Last October whilst visiting Darwin on a cruise, my wife purchased an opal in their Darwin shop for just under $1,000. We thought the accompanying chain was 9 ct gold, in fact my wife checked with the Store Manager who confirmed it was. After wearing it a few times, the chain went black which indicated that it was in fact not 9ct but rolled gold… Read more

or similar. When we raised the matter with the store, they advised the chain was in fact a store display chain. They offered to replace the chain for a further payment of $250. We are very disappointed with their response and the fact that we were mislead. My wife would not have gone ahead with the purchase had they said it was a cheap display chain. We could have negotiated another price with a quality chain but their offer to give us a full refund was not our preference.

Out of all of the jewellery chains, Hoskings is the only family run with personable staff, that do their best to assist you and your requirements. cases, needs to be assessed by head office or a supplier, so be it. This type of assessment apples to several items e.g. computers, cameras, TVs and the list goes on. manufacturer and made us feel we were lying which was most upsetting. Now we have to wait, gosh knows how long to probably get the same bracelet back which will more than likely fall off again!!! Unfortunately this has left us never wanting to shop at hoskings if this is the way they treat honest customers. The lady who worked there actually sounded scared of management, that she may loose her job if she swapped it over or let us pick something else out which l think is bullying tactics by management!!!! a charm to honour my beautiful mother who passed recently. She listened & empathised with me then made sure that the charm that ‘spoke’ to me could be fitted on to my mum’s chain which I was wearing before gently putting it around my neck as we stood in front of a mirror to admire it. Gob smacked left speechless and shocked with worst customer service I’ve ever received staff called there products cheap – Went to return a Pandora necklace at Frankston store. I approached a staff member standing behind the counter. No warm greeting. I advised I was returning a necklace I had for a short three weeks that fell apart at the clip. Her first question did I go swimming with it on?? No if I had the necklace would be on the bottom on the ocean...... Then… Read more

she asked me how often I had worn the necklace, I was so perplexed with her line of questioning, I advised I had worn the necklace as most people wear them. During the day off at night for the last 3 weeks.

Her response then blew my mind...........she advised the necklace is a cheap necklace not meant for full time wear!?!?

I thanked her for that comment as my Sister had bought it for me for my 40Th bday with a Pandora locket that she had personally scribed on the back. Necklace was $120 so not that cheap.

After that rude customer service interaction I asked what is required to have the necklace fixed. Then it got worse. She rudely advised it’s not their responsibility to fix it is up to Pandora, she couldn’t be sure she had to ask her manger in the store that was on the phone and kept me waiting for 10 mins to get a answer. After a short chat to her manger she advised they will send it back to Pandora it’s up to them to have it fixed or if it would be a cost to me to have fixed and it will take up to 6-8 weeks.

There was no kind reassurance that it was under warranty still with only being 3 weeks used. I’ve been in Customer Service for 25 years and had never had such a terrible interaction and lack of care from an employee and or business.

I did get the clip fixed after 7 weeks. Locket was lost not refunded or given new one.

Necklace broke again after one week from being fixed and now it’s lost.

Terrible customer service and cheap cheap jewellery. Stay clear.

Fake Stirling silver. NOT REAL OR STAMPED CORRECTLY – Selling and advertising stirling silver when In fact it’s not stamped correctly as 925. Even when looking through the magnifying glass it’s not a 9 but rather a 0 or a 6. They will not accept it as being fake. Watch battery replacement – Hosking Jewellers Rosebud Plaza Victoria . Watch went in for a replacement battery 23/06/18 I received a phone call 11/07/2018 to be informed that it was not the battery the watchmaker said the watch required a service including a circuit repair at a cost of $120.00. Rosebud Manager needs retraining in Customer Service – My husband surprised me Christmas Day with a beautiful snake necklace 4 days later it fell onto a tiled floor and broke. We returned the $500 item to the Rosebud store only to be shamed and belittled by the hot headed manager who involved 3 other staff members. I was accused of deliberately breaking my necklace. Disgusting Customer Service – I bought a Geneve Watch a while back which cost me nearly $500. I was supposed to have 3 year warranty and replacement battery for life. Within the first 12 months the bank broke. It was under warranty so the sore fixed it. They kept the watch for over 2 weeks. Airport West Store where I purchased and they told me the bank could not be fixed. They could not fix it and they no longer dealt with the company who makes Geneve watches. I asked if they could replace it with another bank and they said it was impossible, it could not be done because the band was welded onto the watch. I left the store unconvinced. Anyhow I put the watch in a drawer and forgot about it for nearly 2 years. A few days ago, I needed to fix a piece of jewellery and went to another jewellery store and decided to take the watch with me. They could not believe what I told them about Hoskings. They replaced the band completely. They also told me it required a battery and I said that Hoskings would replace the battery for the life of that watch free of charge, so I did go to Hoskings only to be told by a very incompetent salesperson that she could not change the battery because she was afraid to break the glass. That's when I flew off the handle and asked to speak to a Manager. The Manager agreed to change the battery free of charge, but it would take them a couple of days as they were very busy. (Three sales people were standing around doing nothing). I did not want to go back to the store as its Christmas and everyone is very busy, so I left and went to another place within the shopping centre which replaced the battery within 2 minutes and charged me $20. So don't believe their promises, they are only out to sell as much as they can and not after sale support. I will never, but never go anywhere a Hoskings store again and either will a lot of my family and friends.

to pick off the back. I was told that the back does not simply fall off. The watch was still under warranty but they refused to do anything about it as the warranty only covers faulty items. Ended up leaving in tears after being yelled at and accused for breaking the watch. The other salesperson was lovely however.

June 5th 2018 Update: The Best Butcher "CHOPPING BLOCK"

Chopping Bock Butchers in Eastland provides excellent service and excellent product. Tony and Tracey the owners are usually in the shop and keeping standards of service up. The product it worth a little extra and why go to a super market where the meat comes in boxes and then wrapped in plastic by someone who they like to call a butcher. Chopping Block produce their own small goods under licence including ham and bacon on the premises. Give them a go and just see the difference from the take it or leave it supermarkets meat display. We only know the proprietors as customers, and if who like Carlton talk to Tony and if you like North Melbourne talk to Tracey..
