What Price and delivery for MK5 Ratchet Pruner
Do you know how to use the ratchet part of the pruner? If others are liking the pruner, then the design might not be the problem, ie it could be the user who does not understand how to use the ratchet. And did you buy another ratchet pruner, or did you instead go back to the older harder to use style without a ratchet? Maybe Bunnings etc staff should be simply trained to show dissatisfied customers how to use the ratchet. I think this is another example of a misunderstanding customer presuming mistakenly instead of researching and learning what the problem actually is. It is so easy to blame even simple tools.
Sorry I took it back. My replacement was a ratchet type and it still works fine
Did the reviewer think about getting an exchange to see if the second pruner is also blunt etc? Did you know really how to use the ratchet? And as that has a hybrid Bypass / Anvil blade, have you tried a bypass ratchet pruner / secateur? And did you buy Hortex's cheaper $8.48 ratchet secateur to see if that was sharper etc?: external link And what species, of plant, were you cutting?
I didnt get another because looking at its construction it appeared to be a design problem
Hortex 205mm Heavy Duty Ratchet Action Pruner Best pair I have ever owned the ratchet action really helps with my arthritic hands. Also prunings to not fall to the ground so much and it grips onto it saving a bit of back bending. But alas this morning I can not find them and so off to Bunnings for another pair.
I agree with Lyn Hawkins that there appears to be a design problem. I purchased the same pruner and it has never worked properly.
