages are actually processed. I have no idea what's going on and none of this is giving me a great deal of confidence that this is a company that I should continue to ship my purchases to. In addition, their shipping partner DHL has been completely shambolic when it comes to coming anywhere close to meeting guaranteed delivery dates (the last two shipments have had packages delayed by up to two weeks past the delivery deadline) so I am questioning why I'm paying premium pricing for a truly terrible customer service and delivery experience.
Great Service, Highly Recommended – Because many people (myself included) check websites such as ProductReview.com.au to determine if a service/website is legit, I wanted to share my thoughts after using HopShopGo for a few months. service. I have been using it mainly for Vinyl Records and clothes. The service has been stellar, very easy and detailed website to navigate, not a problem setting up a US address. All packages arrived at the HopShopGo with no issues. They also send you photos of the parcels to make sure the contents are correct. The cost of shipping to Australia is just a fraction compared to what I would have paid for all individual packages.
I love their OneBox service. It is an option to package all of your parcels together into one box.
Their shipping is nothing sort of amazing. At the time of writing this review, they use DHL to ship packages to Australia. I had packages show up on my doorstep in 3 days!! I couldn't believe it.
Overall I'm extremely happy using Hopshopgo

I'm very happy with my first time use of HopShopGo – I'm very happy with my first time use of the HopShopGo platform. I used their Buyforme service and it went perfectly. Then the process to ship to Australia was also flawless. The delivery time was an impressive 4 days. I used their welcome voucher with the Express upgrade and it made the whole process very affordable. BIG THUMBS UP from me Show details
First time using hopshopgo excellent experience – This service was easy to setup. I had tracking on the parcel arriving at hopshopgo and it appeared on their system soon after it was collected. minutes. The original sender postage was $US198 to ship to Australia, $10 to ship to hopshopgo. Hopshogo charged me $72 less a coupon for $15 which was emailed to me when I registered. So my first parcel saved me $198-10-72+15=$US131. Parcel was 1.5kg. That is a massive saving and the service for me has been great.

Used to be great, no idea what's gone wrong with them – I have used them several times over the last few years and they've been great. However I made 2 orders to be delivered to them and they've gone missing in transit. Seems HSG moved addresses but didn't advise customers so parcels are not being delivered to their warehouse to be shipped to the rest of the world. Online chat no longer available and they don't reply to emails. So 2 parcels missing and I'm out of pocket. Not happy! Do not use. Show details
No Customer Service, No Response, but they signed for my package – I created my account by linking it to my PayPal account. I placed an order on a supplier's site, using the US forwarding address that was then associated with my HSG account. The supplier used Fedex to deliver the package. HSG claims they returned my package to sender as they have moved office, yet Fedex is able to confirm the date, time and… Read more
name of the individual that signed for my package. I raised this query with HSG twice and they only replied to the second query with a one-line response of "As per FedEx, we noticed your package 399262668239 was returned to sender. Please note that we are moved before, so we cannot accepted your package. We are sorry for causing you trouble and inconvenience." Now the delivery address associated with my HSG account has reverted back to the original address, I still don’t have my package and HSG has gone back to not replying to any of my queries.
No customer service No response to many emails – I purchased an item recently with their buy for me service. They add on a 10 percent surcharge. They also charge for the box size which ends up twice as much as the weight . They also add on 15% for the Australian GST tax which is only really 10%. The item end up costing twice as much as the initial purchase price . I'm going back to ebay and Amazon who give realistic shipping cost. They have taken $500 Australian dollars and ignore my emails. Whoever they now call themselves, AVOID!!! – === EDIT === This complaint has generated all sorts of bizarre responses dein GopShopGo (HSG). Well, potential customers should not take my word for it. See what you think and decide whether you want to engage the services of these "professional" re-shippers. Just a couple, but these only scratch at the surface... 1) In response to my claims… Read more
that DHL Express provide a promised delivery date (based on their expertise as couriers) which could not be maintained due to HSG inability to provide proper paperwork:
"...we would like to clarify that you paid us for the shipment and not DHL. Therefore, our shipping timeframe applies to the shipment. DHL is our Logistics partner but the service level agreement falls under our policies and procedures."
So, they magically sweep any expert assessment of on-time versus late delivery on the basis that I paid them!!! Read this again. You will be paying a premium for DHL Express services, who provide a "promised delivery date", but HSP negate this (very non-publicly) because you paid HSG for their expert re-shipping abilities!!!
2) In response to my claims that they utterly failed to provide appropriate documentation, to the extent that this delivery was *always* going to generate a Customs intervention:
"As the customs processing is assessed upon the arrival of the shipment in the country, we are unable to determine what will be the needed requirements in the local customs clearance. Customs regulations and procedures are subject to significant variability across different countries. Each country has its own distinct set of laws, policies, and guidelines governing the import and export of goods, which can often differ in terms of their specific requirements, and documentation."
Oh, really? You don't say? Thanks for the information. The problem is that HSG are being paid to re-ship the item on the very premise that they know what they are doing. Clearly, that assumption is wrong -- and they are happy to admit it!!! I have many times encouraged US sellers to ship guitars to Australia when they didn't really intend to, and they did everything right -- between them and my small amount of help they all went off without a hitch. Enter "professional" re-shippers and suddenly this simple import becomes completely un-doable. And their response to complaints? It is too hard!!! And yet novices can do it without a problem. And this novice had to do it again to get the package out of Customs. *I* did it. Not HSG. They are no doubt frustrated by the fact that I was talking to DHL and discovered that their documentation was always doomed to failure -- because otherwise HopShopGo customers would automatically be assuming that DHL Express were at fault.
HSG is wrong. They charged for something that they now admit they cannot do. I did it.... as I and other complete newbies have done in the past without incident. Every email from them either thanks me for pointing out weaknesses in their system which they will address (no, they won't -- it is all too hard, right?) or tells me how they desperately want to "work" with me to resolve things!!! Pretty words. They could "resolve" things by un-charging me for work they (1) didn't successfully do, by *any* reasonable interpretation of what their entire reason for existence is; and (2) impacted on the delivery of a package for which I was charged **Express** rates such that DHL Express dates completely disappeared off the tracking and was replaced with "EXCEPTION! No date available."
Useless. But let their own words condemn them. I'm just the patsy that expected a simple import to be managed by "professional" re-shippers. What would I know, eh? It is clearly a whole barrage of unreasonable expectations on my part. But you won't see any of the loopholes when you check their site for quotes or anything else. It may be there, although I very much doubt it. Who knows? It sure isn't anywhere meaningful (like the full account of costs that will be levied against you as a customer).
The really telling thing that potential customers should be able to clearly see is this. There was a problem. They created it. It is indisputable. BUT they duck and weave and do it so fervently that they can't even see that their own excuses are so rotten that they openly admit to being incapable!!!
If you *ever* use them (that's on you) and you have a problem (that's on them, and extremely likely), be aware that they will never budge. It was all your fault for expecting them to do the work they were paid for.
My prediction is this. Any use of their service will leave you stranded in a Fawlty Towers universe where even the most basic points of order are met by bizarre assertions and random excuses. Unless you believe my review -- and others like it -- you won't even know how bad they are until everything goes pear-shaped. And then you will discover (from their own responses to your complaints) that they have very quietly set up their entire business so that they can fail utterly by anyone else's standards, but still claim they have met their own arbitrary criteria for "success". Their "success" will not be yours, and it is also fails to meet the standards of success as measured by other experts in the field (DHL Express, for example; DIY imports for another).
=== End of edited addition ===
Please, please, do yourself a favour and read other people's reviews of "HopShopGo". They are almost all terrible, right? Now, note that they also used to be CommGateway, changing names every now and then to escape the widespread recognition of how dismal they are (they still use that name in their email communications).
If the experiences of others doesn't convince you, then try this quick test to see if you should be using them. Go to their site, enter whatever details you can about your product, search for their charges and costings, etc., and then stop. Can you now see a list of ALL of the costs that will be charged to you? Can you, as the potential customer, at any stage get a complete costing of your transaction? They like to focus on shipping rates. Sure. But what remains?
Here are my final costs (all are in US dollars):
* International shipping from US: $237.12 * Remote area surcharge: $10 [I live in the Greater Sydney Metro Area -- hardly remote] * Oversize charge: $37 * Surcharge: $176.89 * Import clearance fees: $347.97 * Insurance: $25.86
All up, this cost over AUD $1,300 for a guitar to be shipped. The guitar cost $2,000 AUD.
Unless you can safely see full costings of shipping, surcharges, additional fees for things like "remote area" charges, and import duties -- if these are not right there in front of your eyes -- then you are being primed for scam.
Consider this. They, once you have provided all of the details, they can provide all of this information to you. The *ONLY* reason you will not be able to see it is because of deliberate obsfuscation. They simply *don't want* you to see it. Now, you decide what that means. Do it before you commit, because you will be very sorry if you wait until after the fact when, miraculously, they can produce all of the fees and charges once your item is secure within their grasp and you cannot undo your decision without paying to get it returned to sender. They are your options. Pay more to get it sent back. Or pay the exorbitant (and mostly hidden) charges to now have it sent from them over to you.
For me, they weren't even capable of doing their job. The item got stopped in customs because they did not provide correct information... which you are paying them a hefty price to do on your behalf. I ended up doing it myself via direct contact with DHL. It still incurred significant delays, however, and I have still yet to receive it -- although, due to my intervention, it has now cleared customs.
I have asked for a partial refund since (i) I did their work for them; and (ii) the arrival was delayed as a direct consequence of them not doing it in the initial instance. It won't, of course, happen. They are there for the quick con, then take the money and run, knowing that more will follow. They don't need customer loyalty, just a stream of people who think they are legit. It's only after the fact that the actual costs become clear. It's not much difference from a Nigerian bank account scam. They don't need return business. They just need new suckers who will take the bait. If you cannot clearly see every cent you will be charged, and if they don't even do their job after charging you for it... then you are being scammed.
But, by all means, you decide whether you believe them to honest or not. Just check the reviews of other people's experiences before you do.
